Hey, I know you have all that license-y wisense-y stuff, but, for my own personal experience, do I have your permission to add a few of you textures to the pack I am using. I will not publish it or use it other than to enjoy it myself.
Thanks!
As long as you don't upload it anywhere, you can do anything you like with my textures as long as it doesn't leave your computer
Since my snow is ash (mixed with actual snow) i made the snow biome trees smoulder. The orange bits are on renderpass 3, a separate layer above the leaf texture. As a result, they glow in the dark. Also, they animate and sort of sparkle a bit... like actual smouldering leaves.
The trunks are charred as well. The textures are biome specific, in the warm/non-snow taiga there are just regular spruce trees.

How ironic that the infamous cold biome from minecraft in your pack has smoudering trees. Any plans for the tundra?

In my pack the cold biomes are basically burnt out forests, the smoke and ash in the air created a mini-ice age by blocking out the sun. It's burnt, but still cold.
I plan to do a custom grass for this biome as well to blend better into the snow.
It looks nice, but...
It doesn't make much sense to me, so is it a cold biome or a hot biome? Is it snow or ash? How can there be smouldering stuff with snow around?
It's both snow AND ash mixed.
The idea is that there was some sort of forest fire here, and all the ash and smoke blocked out the sun making it cold enough to snow, so even though it's still smouldering a bit, it's cold.
I redid the ferns. The old ones were terrible. I did my texturing early today because i have to go to work. I just got a job Still, too late to get paid before Christmas, so i guess i'll be missing out on that again this year, but at least this is the last one. I'm getting pretty good hours too.
I need to mess with the color a little i think, and do something about the transparency, i used a softer brush than i usually do. I'm going to see if i can get the transparency to transfer over ingame with renderpass 3, and if not... i guess i'll have to mess with the alpha curve a bit.
Congrats on the job! Also really liking all the new stuff (as usual). Can't wait to try it out (again, as usual). Everything is turning out quite nicely, even if it does still need a bit of tweaking color or transparency-wise. Hope your new job doesn't distract you too much from the pack though, wouldn't want such a neat and well-made set of textures disappear before it's complete.

It might take me a bit longer to release textures, but i have no plans of discontinuing the pack any time soon. In fact, i plan to redo a lot of older textures, that's part of what's taking the 1.7 update so long. I keep getting sidetracked redoing old plant types and adding in biome specific textures everywhere... most biomes even have custom grass types. The regular dark green grass i've always had for plains and hills and such, golden dry grass for the savanna, frosty grass for the cold biomes, grass with bits of spruce leaves mixed so it blends well with podzol for mega taiga, and stringy white grass for the roofed forests... i plan to do something for swamps as well.
The job is actually good news for the pack as well. It may well make the leap from texture pack to resource pack eventually now that i have access to money. Sound recording equipment that is high enough quality for this isn't cheap, but i will be able to afford it probably within a month.
This whole time i was just holding out for someone to use the donate button so i could afford it, but that hasn't happened since 1.4
But now i can say for sure that there WILL be sound
Possibly even some music by popular steampunk bands, i am looking into getting permission to use it. I might give composing a try as well with one of those music generating programs.

Repeat ctm with lots of layers of different kinds of rock. I won't start working on that until i've finished the 1.7 stuff though.
I GOT IT, YES B1TCHES! CHOCOLATE VANILLA SWIRL WITH COOKIE CRUNCH PLEASE!
Alright then.

Bein' normal for suckers.

What exactly is the tundra though?
Ice Plains.

Tundra will pretty much be snow filled flat land... there's not a whole lot that can be done with that. It's just grass blocks with snow on top.
Anyway...
I added grass for cold biomes. It's covered in frost and has patches of snow/ash on it, so it blends nicely.
I did the log top for the burnt varient of spruce as well.
I realize the centers are a bit blank, but it's not a concern since they cross over themselves ingame.

It's a this.
It was partly inspired by the Bearded Tooth Mushroom. I went a bit Dr. Suess style with it as well. Like it?
A sort of spidery stick plant with bright colors. Yep.

Yeah, actually i think i hate most of the ferns. Those are going to get edited a bit for sure.
