Hey. My name is Windstalker and I'm going to show you my new texture pack. Sorry that the items are all pretty much the same, but the process of making a texture pack all by yourself takes a long, long time and is very, very difficult. If you want to help me out just ask.
Download: http://www.<Mediafire.com/?uf8n2czmpspnwtn The link should work, if it doesn't can someone please tell me how to upload it.Sorry there are no pictures as I am a first timer I don't know how to upload pictures as well. So please, my fellow minecrafters, give me a chance. And remember that I don't have photoshop. Don't MCpatch it because I'm pretty sure it ruins the font.
Installation: Place the Jar in to your texture pack folder located in your .minecraft folder (Go to start, Type run, then press enter. In the run bar type %appdata% and then click the .minecraft folder and in the .minecraft folder should be a texture pack folder, place the jar in their)
If anyone has any problems. Post. Please give me reputation if you like the texture pack. If you have any ideas again, post. Once this is out, chuck your ideas at me! (not literrally of course) I'd be happy to accept any ideas and make them come true.
Please if you download my texture pack, reply. Give me a review of what you think needs to change, that IS possible of course. Sorry again for no pictures. My Mediafire is on the fritz, looks like you guys will have to do it the old fashioned way... Sorry. But don't give me bad marks for unorganization because this is a first time. Just please, hear me out and give it a shot.
I'll give you a few reasons why this "looks like crap"
One, I am 12 years old, can't get photoshop and have to do homework
Two, I play tennis and have to practice.
Three, I don't live for minecraft.
And you'd be suprised that I am doing just that. Starting from scratch
I don't have a team of NERDS making texture packs with me. It's just me. If you make a texture pack you're proud. If other people say what you just said and don't realise that it's my FIRST texture pack EVER! Then they don't really get the feeling I do.
I'm making a new one that'll take around two weeks. That'll be with my new company that a friend and I are creating.
Thanks for the advice, but next time, get it out in a nicer way. I'm philosophical about this whole dispute. But everyone has different opinions. If you had've read what I posted, then you would've calculated that: "Oh! It's his first texture pack!" Then you would've posted something saying: "It is a default edit and looks a bit on the downside but good start!" A friend said that to me, because he was smart. And maybe you're not.
I know you've probably made a texture pack Goodlyay, but I hate the people that come on my topic, say my pack is crap and don't realise how hard it is to make a texture pack so the people who come on and say that I'll say: "Make your own!"

Except he is perfectly aware of how hard it is to make a texture pack. Judging by your attitude, more than you are.

I'm going to be blunt (as usual): We don't give a rat's ass about your personal life.
For all i care you could be Gabe Newell and i'd still tell him straight to their face that this pack looks bad if he posted it here.
1. Age does not matter. Did you check Goodlyyay's profile? He's 14. You don't have to get photoshop. If you did some research, you'd find a free alternative - GIMP.
2 and 3 - If you're oooh soo busy, then don't make texture packs. Instead you're just acting like a victimized diva when someone complains about your work.
And you'd be suprised that I am doing just that. Starting from scratch

