Today i managed just one texture, but this was the most complex animation i have ever done.
I present to you, the autopick, assembled from nothing less than the finest scrap.
As you can see the pick is thrust forward by a gear driven wedge making use of the slight angle between 2 hinged bars. it is then retracted by the attached spring.
Oh, if anyone's wondering about the slight twitch at the end, that would be recoil... the pick head is rather heavy.

I got a suggestion for Diamond Sword:
A clockwork sword with a heat generator inside it that burns the person who's hit by it's flesh so it's easier to cut through, like a hot knife through butter. LITERALLY!

That's somewhat close to the plan. Basically, i was going to do a steam powered shishkebab type thing. (it's a flaming sword in fallout 3)
uhh did I install it wrong? when I switch to the texture pack everything is the default texture except the chest.
That's because you are using 1.5, the current download is for 1.4.7. The texture system has been completely reformatted, so it won't read any 1.4 or earlier packs anymore.
Ill be doing another test release that brings the pack up to the 1.5 format when i finish the tools, which ill be doing tomorrow. i only have one left, and i know exactly what ill be doing with it.

Diamond shovel... A belt driven counter weighted rotating autoscooper.
Diamond Sword... A superheated sword that vents steam from the blade. Know what's worse than being stabbed in the gut? Having the thing you were stabbed with start spewing hot steam inside you. It has bellows and a steam gauge. Think shishkebab from fallout 3, but... steampunk.

Diamond Sword... A superheated sword that vents steam from the blade. Know what's worse than being stabbed in the gut? Having the thing you were stabbed with start spewing hot steam inside you. It has bellows and a steam gauge. Think shishkebab from fallout 3, but... steampunk.
Holy crud, it'd be painful to be stabbed by the
Diamond Sword, both having a sharp blade stuck in your gut and spewing hot steam,
Good if you want your enemy's death to be long and painful.

It's a sort of hand held tiller with sets of blades spinning in opposite directions, great for breaking up dirt... It's really too bad no one will ever see this texture on account of any hoe beyond wood being a waste of material.
Anyway, I have just released another test version of the pack, that includes all of the tools and brings it up to the 1.5 format, Go see the OP for a download link
Hey, I blew in from Reddit. I'm the guy who had the ugly castle, and thought it'd be better to give you ideas/criticism over here.
I'm thinking for Netherrack, instead of having those boxes of radioactive stuff that you've got in the current release, you should switch it over to piles of used medical supplies like rubber gloves, syringes and tongue depressors buried in bloody stone. For Quartz, you can put electronic equipment like a Heart Monitor or IV system or something in there.
Also, I don't know if anybody's pointed it out yet because I don't have the time or patience to read through 40 pages, but right now Stone looks a lot like marble. I think it should be a bit darker.
You also mentioned earlier that you were wanting to come up with a sort of story to go along with the pack. I'd be glad to help with that if you'd like.

I already have a pretty good idea of the story that goes with the pack. I came up with it about when i started it, and i want to wait until i finish the pack so i don't end up making loose ends.
As for the netherrack, i want to keep the nether with a sickly green theme as it is now, but i want to expand on that design... I might just use repeat ctm on it and make it into just... rusty green painted metal with occasional random blocks indicating that it's biohazardous... in which i could embed surgical supplies.
stone will be entirely redone, along with most of the ores.
I'm not sure if you know this or not, but it's impossible to tell if Redstone is powered without particles on. You should make some visual change on the block itself, like wiggling pipes or something.
Endermen will be slendermen with pinstripe suits and bowties. I think ill add a few randommob varients, something easy, different color suits with rips in different places, and artifical eyes like this random in placement and number on their otherwise blank faces.

Gold Pickaxe. It's a saxaphone, that you can use the mouthpiece to poke rocks with.
Diamond Axe.
It's a chain driven sawblade with a handle.
