Okay, so, as some of you may know, I'm getting ready to graduate from college in a few months with a BS in mechanical engineering. My problem is that I'd much rather get a job in the game industry working as an artist, but I have no idea where to start looking. If any of you work for game companies, or know someone who does, or just generally know the industry and can point me in the right direction, I would be very appreciative. All of you have seen my artwork, so you know what I'm capable of. Please send me a PM if you have any contacts/job openings/advice. I will love you forever if you do. (No homo)
Tada! Lovely borders on the edges of stone brick walls. God bless the coding wiz dmc over on the tau thread. No longer will the pattern be broken by cracked/mossy blocks!!
What you could do is keep the normal texture in the normal download, and put just plain books in the simple ores download for those people who don't like the skulls & stuff.
Also steelfeathers, you shouldn't do 100% transparant CTM glass, but you should atleast make it a little more. Like smaller edges.
What, border-only glass isn't clear enough for you??? lol
I made the borders thinner before the pack was released. It looked stupid, so I made them thicker.
Well, just for you...
I am making progress on IC2 textures. Rubber logs, scaffolding, finished nether ores, I changed the uranium to more of a radioactive rod.
What do you think of the machines? The blue-flame furnace is the electric furnace. I thought I would use blue for the higher-tier machines.
Haha, love the uranium rod. And the blue flame is cool.
Steel, did you include border blocks for the mossy and cracked stone bricks? If not, I have an idea. Make them old and crumbling. Perhaps. It sounds derpy now that I actually write it. All well.
Also, the stone seems a tad too simple. IT really is grey background with light grey circles with 1 pixel-wide highlights. Maybe small circles in it?

I'm not sure if I can, since the mossy brick and cracked brick are both randomized. I don't know if you can do both horizontal and random ctm at the same time.
Are you planning on doing textures for the animals, monsters and villagers? If you do, I think it would be cool to make the wolves resemble Wile E. Coyote, and the chickens resemble the road runner. It would be so fitting, dont you think?
I really like how it's coming together!
Is there a set day you are going to be updating on like every other week on whatever day or every week or EVRY DAY!?

I'm pretty sure Optifine includes all of the newest MCPatcher's features, so you shouldn't be having problems.
I'm using Optifine because I don't want to alter the .jar. (I'm also using a custom launcher that allows me to run mods without changing the .jar.) Optifine does have all the texture pack stuff, so I'm not sure why the bookshelf doesn't work.
This is how the same bookshelf looks in the default textures:

Actually Optifine doesn't include everything, at least not properly. There's many custom color options that don't work, or don't work as intended. But as far as I'm aware the CTM is working correctly in Optifine (at least it has been in my own pack).
The bookshelves should be working fine for either MC patch or optifine, since they use the ctm template originally made for optifine:
I haven't gotten into any really fancy stuff like color properties (which I don't think I'm going to do, because I like the default lighting) so either program should do just fine.

I do intend to do the mobs, but I don't think I'm going to make them cartoon characters, per say-- just cartoony.

I'm planning to update once a week, probably around the weekend. I'm thinking it's going to be like a minecraft snapshot-- there may be a lot done, there may be only a little done, but I'll update anyway.

Hmm. After seeing this i might make the basalt a bit brighter. The darkness of it doen't go with the bright RPG feel. Although im still not sure...
Thanks for the screen shots!
Mossy stone bricks and cracked stone bricks aren't shown here, but are randomising as they should.
exactly...

Wow, looks great! Man, I really need to get that mod. I can finally run it thanks to my brand new 64 bit hard drive. :3

It's really easy, just add this line of code to the properties file for the block you want to have nice edges:
