Steel, could you post an image of your palette? It'd be useful to try and texture some mods.
I don't actually have a palette palette. I'd have to make one. I just reuse the colors from my base textures. ie, if I'm making something stony, I go eye-drop the colors from the smooth stone texture.
Ok, to reduce spamming this thread (unless you like the bumps) I made a thread for tekkit support. Basically, if you want to help, we can keep the discussion there.

I'd actually prefer mod texture discussion to happen here, since it lets newbie see it and potentially join in, and it allows me to easily add the textures created to the pack. One central location, and all.
Although I might change my mind if things get too rowdy, but I don't see that happening.

Sorry, I guess I may have jumped the gun just to appease my own organization needs. Mainly I just want to know who is doing what. Glimmar has had like 5 people re-texture the same mod 5 times just because they don't know it has already been done. I want to avoid that, as we have a lot on out plate. You are a mod, so you can always lock/delete the thread if you don't want it.
A PM actually sounds like a better idea.
Maybe someone could set up a group PM for everyone whos volunteered, just for basic conversation and infor regarding the textures we have done/need etc
And then any texture progress could be posted here, with discussion/arguing confined to the PM. I could also distribute key texturing Intel privately through the PM. Yes, I like this idea.

Not to worry, I appreciate the enthusiasm. Someone get a PM started, and I'll put a note on the OP stating that anyone who wants to take part should ask to be added to the PM.
Ok, I'll include Jimmy. Kazoid, do you want to be in the PM?
Also, I've got good news, and bad news.
Good news is ores are areally easy. Bad news is trying to stick with the MSpaint pallet makes rubber trees really, REALLY hard.
uranium, copper, and tin ores. What do you think of blue rubber tress?

I feel like uranium looks a lot like Emerald to be honest. But I wouldn't know how to correct that. Perhaps making it more of a item like the unique ores that Steel has made? But I didn't look at them side by side yet so I can't really say much.

Yes I would love to be in the PM! And can i have a try at making the rubber trees? I have quite the idea going off what steel said.

I was worried about that but tekkit is pre-emerald so you can't get them confused. And I think I got a good new color for the trees.
Dang, all this helping! I wish I could help with this (I've always wanted to do a texture pack, but can't think of a distinct style or theme). Unfortunately, I'm in my first semester of college (ever), so I'm having to get used to making myself do a lot of work once more.
I like the pattern, but it feels like it's missing something, or like the contrast is off. Any thoughts?
Yep.
For some reason it looks really flat when it's inside of the Nether Brick. It looks like it's sinking in, or a pixel shorter than the others. I don't know why though... Really love the design, though~

Everybody just relax. It IS a good idea, and I don't think that was supposed to be sarcasm.

Well sense this pack was made with a very limited pallet, it is hard to make it stand out from normal trees. But I will try.

Retired StaffFeel free to edit the existing brown tree colors to make them more grayish, if that's what you're going for.
