Noise is just adding random pixels in random areas.
Shading looks better than noise, which is why the default textures look so crappy.
And hundreds of people can make shading in a 16x space, just keep trying and only release a pack once you've spent time and effort into it. This pack looks like it was whipped up in an afternoon.
I understand shading makes it better, but I am a VERY bad shader, I mean I'm amature on ores but everything else looks like a peice of crap came out of a camel mixed with a unicorn. (wtf) but, noise in my opinion I think looks better, aswell as your statement

I whipped it up in about 2-3 days. Thinking of textures and how to edit them. If you would find me a better guide to shading minecraft blocks feel free to do so.

Urrm, can you give me an example on a real minecraft block that isn't ore or wool? Such as cobble and wood planks, thats extremely hard for me.
