You do know that there is absolutely no difference between this "updated" version and the one labelled as 1.4.2, right? If no new blocks and/or items are added, there is really no need to update
I've answered this before, but that's a long time ago, so I can do it again...
R3D.CRAFT fully stands for "Realistic 3-dimensional Craft", also pronounced "Red Craft". The purpose in the name lies in the concept of the whole texture pack: To make the default texture more realistic.
I didn't know that. Cool. I am waiting for a real 3D texpack, though... one that literally fills my keyboard with sand and when I hit a diamond with my pickaxe, it breaks my screen. Get working on it!
This is probably my favorite texture pack. The 512 one looks so nice, and not only does it stay true to the original, which means no "The hell is this block?" moments, but it adds even better things, like the breaking animation, which I love watching, and the whole "I got pixels in my pixels, yo!" thing as well. Definitely one of the best texture packs out there. One question though: Is there any chance of a 1024x1024 pack in the future?

I can't even imagine O.O
I don't know anyone with a pc good enough to run that res. I think that's overkill tbh.

My laptop will run Extreme Realism 1024, and at around 70 fps at far, it just takes a while for everything to load up, and uses an absurd amount of RAM, 8.5GB at one point. I just think that with the amount of detail he's been able to add to the original textures already, 1024 would allow even more. And also, it would be neat to be able to say you made one of the very few, so far, 1024x texture packs.

I guess few would be able to run 1024x1024. It's four times as big as 512x512.
If I'm able to make R3D.CRAFT to 1024x1024? No. The reason is because then I would have just stretched the pixels. To really achieve that quality I would have to redo all of my textures in that size. They aren't vector, you see.
Anyone have an alternate texture pack to use in conjunction with this one for modded items? Anything that would look good while still giving that vanilla mod looks without looking so horribly pixelated.
He's a troll. He has no clue.

thanks
Any ideas for changes? One that keeps the original style.

Going to my corner now.
R3D is pronounced both "red" and "R-3-D".
