It looks absolutely incredible, I love the way it looks.
But I can't help the feeling this new stuff is starting to be a realism pack rather than a steampunk/apocalyptic/surreal one, which I think is a bit of a shame. But bravo on the textures themselves!
And for the easter egg... hmm... how about something similar to the pharmaceutical symbol as tall grass?
I don't really know why, but hey... surrealism. ;D
Don't worry, it won't be. It's always been more realistic than cartoonish in style, but i won't be making it a nice, clean world where everything is perfect and thriving. But even in a post-apocalyptic world, nature does sometimes thrive.
Most of the other 1.7 plants will be very sickly looking, or be replaced with carnivorous plants or fungus (not mushrooms though since it would be a conflict.) It will help give the world that dismal apocalyptic look, plus the rare variants will be mechanical and mysterious in nature, such as that thing i made for the mesa biome. I haven't forgotten what my pack is about. The entire mesa biome is however pretty dead as it is. Yellow and brown are not healthy colors for grass to be.
Roofed forest looks great!
I wonder what the paintings will look like? I feel this is a crucial point in the development of any texture pack, because paintings show the underlying nature of the pack itself. So here is the choice: will the paintings be apocalyptic, steampunky, traditional, or a compination of the three?
Mostly thematic elements. Pipes with fancy valves that you can stick on walls, old curtains, definitely something with gears, not sure what yet, old signs, and of course some surrealistic paintings. I want to add some vents with fans inside with spinning blades as well.
looking very good so far, it fits very well with the pack apocalyptic and mysterious atmosphere. do you have ideas for the logs already?
Logs will be really gnarled and knotted, lots of random ctm for randomization of patterns and swirly bits and knots and such, maybe the occasional interesting stuff stuck in there.
I know you've still got plenty of work to do on vanilla, but just wondering: do you think that at some point in the distant future you might make textures for mods, like Soartex and Sphax have done?

I will most likely add mod support in the future, yes.
And i don't have that much more to do on vanilla. Once i get up to date for 1.7, all that will be missing is the paintings. It's about 98% textured.
Wow! This pack has come so far! The textures are amazing and have a bit of an eerie vibe, very fitting for the post-apocalyptic nature of it. Also, the witch texture look amazing! I love how you made them Plague Doctors!
Also, I the glass works perfectly for display cases! Here's a screenshot of one I made! (Haven't done a screenshot like this sense wayback when this pack was new).

Now that there's stained glass, i was thinking of reducing the opacity a bit on the regular sort.
On the note of this resource pack, I was considering using it in an adventure map, would that be okay?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, so... i guess i'll give you the basic rules i have:
Using my textures in a remix pack, or redistributing it in any way, including re-hosting it = not ok.
Using my textures in a custom texture pack for your own use that you never ever upload or distribute or share with anyone else = fine with me.
Making my pack the official pack for your server or map (which i think is what you're asking here) = extremely ok.
Just as long as you aren't bundling my pack in the download of your map. You can link to it though, of course, and recommendations are always appreciated

Retired StaffThe large oak leaves are really just a tangle of branches using repeat ctm, so they tile quite well.
The grass in this biome is albino, since it has never seen sunlight, and i added some unhealthy and withered looking clumps of tall grass as well.
Ill do the trunks up all knotted and gnarled to fit with the theme.

Retired StaffThis was a tricky one to texture. It's a 4x4 repeat ctm, so 16 tiles, but then most of those tiles have randomly interchangeable variants.
Here's the result.

Retired StaffI think it could be because of how it connects to the ground there and makes a hard line... i could probably do something about it.

Retired Staff4 variants to keep things from being too stagnant.
