Stormman09, I am giving you the task to wake the sleepers and the giants... go now my friend, now that we have made a spark we must take the light into the darkness and summon the unforgotten!
i found a way to keep track of the sound files. we don't need to add more cave sounds to cover the new ones also we can add as many as we like in the future.
we do need to add the missing lists and sounds though.
i am also looking into the models file to find a fix for the remastered version not showing the color blocks "top" in the inventory. i will reroute the files for the carpet, clay and wool blocks textures into the optifine(was mcpatcher) folder.
I'm claning the lang file. Ill probably have a near-empty templater up soon, and then i'll fill in the old names, the ones that are already in the lore.
Maybe like mutant animal skins or salvaged plate metal or something? A scavanged riot shield, perhaps? The side of an old (small) shipping crate? A car door (pounded flat)? A cabinet door? A refrigerator door? One of those squarish manhole covers on hinges (you know the ones I'm talking about, right)? An ironing board? The back of a chair? The dish part of a satellite dish or radar array? Tea tray? Large book? Several books duct-taped together, end-to-end? Banged-up flatscreen TV (or would that be too modern)? One of the smaller wings from an aircraft and/or a wing from one of the smaller aircraft? Outer door from an aircraft? A less important character? The power of positive thinking?
I tried to fix the last days redstone, and I succeeded! To download, go to the link in the spoiler and near the upper right, click download, then click download as zip. Then, BOOM! After the download is done, you have working Last Days redstone that looks the way it was intended to be!
the old red stone textures need to be fixed they have the same glitch that the chests had, you have to make the under layers have the same textures where they are tangent with the above layers.
Did someone call for sleepers? I have some zombie villager textures made, they could use a pixel artist to go and add some fresh features, but for now my remixes will have to do. At least now we have something that fits the feel of the pack. I also put a couple of Randomobs textures together, just for variety, I'm posting both sets in galleries below:
I never did get any feedback on my last set of textures, are there any ways I could improve them? Please let me know if any of this lore or texturing is useful to the pack.
Also have some potential lore ideas written up for the Strays and Husks, and some revamped lost lore. Stray lore was written in short story form, and is coming in the next post:
Husk Lore idea:
Some kind of Lost variant that has been mutated even further by the radioactivity of the barrels and dust in the dumps, gaining resistance to the harsh UV and becoming a living source of harmful radiation.
Revamped Lost Lore
Originally people who were denied access to the H.I.V.E.s or attempted to set forth to find pure land again, these creatures are believed to be
the result of radiation induced mutations. Little is known about them, but they are considered to have been some of the original creators of the scrap-shack villages that litter the badlands.
The most common narrative is that radiation slowly turned these unlucky survivors into stiff, gruesome, inhuman beings. They wander aimlessly, driven only by their last and most vicious instincts. The radiation has mutated them, given them a lowered tolerance for UV, and with the thinned atmosphere post Event, it takes hardly a minute of direct exposure to the sun to push them over the threshold into outright toxicity. If you listen close to their moans, you can hear the last bits of humanity in them begging to be put out of their misery: even as they tear you limb from limb.
The most desperate of survivors might try to feed off their flesh, but will find it heavily contaminated by radiation, and unbearably chewy.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Sometimes I do things; mostly I lurk. I want to do more things. I'll probably just lurk.
There is a particularly nasty group of bandits in the colder regions, calling themselves, "Ettins". These are the remains of Surface Exploratory Team Eta, believed to be one of the last, largest, best equipped and most formal of the H.I.V.E.'s early exploratory groups, in the period following The Event, and preceding the collapse of the H.I.V.E.s. The Eta Team's mission was deceptively simple: explore an area of the surface reported by scans and confirmed by SP Eyes to be less ravaged by radiation than it's surroundings. They were to reach this area, collect samples of soil and fauna, and lastly search for a potential settlement site. Geared with weapons, Hazmat suits, water purifiers, food supplies, scientific testing and survival equipment, and rough knowledge of the route and potential hazards. They hurriedly carved their way to the mountains that the area was said to lie beyond, beset by lost and fighting off the desperate remnants of former Exploration Teams the entire way. Finally, they made it through a thin pass, only to find a frigid plateau, seemingly devoid of life. They attempted to complete their mission regardless, struggling to dig soil samples out of the permafrost, and unable to test, let alone purify the frozen groundwater. They established a camp, and it began to snow: a howling, cutting blizzard well beyond anything their gear or training could have prepared them for. Many perished. The unlucky survivors soon found things bleaker than they anticipated.
The blizzard had buried the bulk of their supplies, and worse yet, filled the pass, sealing them in. They began to wander, hunting for food, or a place to make shelter, and soon found that the frozen wastes supported more life than they first anticipated. Their numbers quickly dwindled, from original hundreds down to a few groups of dozens as they struggled to survive without food, water, adequate protection from the cold, any hunting equipment or experience, occasional bandit attacks and constant competition with the local wolves. Finally, dying of frostbite their Hazmat suits were never intended to protec from, little more than skin and bones, they saw a light in the distance. They ran to it, and found and igloo. Within it was a man in a crude coat and gasmask, wearing an odd green and black painted traffic cone upon his large head. The strange man offered them a deal: he would trade them potent tranquilizers to help them hunt, and give them the location of a nearby frozen river to find water and a stand of trees. In return they would bring him materials, and more live test subjects to continue his "research". Hesitantly, they agreed, leaving a few of their number as collateral. The tranquilizer worked, slowing a charging feral dog to a crawl, and allowing them to knock unconscious a handful of bandits. They got water from under the ice, just as he said they could, and boiled it over a fire with the wood, making for the best wolf stew they had ever had. They returned to the igloo with their bellies full for the first time in months, and their payment bound in tow. They collected their and began to train their collateral, and left to hunt again, asking for more tranquilizer, and promising another batch of subjects in return. This grim cycle continued until they began to consider tranquilizer an absolute necessity for survival, a few even took to using it recreationally, to slow the shaking of their hands and chattering of their teeth, to numb the pain. So I hope you can forgive me, even if you are so heavily drugged you can't hear my little story, but I simply must have more. I can't hardly hunt without it, and a deal is a deal.

I'll go grab a nice empty lang file.
I got a copy of the LOLcat language file. I'm using it cos its all nice laid out, not like the mess you get when you extract from the jar files
Who do I contact?
you have been here the longest, i was sure you knew everybody.... everyone
I did this last summer for all 234 pages of them, and very few showed up.
i found a way to keep track of the sound files. we don't need to add more cave sounds to cover the new ones also we can add as many as we like in the future.

simply add "ambient/cave/cave14" and a correspondingfile
the game randomly uses the ambient.cave.cave command and summons one of the listed files
