So you downloaded the update, took out the texture files, and uploaded it. No, anyone could do this.
I totally understand where you're coming from, and I partially agree with you, but surely this is useful to an extent? This would be especially helpful to those who are either really lazy or simply don't know how to extract the texture files.
But, again, I do agree with you, anyone looking for the updated texture files (and didn't know what to do) could have used a tutorial or something..
May I ask, why has nobody complained theres no pictures?
Firstly, it's 'there are'. It's plural. Also, put a 'that' in front of the 'there are'.
*Ahem*
Anyway..
Secondly, it's probably because this isn't a fully fledged texture pack, therefore people don't particularly want to know what this looks like, as it is most likely that they have seen default before.

Firstly, I have a D in English.
Secondly, So what? They need pictures to prove it isn't a virus.
Maybe because it's the templates for the default minecraft? >.< Fail
@Lizard, You can't take a pic of the pack to prove it isn't a virus?
@Skeleton, same thing. You can't take a pic of the pack to prove it isn't a virus?

Then one thing or another you'll be dropping the soap in prison on purpose saying "OH BIG JIM THAT'S THE SPOT." You don't want that to happen do you?
Firstly, I couldn't give a damn about your personal life, I was simply correcting you. Take it like a mature human being, or shut up.
Secondly, I am aware of this, yet I'd assume that people are in a false sense of security when they 'know' what they're downloading. There's an impression of uncertainty when somebody presents us a texture pack (that they have created) with no pictures, as people have no idea what they are downloading, whereas in this case, most people believe they do.
Yet, I do agree with you in the sense that you do need pictures to prove that this isn't a virus.

I was just stating that I have very bad grammar and I wasn't arguing about it. So please, don't get pissy at me.

How would they know what they are downloading, they have not been givin a sneak peek at the pack. And I agree with you that most people beleive this is a pack. But who knows, the guy could be lieng and it could be a virus

If they don't know how to extract files, how come this is in a rar? And if they cant extract them, how do they know how to packe them into a zip?

You sir, are an idiot. Viruses can NOT work out of compressed files, so its 100% safe to open them and look for an exe files which would be the virus. If the download link is for an exe off the bat, then yes, its probably a virus. But to ask for pictures to prove something isnt a virus is... just ****ing stupid.
If the download is a zip, RAR, 7z, then it in itself is not a virus. It could contain one within the archive, but it can not run from within it, so its really easy to look inside and see what the archive contains.
Also, loading the zip trhough minecraft will NOT trigger any potential virus within the pack as minecraft is looking for specific file names and types, and there is no such thing as a png virus.

Argument invalid.
I think you misunderstood my last post. I was referring to those who are planning on making a texture pack for the (to be) updated version of Minecraft, therefore they would need this to use a template. When I say extract, I mean more in the sense of simply transferring onto desktop or such. In the whole last post, I was referring to those who download this pack, and nobody else.
I think that's explained everything. I didn't totally understand what you were saying in your previous post, not in the way that I didn't understand the individual words, it's the way it was set out that confused me slightly.
If I was wrong, then care to elaborate your post? I'll have a better explanation if I understand your posts more.
DOWNLOAD
(as .zip)
includes: /armor , /art , /environment , /gui , /item , /misc , /mob , /terrain , /title , pack.png , pack.txt , particles.png , terrain.png .
I had something here, but then it stopped being here.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