Hey, newsflash - NO ONE here has a "team of nerds" making a texture pack with them. With the exception of the Dokucraft Continuation, everyone here is working on their own. Shocking isn't it?
Again, "My first texture pack" is not a valid excuse for quality. Especially when you remember that nobody made you post your first pack.
Thanks for the advice, but next time, get it out in a nicer way. I'm philosophical about this whole dispute. But everyone has different opinions. Again, irrelevant information. Your friend does not have to deal with dozens of default edits flooding the forums every single day and he probably likes you or has never been to this forum/seen other packs.
To sum up - If you can't handle critique, never, EVER post your work in public.
Oh and, don't double post, you can just edit your post.
Hello Baludran. Look you've found yourself on the wrong side of me, and that can get really bad sometimes. Hey, seriously ask my friend here. Look mate, you need to go into a room, by yourself, rethink what you just said and think, how would you feel if someone just came up to you downloaded your pack and said in a very, very inappropriate way. You and this other guy have pretty much just got on my topic and said: "This guy's texture pack is f***ing s***. Don't talk to me about my astrixes either because I'd be quite happy to swear full out at you right now. Look, I dunno who you think you are, but you need to really rethink what you just told me. And by the way, I did do some research and guess f***ing what? I used GIMP to make that texture pack dumbf***! Don't talk to me about research, cause I do a lot of it. And this guy is 14? You've said you don't give a rat's tail about my personal life, so why the f*** should I give a rat's tail about his? I felt bad when this guy came on and said it's a piece of crap. Then you've just followed through with something worse than any swear word. To sum what you said up, it's not very nice at all. I would never, ever find myself saying that to someone elses texture pack. I hope you realise that I am a nice guy, until you get on my bad side. You're a very bad person. If I thought someone's texture pack was bad, I'm pretty sure I'd ask them if they wanted any help to make it better. But no, you just go off on your little adventure and type your thoughts straight out onto the keyboard. Think before you do, *****.
Oh and stop being a whiny asshole and go live your life. It's my life, I don't need some ***** in the park telling me how to live it.
Oh and by the way, since you just insulted my friend that is actually 50-60yrs of age. He has seen many more texture packs and is smart enough to tell me I made a good start. So don't you go insulting everyone. If you make a texture pack I don't care what it looks like you'll find critism out of me. So **** off and go tell someone else how to live dickweed.
Well this is a lovely start to a texture pack thread...
Basically, this is a public forum where people only respect your work if it is of the standard that people appreciate, and it is clear the author had put much of his time into creating. If you'd have done as much 'research' as you claim you have, then surely you would have noticed that people do not appreciate texture packs that are either default edits, simple packs (with the exception of a select few who have put genuine effort into making their simple/clean texture pack look professional), and essentially all texture packs that look as though they were made by a blind rat who decided to spend his day making squiggles in MS Paint.
If you didn't want to attract the criticism of those such as Balduran and others within the forum, then perhaps consider sitting down, trying to understand the image editor you are using (I suggest Paint.NET or GIMP) and work on something unique and tasteful. Frankly, I doubt people care if this is your first texture pack, it is the quality of the pack and the way it has been presented that people use to judge with. Hell, you could even do a little more of this 'research' of yours and maybe watch some tutorial in how to create a piece of work that is up to the standards of the internet.
And I bet, instead of taking in my suggestions like a mature human being, you'll attempt to argue back at me, and since you're a twelve year old, I'd assume you'd try to use language that you deem impressive, in an attempt to throw me off (when in actual fact you're using the vocabulary of any dumb thirteen year old), but take heed of the fact that I can be as verbose and grandiloquent as any Harvard English professor might be be, and I am not afraid to verbally **** up some twelve year old who tries to answer back to those who are superior to him in terms of age and intellect.
I was simply trying to give you some criticism, take it and shut up with the excuses. That is all.

Look, I keep on trying to tell you people that I did use GIMP! If you do as much research as you say you do then you'd work out that when you do something with MS Paint there is no transparency.

Mate did you get top 10% for mathematics in the state when you were twelve?
Did you get out of the wrong side of the sewer this morning?
And plus please realise that I am not allowed to be on the internet 86/9 (longer than 24/7) and sit up and watch youtube videos of people making pieces of work.
With all due respect, your current edits are not desirable to look at. The palettes on most of those blocks are ridiculous and are hard to look at, not to mention they look bad when put together or tiling, and some of those things are not even recognizable. Take a step back and look at what you're doing before you upload something with serious intent on garnering criticism on it, and do not resort to hostility when you receive negative criticism. That's only reducing your credibility and other users ability to take you seriously.
I know you've probably made a texture pack Goodlyay, but I hate the people that come on my topic, say my pack is crap and don't realise how hard it is to make a texture pack so the people who come on and say that I'll say: "Make your own!"
I've made a texture pack. It's in my signature.
I know it is hard, but what if an architect made a building, and it collapsed and then he said "well, it's hard to make buildings!"
Um... well this thread is a bit of a pointless war... but I'm board so...
No, your texture-pack is not good, though everybody starts somewhere. Yes people on the Internet will be blunt and on occasion, mean. Yes, you over-reacted to the first piece of negative criticism you revived; which had the word 'sorry' inbuilt as to not appear mean. Yes, you do appear to be attempting to be grandiloquent (A wonderful word, thanks ThornedParadox for introduceing me!), which I think is funny. Yes, making a texture-pack is hard. No, that is not an excuse for being arrogant, and frankly, not being very good. No, MS paint does not support transparency. No, being busy is not an excuse for being arrogant, and frankly, not very good. No, you are not old enough to start a company. Yes, tacos are delicious. No, most people don't use Photoshop for texture-packs. No, having Photoshop does not mean you can make better texture-packs (at least not 16x from my experience). No, you can not post your default edits on these forums without getting a bunch of crap; and I don't think you should be allowed that. No, your not gaining friends by acting like a pompous little child. Yes, I can make my own texture-pack, and I have. No, it's not unreasonable to think that people could be civil about this. Yes, you are being the most uncivilised on this topic. Yes, I have written enough. Yes, I will go to bed now.

I didn't even read through all that crap because I saw the amount of swearing in it. OP, you are pretty upset.
Your texture pack is bad and you should feel bad about it. I don't care if this is your first, or this is dedicated to someone, or even if this was to save something. If you can't make a decent job and you can't take criticism then don't publish your work.
I find it funny how the guy who gave you rep for that post is the same guy that made a crappy texture pack and also went all drama on his thread. Goes to show that douches stick up for douches, even if that guy is wrong.
