I would suggest looking for tutorials online, however you could be like me and just teach yourself by doing the basic stuff like Stone, Wood, and Dirt, then you could gradually move onto others.
Top Tip: Observe other peoples work and look at their attention to detail, and how they go about shading.
yeah but i dont understand what blocks would need shading
THEY ARE LOADS OF TUTORIALS.
You still choose a crappy bucket fill pack.
Lets look at the cobble stone, its white with some crappy grey lines. Mossy cobble is the same but with a random shade of green.
This screems "BUCKET FILL"
If you dont understand shading, for the love of god stop posting these.
Why things like simplecraft are good: Because there is actually effort.
I can make this pack, in about... 5 minutes? I can find in 1 minute.
how would you like someone to go and degrade the stuff you worked long and hard on?

I'd take their advice. I suggest you do look at the kind of replies on texture pack threads, so you get the idea of what you should put in your texture pack.
