Hmmm... I see something about the diamond block. A big diamond trapped in some glass. The diamond shines in some mysterious way in some thick fog inside this glass block you know... in a dark blue light or such. I have the picture in my head, impossible to take it out and put it anywhere. Maybe a metallic structure with rivets, and glass panes you know...

Edit: your iron and grey wood plank are great
like its on display in a glass case like in a museum?
im not so sure i could make that look right, seeing as i can only edit the outside of the block... it would just be too flat, being 2d. its a good idea, but just not practical to make.

Not a museum display, just a simple metallic structure with rivets and glass panes, and you can see a diamond glowing in some thick fog inside. The diamond seems to float in the block. I know what you mean about the 2D, but with the fog, it could make the trick. Well, it was just an idea
By the way, the trapdoor is really nice. The sides are fine. I'm not sure about the brown things around. How does it look without them ?
It looks like some hatchway in a frame, which is kind of weird.
OMFG this is the best Texture Pack I have ever seen and I have seen most if not all the Texture Packs you did great work!
well... this is my first, so... im not quite sure what ya mean. unless ive done a few i forgot about XDI currently am looking for suggestions on anything interesting to do for the following (obviously if i post any completed versions of these textures i probably dont need suggestions, except on how to improve the completed texture, unless you have a really, really good idea that you think might warrant replacing the one ive got. by all means, ill hear them and if i like it enough ill replace it)
anyway, bombard me with ideas for the following textures...
planks (there's one variety i made that i dont much care for and would like to change, even though i actually have 7 textures when i only need 4... i only have 3 good ones)
iron door (im thinking of having an aperture device looking window)
all 4 types of stone brick (willing to possibly customize a few into something other than stone brick, so these can be treated as wildcards)
I love this pack. But I don't like the diamond to much, perhaps diamond in some sort of goo or a broken chest with a diamond in it.
the diamond has been changed in the last test pack (so ignore any older screenshots) its still a safe, but now its far more obvious what ti contains, as the handle is diamond, and its cracked showing diamonds inside.
left is wooden, right is iron... so, what do you think of this? do i need to change/add anything?
My chief concern has already been taken care of - the doors have windows. Those packs that feature fully opaque doors don't work so well in a survival environment. I note the iron door's aperture panels have rusted - perfect, given that it can't be changed.
I'm guessing the wooden door was assembled from spare parts? Mostly, I'm looking at the wide variety of hinges there.

yep. in reality, since i dont ever have any money, (being unemployed sucks) i make things out of junk. functional things... often i end up making things looking a bit like that. odd parts that dont fit together very well. i try to balance the size and color so it looks good. i took that and put it here. i figure it goes nicely with the apocalyptic aspect of the theme.
and yes, i hate windowless doors too... walking into a creeper is not fun.
but since you mentioned hinges... i realize i completely forgot to add them on the iron door. that's a tomorrow problem though.
not really going to go into great detail here, but... it might stop me from finishing the texture pack, or at least put it on hold a long while... ill do my best to prevent it from happening of course, but... it seems like very bad things are ahead for me that will make it rather impossible to work on the pack.
ill work on it as long as i can though, and see to it that i eventually finish, its just... it might be a long while. hopefully though i can at least get terrain.png finished before anything happens, so its playable, even if the items, gui, mobs, and such aren't done :/
So... when's the next test pack coming out?
going off memory, here's what it includes.

trapdoor.
this is actually one my less complex textures. only 30 or so layers... many have hundreds.

ill have to wear my tophat, in an attempt to overclock my brain. it wont be pleasent, but this is for you, thread supporters.

In any case, I hope your situation (whatever it is) improves.
anyway, ill get as much of this pack done as i can before that, so no worries there, and i figure ill eventually be able to finish somehow.
