I kept these simple and inspired by the old spruce planks i had before. Diagonal, with bits of metal holding the broken boards together.
Since there are 2 kinds of spruce trees now, the dark purplish burnt ones in the cold taiga, and the redwoods in the megataiga, i used colors from both.
It uses repeat ctm with random ctm over it to add bits of scrap metal nailed over holes and such.
I really wouldn't recommend building an entire house out of this one alone though, since it uses the same texture on all sides.
Not only are they unused, but as of a recent snapshot they've been removed altogether. They used to be "generic villager" which wouldn't occur naturally (only in spawned in), but one of the snapshots changed how villagers trade, and this was causing conflicts with the generic villager, so they decided to remove it outright.

The seahorse is the clownfish, because it's rather orangeish.
The green one is the cod, since it was my original fish texture.
The salmon is the salmon, since it's a salmon, and salmon are salmon.
The angler fish is the puffer fish, since it looks dangerous.
I also did the horse armors and empty armor slot icons:
All that's left really is trapdoors, and random junk varients for plants. Well, those and whatever else i decide i don't quite like and spend weeks redoing before the release...
I'm not sure if I'm the only one having issues but I hope I'm not.
I'm not able to use Broken Anachronism v14 for reasons I don't exactly know. When I select it and click "Done", it nearly crashes MC and deselects Broken Anachronism. I'm not having any issues with any other resource packs and it'd be great if anyone could help with this. (edit: using Optifine Ultra, that may be important.)

Well, it does use a lot of RAM for what i imagine is texture caching. It does freeze up while it loads however, and takes a while to load. This is normal. But crashing isnt. Try pushing f3 ingame and seeing how much memory it has to work with. If it's around 1GB, you'll need to add more. If it's well below, chances are your 64 bit java needs updating.
To allow minecraft more RAM:
In the launcher, click "edit profile" and go to the bottom, enable JVM arguments and change it to "-Xmx2G"
The 2 is the amount of gigs of RAM minecraft is allowed to use. You can increase it to your liking of course, but 2 seems like enough for me.
It will still freeze up for a bit when you try to apply my pack, but wait it out for 10-15 seconds, it won't run out of memory and crash.
Also try switching packs from the main menu rather than ingame. It seems to go more smoothly that way for some reason.
I already have 2gigs of RAM allocated--wait why is it one now? Alright I'll just fix that and see if it works. . .
edit: it didn't I'd allocate more RAM because I do think that's what it is but I don't really have much ram to begin with haha. Thanks for the help anyway.
edit(again): I decided to try using it on vanilla. It loaded just fine. Then, I closed it and edited the profile to have optifine. It crashed. I tried MCPatcher. It crashed again. Both crash reports say they can't fit carpet(number) but it's a different number for MCPatcher than for Optifine. If you want em here's the reports:
Oh! I'm not the first to compliment you this time!
Having watched your pack develop, it is without doubt one of the most ingenious, imaginative and fascinating collections of textures I've seen in all my years on this forum. Aside from IMHO you being one of the best practitioners of ctm in the business, one of the most ingenious inventor/animators around, your pack has acquired through sheer hard work, notwithstanding talent, an amazingly deep individual style that is unlike anything that has gone before.
The thing I admire most about your work though and the thing that gives it such a unique quality is that it doesn't rely on slick photographic techniques or cute 'cartooniness' (both fine styles, but way over-used), instead yours is more about a traditional painterly or illustrative technique and for you to have all but finished a pack in such a relatively short space of time in that style is really unbelievable.
Now I say all that, without even having downloaded the latest update! However I've scanned back and looked at all the awesome screenshots, especially the ctm, which just seems mind-boggling to me, so I'm very excited to be at the point of being able to now use it at last and glean some useful tips regarding biomes and ctm.
I'm stuck away from my main machine, though, so I definitely won't be able to run it at the moment (I can't run my own pack on my laptop, and I know how much yours will have grown this past few months).
*************************************
Incidentally having just read the post by Kuraulga above, I'm not sure the memory edit works properly at the moment.
Recently I've had problems with adding more ctm to my pack for the new 1.8 stone (I've got 24Gigs internal memory to play with) and increasing the amount of memory allocated to Minecraft in a profile didn't alleviate the problems of stuttering and lag that suddenly plagued my world of Newglim when I added yet another set of 'repeat' ctm.
I admit my city does contain massive amounts of redstone constructions, over-use of animations including those in picture frames, etc. and I think adding that one extra set of repeat ctm textures tipped it over the edge! When I took it out, everything ran smoothly again. When I put it back in and took out another set of repeat ctm...things also ran smoothly.
My worry is that there is a limit to what we can expect from Minecraft now, particularly in the light of Mojang's recent additions like stained glass etc. I may just be doing something wrong...highly likely in my case, and it may just be the fact I was messing around with a 1.8 snapshot and a beta MCPatcher, but it was a bit depressing to think about reaching a limit on a machine that has a pretty good spec., especially when there's a lot more 'repeat' and 'random' ctm I need to add and Mojang will be adding ever more varied blocks! I just need to be a little more circumspect with how I build stuff in future.

Retired StaffI could add some plank ends if that would help break it up. Right they're just really long planks...
Yeah, if you could break them up, it would look more like wood and less like brown stripes.

Retired StaffRepeat ctm with 3 random variants per tile. Mostly just scraps of sheet metal nailed over broken boards.
View the image at full size to see them.

Retired StaffFrom left to right:
Oak, birch, spruce, jungle, acacia, dark oak.
And that concludes the tree-related textures. They're done. All of them, done.
Just a few fish, some horse armor, and a few loose ends until i get this released.
As for what textures are left, the green villager is still default.

Retired StaffSo today i did the new fish:
Since it isn't too obvious:
The seahorse is the clownfish, because it's rather orangeish.
The green one is the cod, since it was my original fish texture.
The salmon is the salmon, since it's a salmon, and salmon are salmon.
The angler fish is the puffer fish, since it looks dangerous.
I also did the horse armors and empty armor slot icons:
All that's left really is trapdoors, and random junk varients for plants. Well, those and whatever else i decide i don't quite like and spend weeks redoing before the release...
Edit: Also instead of sleeping i made trapdoors.
With fancy renderpass 3 glass.
Bein' normal for suckers.

Retired StaffYep, quite a while ago. Those are actually some of my better textures.
Needless to say, building an entire house out of it and nothing else isn't reccomended.

Retired StaffAlso, i've just added a custom language addon. Check the addons section for it.
