My screenshots are outdated, and I simply don't have the time to take new ones right now. If you love Dot Sized, and you feel inspired please post them here <3
Dot Sized is a whimsical geometric 8x texture pack. The name was inspired by the method in which this texture pack was created: my Nintendo 3DS. The base textures were completed using a program on my 3DS and finishing touches and color changes were done using Gimp 2. This texture pack is still a heavy WIP, but I've decided to release a beta version so people can try it out. The official release of Dot Sized 1.0 will feature a completed terrain.png.

Woah. Normally I'd take issue on the tiling of the water (with the borders and everything on it), but for some reason it gives it a sort of "pure" and "clear" feel. How unusual
This is quite nice! The only this is the orange logs I see in the 4th screenshot (jungle wood?). It's a bit...orange.
Everything else is great. I'll download it.
Nice pack mopy ! ( it's iixiil btw ) hope to see this continued and go a little far, at the least.
Thanks ix I really enjoy working on this pack because I can whip out textures anywhere with my 3DS. I'm more than happy with the way it's turning out (I don't even miss my higher res packs), so I will definitely be finishing this!
For an 8x pack this is actually really nice. Great work with the side grass / sand especially!
Thank you so much! The side grass took a while because I had to figure out how to make layers with the DS program, but the sand was one of the easier textures. Just made a gradient and shifted things around a bit. I'm glad you like it!

Good job :3
Thank you so much! I am glad you like it. There are a few other textures where the tiling is insane lol! I'm not going for realistic with this pack. You know that old saying about having to know the rules before you break them? Well, I learned a lot about the rules of creating a texture pack from my work on Puddle Place, and I guess now I'm purposefully breaking them to create interesting textures with patterns and in some cases, optical illusions. I really love this pack, and I've already created a few alternates, so you may yet see a few alternate versions of the water, even though you like it :).
WONDERFUL~! Loving this pack, one of my favorite 8x Packs to date. Keep up the fantastic work
Thanks charlie! I think I found my texture pack niche with 8x. It's really strange working on Aluma'e Fantasy. It's like trying to draw in one of my big sketch books vs. my pocket one. I do seem to like small things (no jokes). Have you seen my micro origami and clay sculptures?

Thanks! Yup, that's the jungle wood allrighy! I really enjoy making wood.....0_o {must resist} I'll see if I can whip up an alt :)!
Very nice, good job! How'd you do it your the 3DS?
Thank you kindly sir! I created the textures using Inchworm Animation. While I do believe it's possible to complete a terrain.png with this program exclusively, I found it difficult to manage color as I was learning how to use it. I'd like to try and make a pack on the 3DS w/out having to tweak it on the PC, and it would certainly be a fun challenge! I guess we'll see.
Yay the northerner south adorable seal of approval!!!! I still <3 puffy lines btw! I think you should make an 8x puffy lines....that would make me so happy.
Mopy, you are amazing!
I make an animated clock, you make an entire texturepack on a 3DS!
I can't wait to try this out :3
Animated clock?!?! That's awesome! Thanks a bunch gig! BTW I'm thinking of adding a section to the op for awesome 8x packs. I would like to add grim evening and Isabella if I do......if you're ok with that. I'll check with Jimmy as well about Isabella.
@Gigfran Lol how could I be so wrong? Either way, the packs are awesome! I'll figure it out!
Also, I just added The Fiftyniner to my credits & thanks list! I wasn't aware that the font in Tiny Pixels was created by him. Much thanks to him for making such an awesome font, and letting me use it in Dot Sized. Go check out his Texture Pack Hub.
Dumb question; does this reduce lag?
It looks amazing and something this amazing to reduce lag.. epic.
Thank you so much for the compliment! I have read differing opinions on whether or not 8x actually reduces lag. Dot Sized is an actual 8x pack not a 16x made to look like 8x, so there is a slight chance you may see a small increase in your FPS; however, I did not create this pack with the intention to reduce lag, and I haven't really noticed a difference in my performance. I would still encourage you to use it of course!
@42 Thank you so much! I'm really happy you like it. I will finish as soon as I can, but I have a feeling the terrain.png will be finished really soon!
Everyone, I added custom banners by dude_a_magiger to the op, so you can put one in your signature if you want to support Dot Sized. I also added a few more screenshots I will have a wider range of screenshots when the terrain.png has progressed a bit more.
Well, I'm working on a new 5x5 pack from scratch right now. c:
Also, I saw a tutorial by Leo detailing how to make a tiny outpost (I'm also fond of small things. ^^). I modified the design a bit and tested it in several packs. I'll grab a screenshot of it in Dot Sized.
EDIT: This is most of the 5x5 pack:
And these are the screenshots of that outpost:

I tend towards modest builds as well. Not that small, but when compared to some of the structures of others.

@iBryst I'm so glad you like it ^u^ and your screenshots are awesome! I will work on fire, lava, and water animations once I complete the terrain.png, so you're wall won't be lonely anymore (I hope). As for the cobble, it has a place in my heart for sure, but I am going to switch that cobble out for a new one, and keep the old one as an alt.
@Gig,..........HECK YEAH!!!!! I'm so happy I inspired you, I can't wait to see it when it's finished!
@Northerner tiny things rule! I love that lil outpost Leo designed. I've built a few on different servers I've been on. Also, for some reason, in my head packs have to be even numbers in resolution (i.e. 8x, 16x, 32x and so on) I dunno why lol. Anyhoo your 5x looks really great, and I hope you continue it for sure! I think we all need to post these packs and fill the forum with AWESOME low res packs. Just one thing though......can someone please explain how a 2x pack works.....0_o?
@42.....yeah, I'd say that circle build you were working on was pretty modest. After all, it's no biggie to dig a GIANT HOLE all the way to bedrock right?

Technically that was xypharius's build. Mine was the 9 diameter sphere hanging off the top ring.
