[HORSEPUCKEY], Amazon doesn't even SELL beer, do they?
Nope, but i don't really drink. I've always heard it's dangerous to drink alone, for some reason. It's probably not, but i've never really had the money anyway. I'm saving up for college some day.
Anyway...
New sandstone.
Old sandstone for comparison:
I was thinking i might do some biome specific orange clay just to make temples look better.

They changed it to stained clay in 14w03a. But it sort of surprised me, I thought it has been like that for ages now.
Oh, that's the issue. I stick to releases, I don't like testing so I let other people do the snapshots.
It makes more sense, I suppose. Makes desert temples less valuable though, my first response on seeing one is usually "Oh sweet, I have a bed now!".
An idea popped into my head today, I remember you saying a while back that you were planning on redoing the torches for your next update. I had an idea that they could either be turned into candles or something like the old gas lamps.

I was thinking i wanted to do something with a bulb with a neat filament in it. Maybe in the style of old gas lamps though...
Natural sandstone along with temples are great. I wonder though if it isn't too much pink in regard to the rest of the pack?
Well, it certainly stands out against everything else, but i don't necessarily think it's a problem.
It's based on a dream i had years ago, walking along a narrow ledge overlooking a deep canyon, all made of pink sandstone. There were actually screen doors every once in a while leading to park style bathrooms in rooms carved right out of the sandstone, but all the bathrooms were abandoned, and unfurnished, with old stalls but no sinks or toilets. I seem to remember getting chased by wild dogs and having to prod them into the bathrooms with a stick and lock them in there. Then at some point an airplane with a bus chained to the back crashed because it was off balance. It was a weird dream, but it had some neat looking sandstone. I thought i'd add it.
Should i make some pinker sand for deserts to match?
I think keeping the sand a separate color from the sandstone would be good. I also enjoy the new sandstone, looks very Petra-esk.
Note to self: Build Petra once the pack is updated.
Do it, i want to see it.
Anyway...
Here's my start on a new stone slab.
The top square of it is going to be the top side, and i'm doing that vertical ctm to make it into a pillar thing that just about everyone else who has ever heard of ctm has already done.
This is just the rough design, i'll shade around it to give it a proper carved effect.

That is no mistake a fine looking slab tex. Like most of your work.

New stone slab. It does that thing where it turns into a pillar.
Bet it looks a bit odd in the Villager butcher shops.
But then, the entire pack looks a bit odd, that's the whole point.
It's very nice for decoration, I think.

It's just a 1 block high double slab, right? Look at the last picture, you can see on the left what that looks like. It might work as a sort of... decorative craft bench.

Yeah, I know.
It's SUPPOSED to be a meatcutting counter, it's just a hilariously elaborate example of one.
I guess the grooves COULD have a point though, as gutters, neatly conducting excess blood and sarcoplasm away from the work surface and down the block's sides?

To be fair, have you ever actually seen a butcher cutting meat on a slab in minecraft?

Anyway, mossy cobble:
I did once, but I was feverish and asleep.
Also keep in mind I don't mean to be negative about your work in any way. The only real purpose stone slab has is decorative and it serves that beautifully.
Also, nice mossy cobble. It looks like it was left out for too long and got moldy. Which I believe is precisely the point.

You can see the carved ones in here.
And finally, here it is in its natural habitat:
Such improvements.
I was under the impression, though, that the orange and blue stuff in desert temples was wool, not clay?
