Steelfeathers here, and I'm back with another pack (not again, right? )
Iridescent Dreams was made for the 'Sexy Palette Contest' (I'm not making that name up, btw) using a grand total of 16 colors. That's right, only 16 colors for the whole darn thing. We were given the palette below and tasked with making a texture pack from it. Moron that I am, I decided to give it a try. Iridescent Dreams was the result.
The Color Palette
NOTES:
Yes, this pack is very bright. Yes, some of the color combinations are strange. Perils of not being able to chose my own colors. However, after you get used to the brightness I think you'll find that this pack can be rather pleasing. :3
I might update the color palette at some point in the future to include more colors, but I'm not making any promises.
Updates (when and if they come) will be determined entirely by the whim of my inspiration. This pack was made solely for shits and giggles, and I don't see it turning into a full-blown overhaul of minecraft. I will only add things if I get the overwhelming desire to make them. I do, however, plan to finish the terrain.png.
Feedback is appreciated! This monster of a pack was one long excercise in color theory, and I'd appreciate your thoughts on how well I managed to beat the color palette into submission.
No, I'm not going to make it less bright. At least, not any time soon. See the first two notes.

I think this would be cool. I really like the chosen color pallet, but I think it would be perfect if just a few more colors were added to it. For the time being, this will be my texture pack.
Great pack, keep up the good work. Really glad to see that your packs are maintaining their bright and whimsical feeling, because far too many texturepack makers are falling in with the fad of darker/post-apocalyptic/simple designs.
Dang Steel, it's amazing what you've done with just 16 colors.
I did my best. About the only texture I really wish I could change is the endstone-- I want it to be white-ish, but there aren't enough light colors on the palette. :\

Diamonds and kudos for you
I'm not the biggest fan of dark/post-apocalyptic myself. I like some packs that have that style, like The End is Extremely Nigh and and Last Days, but most I just find too drab and...boring.
There's something really messed up with the second one though....the right torch is derpy, and something is out of whack with the reeds...do you have any mods running?
I don't think I'll make it to 23,059 packs. 23,058 is my personal limit. ^^
Because I have two packs that are 16x and three packs that are 32x. And the styles don't mesh at all.
Vote for me! When voting starts, that is. Why does your response have 1 rep but my thread doesn't have any? ;_;

Aw, thank you!

Oh, about the torches, I'm using the glsl shaders bump-mapping, and textures that don't support it tend to split. It's really kinda crazy, but the texture pack itself is still awesome.
A couple more screenshots to prove my point.

Ah, I see. Well I still appreciate the screenshots.
I like the gold block lamp-stands, btw. I need to get me some of those.
dude you are absolutely amazing at texturing ive been stalking you a bit , i also love lilyos and leostereos work
i think this is one of my fav packs you have done althought i like also 16 x textures but to be honest i dont love this style, its kinda hard to the eyes when playing, i love the default because even its 16x its fresh bright seeable, you dont get tired of it, i also love john smiths and i only know how to edit some textures but one day id love to learn how to make pixel arte. anyway keep up the awesome job!!

Retired StaffIt probably looks like derivation because it's 32x, has a color palette, and is pure pixel art. You don't see very many of those. ^^

Retired StaffI wish they were redder too, but unfortunately there isn't a bright red on that silly color palette.
