Invisible Items: Stone, Netherrack, and Black Wool.
Suggestions: Good for finding caves with ores, good for under water/lava bases due to block ability, and good for rp servers with secret bases and wars. I recommend using the black wool to periodically place around the underground parts of your base, this will also give a good window above ground. This is good if you wanna check on what other people are doing at there base.
Not sure, but it's pretty gamebreaking imo.
The only way I could see to prevent texture based wall hacks would be to stop rendering parts of the map that aren't in line of sight.
I'm no programmer, but this also seems like a good way to improve performance.
They might also be able to make certain blocks inherently opaque. At that point, you'd have to do more than just swap textures to be able to see through the world.

Notch should fix this.Wall-hacks are lame, especially in SMP.
How do you expect him to fix it? Huh?
I hate when people make simple, and x-ray texture packs...
