One clockwork, one electric, one internal combustion powered.
The electric one uses small motors around the limbs and has wires going to each joint. This isn't a sophisticated robot, but something scrapped together around a human skeleton. Here's what i have so far. Some sort of electric eye type thing, and an earhorn i might save for the clockwork variant instead. Motors on the scapula to rotate the arms, a battery attached to the spine, and some wires... it needs more. Give me some ideas as to what i might add?
If anyone has any more types to suggest, suggest away.
The electric one features small motors driving fake tendons in the limbs, rubber feet due to how i had to orient the legs, electronic sensory organs, such as a... doodad... powered... eye, and some hearing ear things, and whatever that thing in the pelvic bone is... and lots of wires. There's an oscilloscope there below the sternum. That's going to be animated to have a technologyish looking wave on it. I will be animating the exposed wires in the eye socket there to periodically spark, lighting the inside of the socket.
As for the other 2 variants, i'll be doing a clockwork one with gears and such, and a few bones here and there replaced with metal.
I was thinking of doing a dieselpunk one as well, with some kind of engine inside of it and exhaust pipes on the back.
Some of the bones are replaced with metal, and where the bones are metal i've made them pointy and ornate.
There are some gears in there too, and the legs have chains attached to move them... Everything is controlled from a belt drive going up into the head.
All of the gears, and the belt/chain thing in the middle will be animated. It looks a bit of a mess right now, but when everything is animated it will be much easier to make the visual distinction of what's what. I need to adjust some contrast and fix the feet i think as well.
I finished the electric variant of the skeleton. Like it? There will be 3 types of skeleton AT LEAST. If anyone has any more types to suggest, suggest away. Are you? Already? I have another one. Steampunk skeleton varient is done. Some of the bones are replaced with metal, and where the bones are metal i've made them pointy and ornate. Skeletons are done. I decided not to do a dieselpunk themed one, since trying to fit in larger parts that would be needed just wouldn't work well. So, i added an extra creepy armless metal skeleton with eyeballs, and rusty nails sticking out of it. I finished the animations on the other 2 as well.
it would also allow for some funny references to be put in without completely ruining the originality of the object.
Not sure but it may be possible, With the metadata give command I heard something about lore being addable.
I will be meeting with a whole church full of Minecraft hierophants, will ask them if it's possible.

I have to say, I'm really liking what you've done with the skeletons. Top notch (pardon the pun) job there.
Have you decided what course you will take once 1.7 is released? It looked like there was a slight majority saying "finish mobs first", with the "finish mobs and 1.7 stuff at the same time" barely behind in the poll, last I saw of it. Based on that, will you just focus on the mobs and release an update then? Can't wait to get my hands on the reskinned mobs.
And speaking of 1.7, looks like there are a small number of new items coming up which will likely be quite interesting, especially the stained glass. I can't wait to see what you make out of that…

Yeah, finishing mobs makes the most sense. It's what everyone has been asking for forever, and with 1.7 being a version behind isn't too bad considering packs can be stacked, so you could easily fill in the rest with a similarly styled pack (if you can find anything close)
As for stained glass... by now you know what happens when i'm given colorful blocks. I don't do simple recolors.
When i finally do get around to the 1.7 update, i might as well redo all of the old plants that need it as well.

Anyway... i did the zombie head today.
If you gently stroke him and tell him he's pretty, he won't eat your bone marrow. Promise.
Thoughts on it? I could definately use some ideas for the body. I was thinking of just doing shredded up suits in a few variants (changing the face a bit too of course) But if anyone has any better ideas, i'd like to hear them.
I think it looks awesome.
But since its a zombie make his face ( and also body in the future) a little bit more decomposed, like some maggots, holes and other things, case it's a zombie, you know.
Actually, i am going with more of a dry, leathery corpse theme. Maggots and such are more for wet rot, which i might do for villager zombies.

As for things to add, maybe some sort of old computer sitting in the pelvis?
Like it?

Well then, stick around. There's a lot more to come.
Those look absolutely amazing! ^w^
Keep up the great work!
Yeah, the feet are wrong. I'll take care of it.
Anyway, have a look:

Very exciting.
Aw, no monocle or mustache? That's a shame.
Skeletons sometimes spawn wearing armor, most commonly gold. There will be skeletons with monocles/moustaches. These are just the naked ones.

In that case, how about some broken limbs and mummification bandages? Hell, a variant with no lower jaw would be pretty awesome.
