You are a very prolific texture artist SteelFeathers. Every time I lurk in the TP forum, I see one of your threads. I think you do a very good job of juggling them, of keeping the "theme" very distinct between each pack.
I took Iridescent Dreams for a quick test drive and I must say I am in love with the vines; they're very "swirly" which gives them a fanciful and almost whimsical feel. Though I can't say it's my favorite pack out of all of your TPs; just isn't my cup of tea and all.
In any case, it may be because of the limitations of the color scheme but the textures themselves, to me at least, harken back to the retro video games especially in the 8-bit and 16-bit era. I suppose they (the game artists) must have encountered the same problems as you and dealt with them as creatively and as deftly as you have here. I don't know if that was the look you were attempting to achieve or just how it happened to come out but the texture pack looks great nonetheless.
You are a marvelous artist; you've spoiled all other texture packs for me haha. Please keep up the great work. Unfortunately, all that I have to show for my gratitude is my pittance of a thank you:
Here are some cupcakes that you can never eat because they are made of felt. (Now only if I were half as awesome at texturing as I am at sewing~ :P)
youre doing an awesome job updating the pallete, is there any chance the palette will be extended a little more so the colors dont have that much contrast and more shading ( not like realistic shading, if u know what i mean) keeep up the amazing job
hey steel I love this pack. If it's not too big of a deal, can you make the original version of this pack downloadable too? Cause I really like how you only used those colors
Haha, there seems to be just about an even split between 'don't change the colors!' and 'please change the colors!'
I personally rather like the novelty of a 16 color pack, and yet there are a few textures made with the additional colors that I simply can't let go of-- planks and endstone, for instance. Planks in particular I really love with the new colors, but hated with the old colors.
This, of course, brings up the dilema of having to incorporate the colors used in said planks into other textures, or risk having the planks look out of place. A lot of textures are unchanged, but there are some that I feel really needed a makeover.
So, long story short....I'm keeping (some of) the new colors. Sand/sandstone is still up in the air at the moment. I like the new coloration with the sandstone, but it makes the sand look too stripey...

please steel tell me what you think
oh btw i still think you should add more shading, still pixel art, maybe 5 colors on a block
@Infineo: Yup, I'm working on expanding the color palette and making things less noisey. :3 I'm not going to change that much, though-- I like the 'rainbow' feeling I get from this pack.

I saw this a little bit ago, but I don't know what stopped me from commenting. Well I'm about to fix that. I love it! The new colors are so... magical! I just love it!
Also, I like the less defined swirly sand the best.
Me too, or rather, the swirly sand. The less defined swirly sand picture isn't showing up (I probably will like it best, tho.) So when will be new and improved version be available for download?
Steelfeathers, you are easily one of the most prolific as well as greatest texture pack artists out there, and for some reason I find this pack to be my favorite of your work. I know it was made with time constraints and a limited palette, but the end result has such a unique style that I can't say I've ever seen matched, even by you. I hope you continue to update the pack. Personally, I prefer a lesser degree of modification from the original, grainy pack. A customizer would, of course, be perfect, if it's not too difficult for you.
Hey, Steelfeathers! Can't pretend that I'm a longtime fan, but since I stumbled on your medieval village thread a month or so back looking for designs to fit the theme of a certain server, I've followed your work and have been more and more impressed with every update (on, well, every pack).
I've got to agree with thetoytul on this one, though; it's definitely become my favorite pack, not just of yours, but of all. Not to sound too fangirlish, but it's really got an inimitable style, and I can't get enough of the retro RPG flavor it's got going on. I'm excited about the coming updates, too; the preview screens you posted are looking amazing. I just can't wait. In the meantime, though, I snapped a few screens of my own on a server I mod for. I'd be delighted if some of them might prove useful to you.

Thanks for the feedback! I always appreciate insightful feedback.
I don't think I'm going to bother with a customizer, since I don't intend to create new textures using the harsher color scheme, although I'll keep an 'old school' version up for download.

As soon as I get my rear in gear and stop mooning over transformers fanfiction.

that would've been my reaction if she didn't leave us with Enchanted, Feathersong, Doll house, this pack, Assassini
