I came up with a cool idea to make potions be medicine. Health potions could be health packs, stim pack shot things for the other stuff and so on. Then I was going to make the potion of harm into a grenade. But I can't because MC only lets me change the potion bottle and then the potion contents which is recolored for all the regular potions. Which means I can't have 2 potions with 2 different textures. :C
Good news is splash and reg potion textures are different, so I'll probably end up making the stim pack for all of the regular potions and then make the grenades for the splash potions. Still want my medpack though.
I suggest working on the villagers, and also emeralds. Overall, one of the best texture packs I've used. Keep it up!
I would, but after doing most of the mobs I'm sort of burnt out on that for now. I'm taking some breaks with some other stuff and eventually I'll return to that.
Alright. Some of you might be wondering what the next update is all about. I know I said food before, then I started working on potions and since then I've worked on some other stuff too. The next update is going to be the largest update yet, it will contain all of this (hopefully):
-Food
-Wheat and other items like Melons
-Wood (If I can get a good look for it)
-Wool (Same as above)
-Paintings
-Bookshelves, Enchanting Table, Paper, Writable Book
-Potions and Ingredients
-Reworking of some textures like Redstone Lamp (which tiles amazingly in one direction but not so great in the other) and glowstone, which could be way better.
-Note Block, Records and Jukebox
-Language Pack
-Forum Updates
-Fully functioning Language Pack
So there you have it. I'll make sure to keep you guys posted along the way. I'm also as always taking suggestions for any and all of this stuff. Right now I'm working on the paintings, and I'm making sure to throw in some stuff for people who might make an adventure map.
Late last night for the food the food I finished raw beef and cooked steak. After that I turned the xp potion into a sort of power node. Then I finally got potions to work, making the regular potions into a stimpack administered through a syringe-gun, and also the splash potions which are grenades containing the liquids created with brewery. The brewery in my pack is designed to be like medicine. The trick with the potions was that both splash and non-splash used the same filled sprite, but I managed to line up the grenade and the syringe gun up in a way to where both used it and it looks good.
If anybody wants screenshots tell me and I can post some up. The forum updates that I will be putting in is a place for general screenshots of builds using my texture pack, as well as lore updates that should catch me up. I'll start off the screenshots section with screenshots of a build I am working on using the new gold block.
Anyway it will obviously take me a long time to finish this one, much longer than it usually does.
Those are the paintings I have done so far. Tell me what you think.
The first painting on the top left is a standard text screen that will be animated so that the lines scroll down constantly. The two to the right of that are the locked and unlocked screens, primarily created with adventure maps in mind. The last one on this row is a screen used to put above the controls for a vehicle or starship (I'll be making this look better). The first one on the next row is also for vehicles/starships---a standard text screen shaped like the other one. The last painting is a static-y warning screen (I will animate the static). That's another thing that should come into play well in adventure maps.
If theres a certain type of screen that you want in the game let me know now, I've still got tons of slots for the larger paintings.
I'll continue to keep you updated on this and other stuff for the next update in the future.
This pack crashes with OptiFine, forcing me to use MCPatcher.
Then there is a problem with the new version of OptiFine, because there is no possible way I can make the game crash by changing textures. It does not alter the code at all. A friend of mine was having trouble with Optifine as well (on a different texture pack), so the new version must be bugged.
Here's what the stims/grenades (potions/splash potions) look like for those of you who are wondering. It's a little hard to tell since I haven't changed the enchanted particle effect yet, but you should get the idea.
Today I did some more work on the paintings. I managed to get all of the ones I had drawn so far (About half) fully animated.
keep up with this pack i don't want to see this pack stop. your doing a good job keep it up
Don't worry, I'm not quitting any time soon
Early this morning I made the "Metal Brace" block that you see outlining around the floor.
I also planned out all of the wooden planks blocks:
Oak Planks: Metal Flooring (Matches the stone and cobble textures)
Spruce Planks: White flooring (A simple clean white flooring that would be good in a Med Bay and stuff like that.
