Yea, but I thought you said it would only flick open when you held it in your hand.
That's alright, I wasn't sure if that was possible anyways.
Oh, right. No, there's nothing that can be done for that aspect.
But the creative menu has been screwed up since 1.3 came out i think... Well, i guess ill do GUI next. This pack definitely needs particles, and i could probably have that release up and running within a week.

GUI's are easy task, once you have a theme seted to it. Sometimes, also, msot of the work can be done by Crtl-C Crtl-V. unless you have a special theme for each, then, it gets some time more...
I'm thinking of doing something a bit different for the GUI....
For the inventory slots and such at least.
A rusty steel border with a patterned red velvet inlay... of course there will be plenty of damage.
something like this...
Reddish purple like that. dark plum i guess you'd call it. It's a color i wanted to include, but never found a place for, meaning it will contrast nicely with all of the blocks/inventory items.
It appears I was right. Severed faces for zombie meat. That's pretty twisted. I like it. Everyone's got their own twist on the whole "Rotten Flesh is people!" thing, eh? Don't quite get the chess knights though.
It still disturbs me slightly that Notch added week-old people pieces as one of the meetable eatables.

The chess knight is coal. I decided to do a charcoal texture instead of a coal one... In minecraft they're the same thing, so... it's burnt wood. I was just trying to think of the most interesting solid wood item that would be the right size, and a chess knight seemed logical.
Speaking of the chess knight as Coal… got any plans yet for the Coal Block which was just revealed today in the latest snapshot? Storage block for coal, crafted with a 3x3 square of coal, and can be used in a furnace to cook 72 items per block. Unfortunately, it cannot be made with charcoal, only coal.
No rush to make it, just wondering if you had started to think about it. Looks like they are hoping to get 1.6 out sometime this month, but there is no set date as of yet.
hi, i’m following your progress since quite some time, and i really like the released version! of course the untextured mobs and GUI greatly obstruct the immersion.
also i’m kinda accustomed to the 32×32 of JohnSmith’s, so let’s see if i will grow to it. i’m speaking of the dirt and other dark blocks with tiny, yet low-contrast details: i think the dirt looks dull from a distance.
all in all, i really love it, and especially like that you’re breaking the CoD color palette a bit by intruducing colorful quartz and so on.

I'm thinking it will be an alternative plank type texture. Thin logs vertically standing next to each. Burned though. Used firewood. Ill vertical ctm it and give it custom end textures so you can see it's a solid block of bundled logs, burnt black. sound good?
I'm interested in more suggestions though as to what i might do with this.

I'm not familiar with the cod palette... i've never heard of it, though i don't know much about palettes, i don't technically use one. I have a general idea of what colors i want to use together, but no actual palette.
Anyway, after getting a new computer, i realized that a lot of my older textures are far too dull. I need to remember to actually add some brightness to them. A bit of curve work should do it.
Yea, the GUI can be pretty monotonous and isn't as exciting to anyone as the items/blocks/mobs are, but it's a big part of the game nonetheless and needs to be done anyway.
That said, I really like what you're doing with it. I like how the crafting grid uses the same slots as the crafting table. Is there a way to animate them so they glitch open like the table?
it kinda reminds me of saladfingers and some of the items are hard to tell what they are but that can be fun sometimes. I'll definitely be trying it on.

Possibly, but might make it a little hard to use.

That's alright, I wasn't sure if that was possible anyways.

I have an idea for diamond/gold armor helmet... Gas Mask!!!
Just an idea. maybe for chestplate, air tank on the back.
Thought it might be cool. Thanks for reading!

Love how you did the crafting table, but perhaps, you could have more than one slot sparking out?
would be cool if another one was just twitching
