If it solves something, when I load the 512x resource pack with the config I said you (COntinuum Shaders and Optifine) the game becomes laggy. When closing it, the console says a "GL ERROR Pre render 1281: Invalid Value" It spams it once every few secs.
Weird. I seem to have some laggissues with 512x as well. But I located the problem. By installing Optifine I could disable animated terrain. That made it jump from 2 fps to 110 fps.
I have the same problem, I can only play 256x, oddly, I can play other resource packs at the maximum res with no problems. What are your specs? Might be just me.

This is so weird. I still unable to play with the 512x pack, but switching the Terrain Animated OFF with Optifine makes my FPS boost to around 40-50 with the shaderpack. Still everything solid black colored.
Guys I had the same problem when I was "doing my Texture Pack", I had placed objects and some blocks 512x (by mistake) and I had created the problem, but then I had solved by putting the objects and 256x blocks, and I solved everything
so that mean there are some textures with wrong resolution on the 512x pack?
I don't know honestly, but I think it's something that needs to be resolved in the Texture Pack 512x, so as to be able to play in Optifine 1.9/1.10.

here 30% of blocks aren't modified are just default block, you should
make more updates and faster, bcs. there are many objects to be edited
I should, and I do. It's not like I choose to have an unfinished resource pack. It takes a lot of time to create these blocks and sadly, I can't sit all day creating them. I'm doing as much as I can at the moment.

the reduced indexed color mode (8bit/256 colors) produces some ugly gradients, e.g. have a look at the lock of the normal double chest.
Sadly the new reduced file size results in a loss of detail. I'm using the 128x128 pack, the new textures lack the sharpness and detail of the previous version. I've compared several screenshots with the current and previous version, the previous resource pack image quality was without a doubt superior.
The indexing is not responsible for the sharpness. That's due to the new filter for downscaling. 32x and 64x look a lot better that way. I noticed that 128x lost some sharpness, and I guess I could exclude that, as well as 256x from the filtering process.
Yeah, I noticed the gradients on the chest, but I will change the chest lock a bit in the future anyway, so if that's the only texture that suffers from indexing, then the indexing is still worth it.
The issue I tolked a few days ago it's now solved. Now I can load the 512x pack. Thanks to the developer of Optifine, a preview version with a bugfix has just been released. Here you have the post.
P.S.: the beacon_beam texture (on the Entity folder) is missing on the 512x resource. I realised of that while digging on the pack searching for what it could had been causing the error.
1.8 and up doesnt use the leaves_x_opaque files to render opaque leaves. Instead it uses the leaves_x file and fills in the empty pixels. If no color is designated in the transparent pixels (transparent pixels do hold a color value!), it will render green by default

Using the 128x v0.2.8 on 1.10.2, the bottom part/flowing lava turned purple while using OptiFine 1.10.2 HD U C2, but this does not happen with other resourcepacks.

This happened to me with xMrVizzy's Faithful 32x32 pack as well. I rolled back to Optifine 1.10.2 HD U C1 and the issue went away. I hadn't tried his most recent version, but I assumed it was an Optifine issue.
EDIT: Just checked the Optifine thread. This is a confirmed bug and Optifine was updated a couple hours ago to fix it.

Updating several resolutions take not much time. I've automated many of the processes, like using batching in Photoshop. The uploading goes quick.
Is the default realism deprecated or something?
It haven't been updated for a while now.

The new update screwed with the pack a bit. Can't see through the water (depth) and doesn't seem like there is smooth lighting at all.