Birch Planks: Pipes (A texture with various pipes going around everywhere)
Birch Log: Large Pipe (The log itself is a larger pipe that i'm sure some people will find a use for.)
Jungle Log: Rusty Metal Flooring (Matches the iron texture)
I will be working on all of these today, I'm not sure how many I will finish. Also, if I have time, I want to redesign the redstone lamps.
wow this texture pack is going to be so cool when its finished bookmarking this
Yay! Thanks, I'll try not to disappoint.

Alright, I got some new stuff to show you guys.
First off, on the floor you'll see the new Oak Planks texture (floor). It is used as a floor for the main gray commonite "theme":
I had some trouble fitting the brace block you saw outlining the room into the pack, and finally decided to make it the Oak Log texture:
Spruce planks are this white paneling that is mainly used as a floor for the gold block, and fits in with that "theme", but can be used for anything, really:
Jungle planks are the floor you see here, they fit in with the brown grunge "theme", and go along with iron. I haven't added noise yet, so expect that. You can also see the jungle log, which is a grunge brace. I haven't looked at it on jungle trees yet, and I'm not sure what I think about it yet. It might change.
So that's all for now. I still have to do the brace/log that matches the spruce planks and gold blocks. I also wanted to have a tree that is a large pipe when its a log, and a texture with lots of pipe going everywhere for the planks. I also want birch logs to be a large pipe, and birch planks to be a texture with a bunch of small pipes going everywhere.
I played it back in 1.8.1 and I liked the textures he used. Maybe you should have a look at it for inspiration. The blue glass trees and green circuit board grass in the tech biomes were awesome. I don't suggest you copy them, but maybe it gives you a hint at what you could do.
Here is a picture from said thread:
Can you tell me, please, what the block that is still called "ERROR: NULL" in the OP actually is? Maybe I have something vaguely resembling an idea then.
It would be helpful if you posted the blocks/mobs/items you still need ideas or help for. Because I lost the overview.
All in all: Great work! Keep it on! - Here, have a Biomatter Lump to boost your brain activity:
Btw: Wool could be Nanofibre or something like that. You can make Nanofibre both into fabric and also use it to reinforce other materials, so you can make your wool blocks whatever you want and say they are fibre-reinforced material blocks. The kind of the material determines the main color of the block then.
Oh: And you once said, Dark Matter would seem to be rare. I don't know whether you have done additional research on that meanwhile, but if not: I can calm you - Dark Matter is absolutely abundant in space. It's just stuff that doesn't send out light by itself. It can be Hydrogen for example (which is perfect for powering fusion reactors) or plain dust.
I don't know whether you have made the furnace yet, but you could make it a fusion reactor.
And if you think it's weird that Dark Matter appears on the surface of planets, then just call it "Liquefied Hydrogen". That would match the color and appearance of the sprite even better since the sprite is not really dark.

Alright well first off those codex pages are quite old, and I apologize for that. I haven't done my best at keeping that portion of the pack updated. I will have it fully brought up to date before I launch the new pack.
As for that block, I have no idea what it was. End of the story is it doesn't exist anymore. Lots of stuff got moved around. However, I have made a list of things I need a name for.
Gold Block (The White Metal)
Nether Brick (Previously known as Militarized Commonite when it was Stone Brick, but I changed it so now its a whole new metal)
Glowstone (Will have a new texture. Preferably a name that isn't like the others, since its not a metal, but also because I would like it to be different. Something made up of two real words maybe?)
That's pretty much it for names for now, actually. For your suggestion on wool, I believe I found a way to fit everything I needed. So I think it would be easiest to leave it as wool. If I ever run into any problems with that then I'll go with this.
As for the Dark Matter, yes I realize that real life Dark Matter is abundant. However in scifi works, it tends to be a rare resource. For example the Element Zero (which is derived from Dark Matter) in Mass Effect is the rarest element in the galaxy. I might go with the liquified hydrogen. That's what they make rocket fuel out of right?
So within the next couple of days depending on how much free time I have I'm looking at doing the chest and also fruits like apple and melon.
