My first texture pack is called TruCraft. It puts together oCd and the Default texture pack for a beautiful look. Scroll down to read more, or download this texture pack at: Download here: http://www.mediafire...q89uebvnrqq8sis
TruCraft searches for the perfect cross between the default texture pack and a more minimalist genre such as the oCd pack by disco. I find both the oCd textures and the default ones to be extremely appealing, so I decided to get the best of both, all while retaining the original minecraft experience. I have put about 3 hours into making this (excluding blueprints and design), and I feel every minute of it was worth it. I suggest paring the mod "Optifine" with it, but it is still a great texture pack to use. It also puts textures together to give a "Connected Textures feel" even without Optifine. This gorgeous texture pack works with both 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 MV's.
Keep in in mind that this is only the first release of it, and it will come out soon in the 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4updates. These updates will include changing the look of weapons and tools, as well as some of the GUI.
Ummm... thanx guys, im tryin my best so pleez hang in there... the 3.0 update should have all that you ask for, but may I know your opinion of a good tex pack: for example, Do you prefer detailed or simple?, Do you like cartoony like Sphax, or more of a blend like Painterly?

The simple answer to that question is this: don't try to mix detailed AND simple. Pick one route and go with it. Especially for a new texture-er, finding a suitable middle ground may be elusive. However, one piece of advice: don't make a "simplepack".. there's just no audience for it anymore :P. Think of a unique theme, and build on that. What you've done is taken two completely different themes and you tried to mix them together. I'm sorry but that didn't work.
One more piece of advice: I know it seems like a good way to start, but don't make a texture pack by simply modifying the original textures. You'll never create something unique that way. Build it from the ground up.
