I finally decided on something for my nether quartz... blood and calcules (calcules are lumps of minerals that form inside organs, kidney stones, bladder stones, gall stones, etc)
They're in glass walled boxes... appearently the blood was originally packed in vials, but most of them have shattered.
Side view
I used fixed ctm to give them a logical top texture:
The quartz blocks will probably be some sort of muddy red and green marble-like material from smelting this junk together into a solid mass, box and all.
see you got a good idea for the block. but, will the pillar be just a normal pillar, or something else that works like a pillar? and the chiseled will be really chiseled, or will be cracked, ornameted, bejewed, or something like?
I used vertical ctm, hopefully this is decent. I'd been wanting to include green marble in my pack from the very beginning, i just now finally got a chance.

that comes to be one of the most awesome buildings blocks in the pack. enough said.

Good god, this pack is getting awesomer and awesomer every day.
That all looks amazing! I cannot wait until it is added to the pack.
getting close, unless im missing something (i probably am)
All that's left to add is the dropper, that new redstone repeater looking thing (i really should figure out what it does before texturing it) and the last few quartz types. (pillar and top)

I believe the repeater-looking device is the comparator. It takes two redstone signals and, if the signal coming from the back is higher than that of the side, it will emit a redstone signal out the front (at a potentially lower strength, subtracting the strength of the side from the strength from the back).

So basically it measures distance?
I suppose it could be used as a flip-flop provided it creates a steady signal after spikes.

I think that they also changed redstone signals so that they take into account how many redstone energy sources there are, so it can tell if you have, say, 5 levers flipped on one side and 3 flipped on another. Not entirely sure, as I haven't played with it, but I believe that's the gist of it.
Some ingame shots:
It seems to work decently as walls.
Thoughts?
it looks a bit like rusty metal XD. but that's aways good, anyway. by the way, the detector rail now has diferent texture to when a minecart is on it. the pack don't have one. sorry to give you more work hehe

Nope, it's just reddish stone made with extra blood.
anyway, i just tried that new track texture ingame. I'm just going to put the same texture for it activated, since you only see the edges of the texture anyway, since the minecart is on top of it.
It's going to one of those shotguns that you crack open to load, except in pistol form.
13th made a post about it a few pages back, you'll have to look.
That's exactly right. I plan to make each single frame of the readying animation (which has 3 different textures that make an animation) each into a 2-3 frame animation in order, which basically extends the entire process.
Also, i just released a new version of the pack, go check it out!

Bein' normal for suckers.

Then ill do a new release.
