the only thing I really wish was a customizer option, with alternatives for glowstone (latern-like maybe, I'm all oldschool, still do lighting with glowstone and not redstone lamps) and the ores (I like the basic ores more than swords and keys and I'd definitely prefer the default ores...) and I'd be very grateful if there were Alternates for this, however even if not I'd keep this texture pack since it's absolutely fabulous!
and the basin I'm living in can be found at coordinates x=0 and z=-600, roughly. I had to do some pretty heavy terraforming to make space for my house, but it was already very flat, and that made things easier.
The basin is within easy reach of a jungle and a desert, and one of the first things I did was dig a tunnel through the mountain toward the jungle for quick access. I've since put up rails for getting to all of my places, and built a farm on the jungle side of the mountains. If you make a map and expand it to the largest possible size, a standard woods biome is available on the rightmost side of the map and a taiga is in the upper left corner.
Just letting you know.
Have fun!
I like the texture pack but the glass in my opinion isn't very good, I think you should make varieties of the pack with implimented changes where people can specify what textures they want. but over all nice texture pack.

I've decided for this pack that I'm not going to be doing any alternates. It's far too much work to try to make everyone happy, and doing so is impossible anyway. Also, I have a vision as an artist, and I want that vision to be expressed. You are free to change the glass if you want, but I'm not going to do it for you. Sorry.
I love this texture pack! I searched for it since I saw it featured in the screens of a server information post and finally I found it... And am already in love with it! Downloaded in a second and had a look at it ingame and I really really like the bright colors (even the grass and such aren't too bright for me) and felt warm and happy even while it snows outside and I'm getting not enough sun The wooden textures are amazing and I love the little details (for example on the iron door) - the only thing I really wish was a customizer option, with alternatives for glowstone (latern-like maybe, I'm all oldschool, still do lighting with glowstone and not redstone lamps) and the ores (I like the basic ores more than swords and keys and I'd definitely prefer the default ores...) and I'd be very grateful if there were Alternates for this, however even if not I'd keep this texture pack since it's absolutely fabulous!
Thanks alot for it and for the hard work you're doing
PS to Lambastificate: Awesome screenshots and a very awesome base you have there, your building skills are great - hard to look at my base now, wanna rebuild everything I'm not going to, however, this would be the 3rd time building it
Glad you like it! What server did you see it on, btw? I'd be interested in checking out their page.
Here're the photos! Enjoy. Includes direct comparisons to default.
Also, a chance for me to show off my home base, easily the best thing I've ever built in Minecraft survival, and something I'm very proud of.
If there were anything I could suggest for the pack, it would be to make the gravel look a little less like dirt, and to fix the iron/gold/redstone ore's mining particles to show the standard ore, and not the RPG ores. Kinda strange to be digging a redstone block and seeing chunks of snake skeleton fly everywhere.
Obviously to finish all the item/terrain textures would be divine. Still, this is an excellent pack, and everything else is perfect. I love the mob spawner texture, by the way, and the spruce sapling is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I can literally have a bonsai tree in my house with that.
Lovely screenshots!
You're right about the ore particles. I'll get that fixed.
To anyone having issues with the HD, may I recommend Optifine to you. One feature that's not talked about as much as the FPS boosting and HD texture support is the mipmap smoothing, which blurs far-away textures into a smoother image, meaning no more ridiculous visual noise when you pan your view across a jungle, or anything like that. Optifine is one of those mods that I could never ever play without, and for a few people who have complained that the high resolution makes things look jagged, it would totally solve your problem.
Glad you've survived finals, Steelfeathers. Mine ended last Wednesday, so I sympathize.

Optifine is great, and it's the only thing that works with forge, but there are a lot of cool CTM features implemented in this pack that aren't supported by optifine. You can get along just fine without them, of course, but I personally use MC patch to get the full experience.
THEHD! IT BURNS! Literally,my eyes hurt from the HD.
On a more useful note, you should make 16x and 32x. Sadly my computer will invert if I tried to run this.
Edit: Merry end of the world!
If you have such a problem with HD burning your eyes, then you shouldn't be looking at HD packs. I put a lot of time into trying to PREVENT eye-burn (since it can be very common with hyperrealistic packs) but if it doesn't work for you then whatever.
I have a question. Does the top side of water and lava have an animation? I see the sides of the blocks and when its at an angle it does, but the topside doesn't. Also do torches have an animation? I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but torches have no animation for me. I've used mcpatcher and optifine (not together) and it doesn't show any difference. Also I'm not getting the random blocks and ores. What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I also have noticed this problem to be true on other HD packs that I use, such as Rise of Tredonia and Wolfhound.

I haven't animated water or lava, which is why the surfaces of both are still. The sides appear to be moving because their texture is taken from the default flowing water/lava animation, which is just the still texture scrolling downward. Torches haven't been animated either.
I likely will not be doing animations, because not only are they processor-intensive, they are also time consuming to make. And I'm pretty terrible at making nice animations.

okay, awesome. i thought I was doing something wrong. lol. And what about the random blocks? Do you know? And I'm sure if you wanted to do animations, you could. I'm going to school for animation.

Just as a matter of curiosity, what am I missing out on? o_O

Retired StaffNaturally. Some people sell their houses at the end of the world. Some people throw parties. I update my texture packs. :3

My Steam Name is cyndasaur, not the one from uk.

Naturally I didn't even realize there was an end imminent.

Not a ton really, just the majorly complex connected textures really.
