You sir, are a genius. I just want to say that some of the textures can be bettered. Like for instance, the logs and wooden planks alike, are spot on- just what this pack is. But other textures like the furnaces, the blocky solid blacks and realistic flames, just throw it off for me. Be a perfectionist! I hate seeing great projects get lazy or worn down. This has some true potential
Hey UniBlue, can you make a video tutorial on, "How To Make An HD Texture Pack". I have been searching for it, but not one video has been helpful, I try to make some, but I do not know how to resize the images to the 64x64 equivalence. Please, if you have the time, make a video.I will subscribe to your channel and stuffs.

It's hard 16x16 is 256, 32x32 is 512, 64x64 is 1024, 128x128 is 2048, 256x256 is 4096 and 512x512 is 8192
How the hell did you get the water shader and the shadows working together?
I did not. That image you see there is a scene from my upcoming cinematic called "BLUR". I make cinematic videos on a YouTube channel called Uniblue Media. It is really just two recordings (one with SEUS and one with Water Shader), following the same camera path. I've keyed out the water and the sky, and added water shaders + realistic clouds. All this + color correction and other nice effects
He didn't. It turns out he's actually pretty good at Photoshop,
I might be, yes, but that wasn't edited it Photoshop. That is a scene from my upcoming cinematic, which I edit in a video editing software called Adobe After Effects CS5.5

I'm glad you appreciate R3D Thanks!
I've stated before that the flames does not fit the style and will be changed in the finishing phase (95-100%).
Other blocks will also be more "perfection'ed" in this phase.
Personally, I feel like a perfectionist, and I know others agree with me so don't worry

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I like your approach far better then the other 'default but HD' packs out there. Simply awesome.
Now you mentioned that the Glass needs some reworking, and I agree. Really, I think all it needs are some Gradient patterns that mimic the diagonal pixels in the original. I think I'll do a little tweaking of the texture myself to show you exactly what I mean

Haha, I did a 10 minute speed mock up of my suggestion, and encountered a rather irritating limitation. Seems Minecraft doesn't support partial transparancy, so there is no way for a gradient to nicely fade away.
Here's my crappy version of the glass I did for testing..... (On black to demonstrate the partial transparency)
And here's what it looks like in game.....like smeared snowman crap. Terrible.
So, looks like glass is as good as can be done while remaining faithful to the original look.

Yes, I still think the glass looks to plain and boring. It needs something more or a set of changes. I'll get back to it in the finishing phase (95-100%).

Yeah, I tried something similar two weeks ago, and I got the same result. I thought the glass block supported transparency, but it doesn't :/ Oh well. At least I see what you meant. Reflections.
Personally, I don't like that the glass has texture in it. Just frames are good enough for me. I'm just awaiting some modder to make a glass reflection mod
I use this texture pack all the time, I bookmarked this forum and check it every day, hoping for a new update :D. But I watched your videos as well on YouTube, and I posted an epic song on 2 of your videos, the blur and Incandescent, hope you don't mind. Thanks!

I'm inclined to agree. In fact, it was those blasted lines on the glass that got me started searching out a texture pack, in fact. The glass looks good with just the frames. I may attempt painting the diagonal lines in myself, just to see if I can get a pleasing result.
When you do come back to polishing the glass though, I think it could use a touch of desaturation. It looks just a tad too bright with the increased color range on the other textures. Looks like you just pulled the colors off the original, but to even the look, you should add more hues to the frame.
I do like the pack overall though, that's why I'm spending time to give you thoughtful feedback. In case I start to sound too critical

When this texture pack is 100% finished, it will look godly, I will use it in some of my videos, sad thing is, with my Fraps, I use your 512x512, and it takes my 80 FPS straight to a nasty 20 FPS, but in the video, it shows about 30-40. Good enough for me. And you are a perfectionist.

Critics is like gold to me and many other creators. I seek improvement and appreciation. I can't fully understand what people want and don't want, so honest thoughts is always highly appreciated.
If you wonder how the vines will look like in the next update, go over to R3D's official fanpage on Facebook! I've just uploaded a small preview of the first attempt to change the vine. I would also love some feedback, if you could be so kind :3
i hope everyone else can say the same.
Ah, that would help me very much. Thanks! :3
It's hard
And you know how to change it, right?

Ah, alright, so would I use like, Paint for Windows or something? I may just get a cracked version of photoshop or something
