Just wondering, for the CTM functionality, are you using MCPatcher or Optifine?
I was just over at the MCPatcher thread and found out that they are working on a new Custom Item Texture feature, which might be useful if you wanted to have different textures for coal and charcoal. I'm sure it could be used for other things as well, although I wouldn't want to distract you too much from finishing the pack. Just thought I'd give you a heads up, since people have been asking about that. The description from the MCPatcher thread is below:
CIT (Custom Item Texture) is a "hidden" feature were it could be possible to texture pack authors to have different textures for the same item depending to it's damage value ( coal/charcoal, new and broken tool ) to somes nbt values (enchantment, repair cost, Name and lore, book title or author, potion effects, head owner, fireworks effects ...)
For me, it serve to insert epic tools and some utility (showing if a tool is new, used or broken, insert of colored key and keycard ...).
Odisos wants to insert Drinkable pepsi.
Another creator makes pretty scary stuff like inclusion of the Necronomicon as a renamed book.

I wonder if i could add augmented textures for enchanted items and get rid of that annoying glow.
it's a bit basic right now, but what do you think?
I dunno, that glow is kinda cool, maybe alter it to fit the theme
Is that the crafting table book? It's quite neat, however my crafting table intentionall doesn't have a book. It's a sort of analog computer that processes data packets.
I was thinking it would have a special somewhat computery gui.
Maybe you should save the computer-ey GUI for the enchanting table?
Also, will everything (crafting, furnace, villager trade, etc.) have a separate GUI theme to fit with it, or will it all follow the uniform that you've already got set?

It's the enchanting table
I replaced the pages with sparks to create a "old but working" sort of feel
thanks for the feedback anyway, this texture pack is great!
If I may though, could you add more moving slots to the crafting table besides the one that is sparking out?, maybe one other that is twitching, but not sparking.

I was talking about the enchanting table, not the crafting table. I went and said the wrong thing.
Anyway, yes... some things will have a theme. Mainly things that do anything other than store stuff. Chests, dispensers and the like that just store items will use the general theme i have going. Any storage slots of any kind will, however i do plan to add funtional looking bits to the functional GUIs

Enchanting table, yes. I knew what you mean, but said the wrong thing. I do that a lot for some reason.
As for the animation, it would really be quite difficult to make it look right, since i'd basically need 2 animations of the same thing sharing frames, but moving at different speeds. It's doable, but would add a lot more frames than you might think, and even if it's a very small addition visually, it adds a lot more for the game to process, making it a lot harder on your computer to run.

ah, ok, I assumed it worked the same way as a .gif, but with the frame time defined in the .txt
when can we expect the GUI update
finally, can you make the ores a bit more recognizable? I understand how the redstone ore is supposed to look like an old steam engine, but some of the other ores are hard to identify unless you know what to look for

I will be completely redoing the ores and stone at some point.
could you make them look more like typewriter keys, or even rocker switches?
I had originally thought of old round typewriter keys, but realized it wouldn't work out so well, since round just won't work at all due to the size the circle would need to be to accomidate the square the items fit into. As for rocker switches, even though anachronism is a theme in my pack, i have decide that i will not add any plastic items at all. If it's plastic, it simply can't be in the pack.
i want this pack to go with an apocalyptic feel as its sort of core theme, wrapped in a steampunk asthetic. thus, all ores will be post consumer items... as in abandoned, garbage, scrap, or just plain lost.
in this case, diamonds are in some sort of locked box.
the question here is... green handle because it looks nicer (just my own opinion) or diamond handle because its well... a box of diamonds?
suggestions? feedback?
I Like it personally, but i find it kinda hard to understand WHAT it is, LOVE the idea, but all im asking is for some kind of label of some sort. (my opinion)
Make the mobs steampunk robots, like the creeper has gears moving inside the creeper and a tnt about to blow, the zombie and pigmen have their heads with their brains (as a core with moving gears) showing, the enderman has 1 eye moving like the ender pearl, and when the enderman is angry, it's teeth move from left to right, the skeleton should have it's mouth moving open and close like a grinder, the spider has wires connected from it's head to the body and to its legs, and electrical sparks go through the wires, and that's all i can think of

That might be quite a bit to work into it. I was thinking it would have a special somewhat computery gui.

That's the next release after the GUI actually
