Man... do whatever is possible to find a job. This must be your top priority ! Your artwork is really nice, we like you texture pack but you can stop working on it to fix your really important problem, which is NOT finishing this pack.
I wish you the best and I really hope you'll get a job very soon and some other place to stay if you lose yours.
i have no chance of getting a job before next week, since that's when i have an appointment to take the driving test and finally get my license. ive already kept my applications for every place within walking distance up to date, none seem to be hiring. after that im thinking of finding a temp agency, since those are almost always hiring, pay well, and have the bonus of having enough variety not to get boring. they just require reliable transportation, which is why i could never work for one before. hopefully, i wont be a bum long.
ive already found out that pay showers do indeed exist, they have them at truck stops. also, camp grounds have them, and getting in for day use at some of them is free.
i was just panicing before i think, now that ive got an appointment for a divers license test, i feel a bit better about all this, since being able to drive on my own is an advantage ive never had, but always needed. its probably most of the reason ive never been hired, as the 50 or so places i regularly apply to within walking distance are in very crowded areas, meaning they are probably pelted with applications they aren't even hiring for to begin with.
but until then i dont have much else to do aside from research alternate methods of getting things, and making textures. but, back to the thread stuff! i ought not get distracted here

and the texture that fire turns into should you not have a patcher.
Nice textures.
But the sandstones look like it's made of wood I think. Maybe it's different ingame...
should i go grittier ya think? sandstone in reality has a streaked texture not so different from woodgrain.
i dont know what that stone minecraft has as the default for sandstone is, but its definately not sandstone.
this is actually based off of a dream i once had about pinkish sandstone mountains... there were also some weird little rooms carved out and lots of wild dogs and a plane crash, but... thats not so relevant.
Ive read all the post and tested the texture pack in both a new world and in your test world and first I will start of with the problem you have and I hope you can resolve it quickly even if that means you have to stop development on the texture pack(wich is awesome I might add). Now after that I want to say that the sand is too greenish especially in the desert, water flows down too slow from a ceiling, the iron block texture needs less black spots, why is the iron door with rust when you have made it ? If youve made it you arent going to make it rust are you? Also netherrack is too bright in the middle.Other than that everything looks awesome .
For suggestions the torch would use some sort of cables or conductor so coal needs to be something like that meaning you need to change the coal block too.You could make coal a metal or something that conducts but ments from usage in the furnace(or whatever you are going to make it) so you only need to add to the coal block something shiny oruty instead of changing it.Ow and make it look even more like a burned picture sence when I saw it I thought "thats a strange looking coal". Also in the diamond or it wouldnt be bad if you made the hole a little bit bigger. I allmost forgot glowstone should should give a bit more light when it blinks it. And finaly you should make everything unorthadox like the creeper(now they really are living up to their name ). Everything else looks awesome and I cant wait to use it.
well, the greenish sand is meant to look horribly polluted, personally i prefer it like that, even in the desert, but... ill look into seeing if i can make it tinted by biome like grass, water, trees, and a few other things are.
i cant do anything about how fast water falls. that is a matter of game mechanics. if its falling slower with my texture pack, chances are the higher resolution is causing lag for you, switch to optifine if you haven't already, or lower your render distance.
the iron block is gritty. ive already edited it a bit since the screenshot to remove spots that stand out too much, including some of the too dark ones, and the bright yellow one.
about the iron door... i have no idea what you are trying to say there.
my netherrack is bright, yes. its non-traditional. im not going to change it, however the biohazard logo will be optional, and i guess i could make an optional darker painted version.
coal will stay coal... i want the ores to be identifiable for the most part, at least keeping to their original colors somewhat.
i can't make glowstone's light level change with the animation. it's simply not possible, or believe me, i would have. i really wanted to
and no need to worry, i dont expect ill be making any "normal" mobs.

The cracks in the normal sandstone looks too deep maybe. And it shouldn't be closed shapes IMO.
I don't really know...
In vanilla texture, it's not realistic but simple. Sandstone is yellow like the sand, and it's like the cobblestone, so you it's sandstone? Stone made of sand.
The realistic material is subtle. And it's hard to reproduce that in a low resolution texture of course. It's why it has to be simple, and so unrealistic.

yeah, for the cobbled sandstone i originally tried spidery cracks more like what real sandstone would have. it was too obvious a pattern, so i changed it. sandstone is... difficult. but if i ever have the time... id like to use CTM on the cobbled sandstone to turn it into long cracks, since id be able to make a random pattern over the course of many tiles, it would look a lot more natural.
also, id like to be able to continue the creeper story block, showing the poor villagers being maimed by various other mobs.
IMPORTANT! - This download is not just the texture pack. it is both the test map and texture pack. you must first unzip this file. it contains the texture pack zip file (don't unzip that) the map folder, and a text document with instructions on how to add both to your game should you not already know how.

Everything looks good to me .You didnt mention that you textured lime wool and you havent the botom of sandstone. Also youve changed the sky color. Also before I posted this I cheked for other changes.I saw that you have changed red and white wool ad well.I remembere you posted that you want the wools to be like wallpapers. So if I havent noticed them that means that you achived that, meaning that you need to change lime if you want that is.Also I made this one alot shorter thatn it was.
some will be tiles (which work for floors) others will be wallpapers.
also.... sandstone bottom? i guess i missed one XD i figured the texture from the top wrapped to the bottom. guess not.
This is coming along really nicely. Great job. I'm really impressed with your ability to handle the HD textures. (I've seen many people who's HD packs end up looking like a smeared mess.) And you're still using gimp? Impressive.

yep. just updated to gimp 2.8 a few days ago... i gotta say, i want 2.7 back :/ 2.8 lags and rezises my brushes when i dont want it to.
I mean as far as interest goes. But technically, I'm just doing the texturing and modeling. Dancel.de is doing all of the code.
well it looks to be coming along well...
i wonder though... why is no one downloading this test pack? the last one got tons of downloads and feedback, but this one... not one person has mentioned that they downloaded it. it has gotten some downloads, adfly says so, but... no feedback. its a test version, getting feedback is the whole point of it.

I havent been able to grab it yet. the site wouldn't pop up. I'll try again now.

Retired Staffmy diamond block texture (its animated by the way, there is a slight rippling effect on the diamonds, like water... kind of)
i had no idea what to do with diamonds to make it a block, so i figured id set them in some tarnished silver in an interesting pattern.
thoughts on this?
I wish you the best and I really hope you'll get a job very soon and some other place to stay if you lose yours.
The diamond block is great by the way.

Retired Staffgold ore. for reasons i cant comprehend, its excessively dark ingame... note the original texture in the top corner, the ingame texture is the rest.
i had the brightness maxed, and a well lit room... no idea whats going on here. everything ingame is dark. i need to mess with some stuff i think.

Retired Staffnot really, im just doing textures. you are doing a mod that adds textures, thus you have to do both modding and texturing.
