I just clicked the donate button to see if it works and it came up with an error.
Well, thanks for pointing that out. I looked into it, and somehow the post had become corrupted, and all of the apostrophies and number symbols had been replaced with random strings of numbers for some reason. It should all be fixed and working once again.
I'm thinking that by the next update i'll make a proper logo and get some screenshots together and redo the thread.
I am surprised you are not a professional artist(proffesional as in job) although u guess there would not be demand for pixel artists. The point is I am surprised that you don't have a job. P.S. you don't need sound equipment for everything, the main sound I think you would need equipment for are like the flintlock bow, movement and ouch sounds.
I couldn't handle a desk job. I can't sit around for too long, working on a texture pack is one thing, i can work for 2-3 minutes at a time, or hours at a time, whatever i feel like. If i were doing this professionally and had to keep at it for 8 hours solid every day i'd go insane. But thanks. Anyway, as for sound i plan to do a full on sound pack. Some of my redone mobs really don't suit the original sounds. A lot of it I will have to find royalty free sounds for and use those (unless i come across a tapir who will volunteer to be a voice actor at some point in the near future) but most of it i think i can put together fairly easily by smashing things together.
wow. well, whatever inspired it, its amazing. i love the pack. the only issues i have with it is how out of place the non textured stuff looks. but i guess when 1.7 rolls around, i can fill those in with whatever i please ^-^
oh, also, i used your pack to figure out the random ctm for dirt etc. i hope you dont mind :S
All that's untextured anymore are the mobs (well, and a few things that appear untextured due to the update, like birch leaves, but that's only because the file names changed and i didn't notice) Mobs will be out next update. I'll be holding off on the 1.7 update until they're done, since mobs are a lot more interesting, and people can fill in the gaps now with something HD easily. Not to mention the fact that i am thinking of just making a full on plant update and redoing all of the plant life, since i really don't like most of it. Oak trees have already been redone, the rest still need doing.
I don't mind you dissecting my pack for science. How do you think i figured out all this fancy ctm stuff? Dissections.

What are you going to do for all the new plants. Your creativity is amazing. Maybe the sunflower and be some kind of sattelite (that tracks the sun) or just a pipe sticking out of the ground.
I plan to give the donkeys/mules a seperate saddle texture from horses that better matches the saddlebags, and i still need to do the armors and horse overlay textures (the spots and stuff) but here the base horses are:
Ignore the glitchy textures some of them have on their faces, that's because the overlays aren't done yet and the game is trying to map the default 16x textures over my 64x ones resulting in the entire default texture just covering part of the face.

Looks great. They look a bit underfed but I guess that adds to the pack's mood.

Mostly i'll do what i've already done for the plants. Make wilted, or mutated type plants. I'm thinking i'll add in a few carnivorous plants as well. Perhaps some flytraps or sundews... And maybe some albino plants as well. Swampish things. Things with tendrils and vines, some things that look unhealthy and barely living, some things that look like they've come back from the dead, and perhaps a few plants that look like they'd win a fight with a lawnmower. I'll be doing some rare varients too that are metal scrap sticking out of the ground to add a bit more much needed steampunk style to the pack. I feel that i've been focusing too much on apocalyptic lately and not enough on steampunk.
I want to try to add 2-3 varients for each plant type as well, since they spawn in clusters of all the same plant, they need some variety.
Since texture packs can be mixed in 1.7, pushing back the update won't be game breaking, so im going to focus on getting the mobs done, however long that takes, release them, then i'll get on to 1.7. But i'll make it a total plant overhaul. I'll redo trees and all of the old plants, maybe even planks while i'm at it.
Also, since there will be new biomes, ill need to add some biome specific tree textures. For that forest that blocks out the light, i was thinking i might do a random ctm varient of one of the leaf textures that add some glowing eyes that are looking around. Not evil red eyes, but something with reflective eyes like this:
And i'll make the "redwood" biome spruce trees into actual redwood trees, since they are my favorite kind of tree...
Regular snow biome spruce trees will be smouldering and blackened, while the new non-snow tiaga biomes will have regular spruce trees which will be the base tree used for the burning type.

Is that an airship I see in the background or is it just a building you made that didn't load in fully.

wait what... thats possible? teach me your ways oh wise one! also, i thought i remember reading something about TARDIS ctm support... was that this pack?
oh, and might i suggest custom lang support? like for instance i noticed that coal seems to be chess pieces. you could name them "lost chess knight", iron could be "broken gear", etc.

Biome specific textures are entirely possible with mcpatcher. I don't know exactly how to do it yet, i still need to research that, but i know for a fact that it can be done. I'll just check the mcpatcher thread around when i need to do it. I'm pretty sure it's as simple as adding "Biome=XXXX" to the properties file though, iirc.
Anyway, yes, i was considering adding ctm to turn lapis blocks into a tardis, but i've reconsidered... Instead i was thinking that when i redo the ores (yes, they're all getting redone when i get around to redoing stone) i would instead do the ore a bit more tardis-y by adding vertical ctm support to make it a full on tardis embedded in the stone if it spawns in a large enough area. I'd make the surrounding stone texture minimal so that if you wanted, you could build a tardis out of lapis ore blocks and just have the embedment look like it's a bit dirty.
As for lapis blocks, i'll figure out something appropreately decorative to make it good for building.
As for language support, i plan to add it, but nothing to make things too confusing. The iron bar could be called "scrap iron" for example. If only it were possible to add a mouseover box for inventory items to write a description in, it would be excellent.

yeah, i was just thinking about lore earlier. i'm making poisonous potatos potatOS. their name is "Neurotoxic Potato", and i wanted to add some lore like "for science" or "you monster", etc. minecraft is becoming more and more customizable ouo

Mouseover descriptions on items would be a great way to form a backstory.

Hey 13th do you have the latest snapshot? If so I wouldn't mind seeing how the canyons currently look on your TP.
I don't bother with snapshots. Half the time the textures get changed around before the release anyway, and on release day some of the new textures that were in the snapshots no longer exist, and there are a few new ones that weren't in earlier snapshots. Sometimes they can just be interchanged because it was something as simple as a file being renamed, but sometimes something is removed completely and replaced with something completely different.
Aside from that, i'm focusing on mobs still, when i finish that release i'll do another. Not only will the next release after mobs be a 1.7 update, it will fully replace all of the ingame plants except for the few i actually like. Oak trees for example have already been redone. The rest need to go still. Since 1.7 supports texture pack mixing, you can fill it in with whatever you like until i get it updated. I want to add a ton of plant varinets, since they tend to spawn in large groups of all the same thing.
Whenever i'm streaming i put an announcement here on the last page of the thread and leave it there until the stream ends, so if you watch this thread, you'll see when i stream.

Once you've downloaded my pack you can do whatever you like with it, as long as you don't distribute it after.

Retired StaffMouseover descriptions on items would be a great way to form a backstory.
it would also allow for some funny references to be put in without completely ruining the originality of the object.
