I'm not exactly sure why, but both 3.0 and 3.0.1 512x bring the game to a crawl (even in the menu before entering a world). Like 3 - 7 fps crawl.
I'm running an i7 5960x, GTX 1080 ti, 32 gigs system ram (8g for starting Minecraft, using 64 bit Java). I am running 11.2, but that shouldn't really be an issue for either of them, right?
I can use other 512 packs with no problems (realistico, mojokraft, pulchra). I can load resource packs from as far back as 1.8 (after tweaking the pack file) and am not getting the same issue. It only happens after loading up this one (I've tested with and without any other mods and resources loaded, including with and without shaders).
Any clue what could be causing this?
***EDIT***
I figured it out. It's the massive sized animated blocks (water, lava, command blocks, etc...).
I pull those out, rezip, and my FPS jumps up to 300 - 500.

Yeah, it was that last bit about animated terrain I missed.
However I do want animated terrains for some of the things so I ended up just resizing the animated files in paint.net down to 128x(whatever the height needs to be, 2048 down to 512 for example). I can live with a couple of blocks being smaller res for the animations they provide.
Also thank you very much for replying. Don't know how often you get it, but I want to let you know I greatly appreciate your resource pack.

The weird thing is that turning off 'Animated textures' does nothing visually, for what I've seen. I'm still not sure why and what is causing the lag.
Is there really no alternative to Adfly? One that doesn't freeze Chrome on a brand new pc with 32gigs of RAM maybe? Or one that doesn't try to get you to install malware?
This is my favorite pack of all time. I don't even play MC anymore but I sometimes come back to see if this project is still being worked on or not to relive the nostalgia a bit. Glad to see it hasn't died!
I'm just a bit sad that the default realism pack was discontinued as that was the one I always used. The smooth realism was a bit too different for me to really get into.
Kickstarter? Seriously? I'm sorry, but that is just obscene.
How is that obscene? He is an adult that has a lot of time that needs to be devoted to school and work. Honestly I don't know how he has the motivation to keep this project going. Once you grow up you'll understand.
I saw that the kickstarter failed, part of that may be because a lot of us don't check in to this project often. I've been following it for years though, and would happily donate if you put a large shiny link somewhere! The amount of work that you've put in already warrants it, maybe start a patreon? You may not see a lot of traffic right away but I'd sub for a couple bucks a month and I feel like you would see enough like minded people for it to be worth it. Also, if you know any YouTubers you should speak with them about using and promoting your pack. This is by far the best default styled pack and in my opinion the best of the realism packs too, please keep up the great work, looking forward to updates
I downloaded this mod today and it was working perfectly until it started to rain - when the falling water turned everything purple and then bright, blinding white.
Did I miss a file? I only say the R3D zip but is there something else I need to grab?

This may be my favorite resource pack, but i wish there wasnt so many untextured stuff.

Even now, this is still one of the best projects out there

Hi there,
Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times:
I downloaded this mod today and it was working perfectly until it started to rain - when the falling water turned everything purple and then bright, blinding white.
Did I miss a file? I only say the R3D zip but is there something else I need to grab?
