-Complaints about the 'grid' effect of the grass, stone, and other blocks. This is done on purpose, and I am aware it's not everyone's cup of tea. I will likely release a 'seamless' version once the pack is completed.
Can you make grass and foliage more cheery, default is more of a happier pack. This one seems more like those Dark RPG games, other than that it's great and I can't wait for a more seamless version.
I love the dark look of it. I actually really liked how the grid was really apparent, but I like it this way too. One thing I've noticed is that above anything transparent (wheat, torches, etc) there are floating particles. You've probably heard this before though. But yeah, it's my favorite pack. I am using mainly the 32x one, just because I like smaller textures.
Also on torches and saplings (probably some other blocks too) there are out-of-place dots that don't belong and have gotten quite annoying. So if you could edit that out it'd be great.

I am aware of these, they are caused by the smoothing algorithms when I convert smaller texture packs. I know of one tedious solution, but I'm hoping to find an easier one soon. If you can hold out till I finish the rest of the terrain file I'll fix it. Thanks!
0.0.4 is now up with many additions, including enchanting table, snapshot textures (emerald, cocoa, and enderchests), less white glowstone, and many many more!
Awesome work man! I really like this combination of the pixelated style and the attention to detail. I'll keep an eye out for that "seamless" version you mentioned, because that would solve my only real complaint with this pack.
I must say, I clicked the title in the forum list thinking "not another one of these", but once I saw that initial screenshot I almost gasped. It looks pretty good. I don't mind the fact that it doesn't tile. Not every texture needs to tile to look good, so long as it's clear that it isn't trying to fool you. Take a look at the JunkJack texture pack for example.
I like how straight up the OP was, too. That kind of attitude made me want to try this pack, which I'll be doing in just a minute. If I like it, I'll follow it's progress. Good job so far.

Thanks for the nice post! I love Junkjack, it's the pack I use when I'm wanting a cartoony feel.
Thanks for the review! You'll be happy to know that in the current version (0.0.4) I've completed nearly all of the terrain.png file, so many of the textures that were the same in your review have now been updated. Also, the 'tiling' effect is done on purpose-- once I have completed items mobs and the gui, I will be adding a 'seamless' version.
You say that you don't like most photorealism packs, but have you tries Misa's? I don't like realistic looks to Minecraft, but when I see Misa's pack, I think, "Oh my, this is AWESOME!" Plus, with the CTM, she made it so there are almost no noticeable patterns.
I believe he intended for the texture pack to have borders and "patterns", it's part of the look.

That texture in the background - grass? It doesn't tile.
;-)
Oh, sorry
No worries :-)
How are you getting/making the textures? Like, the source material?
