Hello minecrafters! I am starting the developement of a texture pack called SoothingCraft. This texture pack offers smooth textures in a 32x32 texture pack. This isnt one of those "get these crappy texture packs cause it improves lag" texture packs its a texture pack meant for a smooth feel. Hope you enjoy so far i have these done:
-Smooth Stone
-Diamond, Gold, Iron, Coal, Lapis Lazuli, and Redstone ores done
-Grass & Dirt
-Ore Blocks
-Wood Logs
-Wood Planks
-Gravel
-Sand
-Bedrock
-Cobblestone (Not final not liking it very much)
-Flowers
-Bricks
-TNT
Please feel free to make a video on my texture pack! Will be posted on here and I really would appreciate one =D
Dont worry im fixing the tiling errors.
More to come!
Tiling issues are when you can very clearly see where one tile of the texture stops and where the other one begins. Because of how minecraft works, the textures are endlessly tiled with no changes from one tile to the next. However, when people can see those tiles as individual tiles and not just a texture, it makes the textures look far less natural and even more repetetive. The idea is to have textures that can tile without showing the clear edges of the tile.
In your pack, the tiling is obvious because the textures on one side of the tile do not line up with the other side of the tile. It creates jarring fractures in the texture and if you're shooting for something soothing (or even aesthetically pleasing) it's definitely something you should avoid.
It looks nice, but yes, the tiling issues are appalling. Most image editors have a tool that fixes it for you, try looking around for yours and see how well it fixes them.

Im using photoshop mind telling me where i can fix this from?
Don't worry, cobblestone is a pain in the ass to do for most people.
yes, im thinking of a more neat "brick" pattern and does anyone know how to do the tiling fix in photoshop cause doing it manually is very hard and most of the time it does not work its kinda stupid how i did the textures first and i did not realize that so i have to go back and fix all the mistakes i have come across in most blocks.
Some of the tiling is a little off. Also, I know it's called smoothcraft but maybe you shouldn't use so much smudging.
I mainly wanted to use "smudging" for naturally occuring objects such as grass, dirt, stone so it gives a overall feel of smooth to it. Hence why i dont use smudging for like bricks and tnt etc..
I think(this is my opinion) you should, for the ores, make them a bit less like the paint smudges and a bit more like the coal. for exaxmple, make the red stone a bit more circular, but still kind of painting looking ish.
I think he understands that theres a tiling issue.
I'm a fan and will definitely download when there is slightly more progress. However I do have some criticism-
Wood and Ore blocks (Diamond Block, etc) look just like blurry versions of the default. And I don't mean to be rude, but the TNT looks terrible. xP A tip would be not to use pure black. However, I have a TNT block from a failed attempt at making a pack myself, and I think it would fit in quite well with this pack. Would you be interested?
Also, Isn't is supposed to be Smoothingcraft? In the title it says soothing, and the signature says smoothing.
I would love to see your tnt texture! and on the other thing.....EPIC FAIL.

I'd use this, though, if it gets fixed.
