Hey 13th, I was thinking... do you have any particular plans for Glowstone yet? I was kind of wanting it to be some sort of (colored?)broken glass encasing with a lightbulb inside, since you can put Glowstone on fences and they make excellent street lamps.
Aaaand one more thing: Could you, perhaps, make a 32/32 variant of the pack once you finish it?. Maybe you could just decrease the pixels by half and it would still look the same. Sort of.

glowstone was done long ago... check the screenshots.
as for a 32x version, no. i won't be doing that. you can't simply scale down a pack and have it work.
and here's a summary of all of them together tiled.
im thinking i may change the frame a bit... which isn't hard to do considering how i did them.
the next test release is very close! it might even happen today if i'm not lazy. all i need to do still is redo the redstone pipes (i don't like their current state at all) and do ladders.
I might just boot up MC again to take this pack for a spin. Haven't played for a while and I've been planning on playing again when 1.5 drops, but I would play again sooner to try this out.

it's going to be a lot of work trying to convert the textures to mojang's new format in 1.5, so if you don't try it soon, you might not get a chance for a while. (unless i can find an easy way to convert it)

anyway, i did the last 2 textures i need to release the pack...
sponge, which is some kind of drainage grate:
and ladders...
EDIT: actually, ive just released it. stop reading this, and get to the OP!
Oh hey, I've been using the sponge as a grate for faux-liquid transfer machines.
Also, downloaded the pack and walked around my creative build for a bit. Some things don't quite fit, but that's more because I've been building it with Glimmar's pack, so paintings and some of the blocks are off. I love the redstone repeaters, by the way. Really digging the steam particles. Really like the pack so far.
Looks good From the screenshot in the first post, sad to see the cauldron skin didn't merge from sides to the bottom. Can it be achieved?
it could, but being that it's rusty, it would look incredibly artificial. i thought it was best just to leave it looking like the bottom was a different piece of material than the rest, since... it could very well have been replaced if the old one rusted through.

what things don't fit? that's the point of having testers, so i can know exactly what things arent right.
i already do plan to replace grass, dirt, gravel, stone, etc (basically everything i released in the first test version of this pack way back when i started, since i had no idea what i was doing at the time)
im also not too happy about sandstone, and most of the planks. i like my oak planks, but those could some contrast tweaking. and my ore blocks have to go too.
but anything else you can think of would be excellent.
The pack is great, (saw it on your reddit post and just had to download it), but the one thing I instantly noticed looks out of place is the sugar cane, it really should be rusty old pipes to fit the steampunk theme.
I just went through this whole thread because everything about this pack is beautiful and amazing and I loved seeing your progress. So I downloaded it and when I went to my game there seem to be tiny fires in the grass/dirt blocks?? Did I do something wrong?

A lot of my issues with items not really fitting are situations where I've catered my build specifically to Glimmar's texture pack, since that's what I've been using to build it. It's not a problem on your end in those cases; I was just saying that because of the nature of my build some things look weird. There are two issues that I do have, however. The cobblestone and mossy cobblestone blocks don't work together, as their patterns don't match. Here's an example I took from my wall:
This is the only issue that I would ask to be addressed. The other issue I have is something that I don't mind too much, partially because of the utility that the textures provide; for the stone, cracked, and chiseled bricks their textures are all different styles, so they don't blend well. Here's what I'm referring to:
All of this aside, I absolutely love the fog. Took a screenshot of the summoning tower that I have off in the distance.

i originally had planned to do that and i realized that i was getting far too many pipes in... so then i tried to do bamboo, but didn't like it.
i combined the ideas. it's meant to be ambiguous. some sort of dead reed that resembles rusty pipe.

no worries, that's a common problem that's easily fixed.
to run texture packs that are higher resolution than the default 16x16 you will need either MCPatcher or Optifine
i recommend using MCPatcher since it allows for the most features, however if you have performance issues, optifine will make the game run better.
You need to run MCPatcher or Optifine for HD Packs like this.
You need to run MC Patcher or Optifine for HD textures to work.

mossy cobblestone will be getting fixed too. to be completely honest, when i made the texture i had never actually encountered it ingame (that id realized, id come across dungeons before but not noticed it) and thought that mossy stone would be something one might find near a river, so i kind of made it an uneven surface eroded by water thinking of a riverbed. anyway, i might redo cobblestone yet again, it's better than it used to be, but imo needs a little more depth. also, im starting to hate my mycelium...
stone bricks are another texture i didn't fully understand the purpose of when i did them... id never seen a stronghold before and thought them to be artificial materials. (as in something that isnt in the game until the player makes it, like planks)
Just downloaded the pack earlier, and I've got to say I love it. As a long-time user of Glimmar's pack, it's nice to see another Steampunk pack out there, and I'm kinda surprised how well it works with what I already had built. However, like Duffman, there are a few things that don't fit, but that's more likely because some of Glimmar's textures are so different from the norm. I also understand that this is very much a work in progress, so I wasn't that surprised to see certain textures either still vanilla or missing all together (such as the paintings and anvils).
Of course, due to the nature of Glim's paintings, if I were to switch my main world over completely to this, I'd either have to take down ALL the paintings or use Glim's as replacements

a lot of my older textures will be replaced. when i was doing all of the complex parts in this last installment of the pack, i learned a lot about shading, and getting shapes right.
as for paintings that don't work together with glimmar's pack... am i the only one that uses a different world for each texture pack? (in ssp of course)

Oh, I'll probably start up a new world. I was just testing it out on my old world since it already had most of the textures in use somewhere. Also, it provides a nice comparison between the two. It was nice to see that my domed city looks just as neat (if not a bit more menacing) with a pack other than Glimmar's. If anything, I'd say yours makes it look more like a mad scientist's lair.

suiting, being that mad scientist is my dream job. (and what i was going for with this pack... wait until i get around to writing the lore)
