Hey 13th, I just wanna say I love this pack. I've been using it since it came out (kinda switching between yours and Glimmar's) I'm a huge fan of Steampunk and the apocalyptic touch just makes it to me.
I do think the OP needs a little cleanup though, the screenshot section especially. It's kind of painful to read through to be honest)
I was just curious to see what you were planning on doing with the new Stone and Slime blocks?

I'll redo the OP along with the release of the next update. I accidentally messed it up pretty badly when editing it a little while back, and just sort of temporarially patched it up until i get around to fixing it.
As for new stone and slime... no ideas as of yet. I haven't given them all too much thought.
I'm thinking the slime block might be bellows or perhaps something with springs. Something logically bouncy, but not slime.
As for stone, i figure i'll have a good idea where i want to go with the new ones once i've redone the old stone texture and figured out where the new stones spawn. If they're mixed in with regular stone, it might make sense just to have them as just another color of stone with a somewhat different texture, so they blend well. If they're rare or something, i might turn them into fancy marble.
I got a suggestion for melons, which has been done a couple times, but it fits with the melon's role. I would like to see the melon as a box of supplies, from long ago, or long in the future.
So what's on your to-do list before the next update then? Flicking back through the pages of this thread I can see how much effort you've put into the 1.7 stuff, and the biome overhauls made my jaw literally drop lower than New York's temperatures.

It's not a bad idea, but is a bit overused imo. Every apocalyptic pack has done that. Plus, since this is a plant overhaul i'm doing, i'm focusing in making all the plants into plants... The occasional non-plant texture added through ctm won't hurt though, but unfortunately i can't do that with melons all too easily since they use multiple textures per block.

Birch trees, birch and spruce planks, all of the wooden stairs provided i can figure out the proper metadata values to texture them individually, melons, pumpkins, cocoa pods, poppys, saplings, new fish, and horse armor.
I went with pretty much the same concept i had before for the melon, but fixed all the serious problems it had. It was meant to be purple all along, but my old computer has serious color issues appearently, so it actually ended up being deep red.
As for the cocoa pod, it's a mutant doll's eye that goes to seed.
I redid plowed dirt, cactus tops, and pumpkin/melon stems.
Not a whole lot, because i spent most of the day trying to force birch leaves to allow transparency. I did get it working... but not well enough. It messes up all the other tree types. Ah well, hopefully someone in the McPatcher thread knows what's going on with it.
New birch trees! Well, some of them at least. I still plan to redo those paper/plank trees i had before and improve on that concept, but i thought it might be neat to have a special varient of birch trees just for the birch forest biomes.
Sure, they look absolutely nothing like a birch tree, and the planks will make no sense coming from these, but i thought it might be a neat idea. They're birch inspired at least... well, sort of black and white themed.
Dark trunks and pale leaves... i tried to make them look a bit transparent by having the lower layers show through the top one, even if it is at 100% opacity.
Too bad i can't make them transparent without making all the other leaf types transparent as well.
Nice!
Well, you could possibly just tweak the color of the planks and make this the base varient while the paper trees would be a secondary varient and than it would make sence, because the wood would (hehe, would wood) pop out of the crate once you break it.
Nah, the actual planks will be light colored. There are enough dark woods as it is.
I'm thinking though that i might do some kind of darker wood with flaking white paint.
That's the idea. I just need to find a decent way of making flaky paint.
Personally I think the flaking paint would be cool if they ever decided to add colored wood instead of continuing coloring everything else. That's just me though.
I finished the new birch leaves. I kept to the old concept, but improved on it.
The leaves are still just leaves drawn on scraps of paper, but the type of leaf varies, and there is other random drawings mixed in. Hopefully it still resembles a tree though. Dirty scraps of paper held together with staples.
It uses repeat ctm. Each scrap of paper is hand drawn, so... this took a while.
Detail:
Anyway, it looks rather like junk piles when seen from afar, i think.
As for the trunks, i'm thinking i will have them as bundles of wooden beams with wet black rot at the bottom, and metal bands holding them togther. Maybe an item number or something stenciled on a few with random ctm...

It's a pretty short list at this point.

Retired StaffIf you watch it long enough, the glowing one's eyes blink, but very rarely. It cycles through the base animation about a dozen times before it blinks.
Itching for the update.

Retired StaffProbably not, since it still works. It's a dirty green overlay. Since this version and the last both had green lenses, it's still relevant.

I am imagining an evil guy who laughs while twisting his mustache whenever I look at this.

Retired StaffYep. The regular birch tree will be made of paper and boxes still in the rest of the world, but ill be redoing the design.
I just wanted to give a bit more variation to the world.
