ok so sorry to be this kid but I need help. Ever sense resource packs have come out I've had nothing but trouble with them... I'm trying to install Last days and I just cant get it to work, I've tried all sorts of things from just placing it in the resource packs folder, to using MCpatcher, to converting it with Texture Ender and even just unzipping it, I cant seem to get it... I don't know maybe I'm just bad at this! haha but please if someone could help me out with some better instructions then the four steps it gives you on the first page I seriously would appreciate it so please any detailed instructions I really appreciate! thanks!

Right. First things first, make sure that you've got the right version resource pack and that it was properly downloaded. No errors, broken files, anything like that. happens sometimes on the server-side of things, so if I sound like that broken-record tech support guy don't take it personally. It's just standard procedure.
Assuming that the files you got are indeed 100% correct, you SHOULD be able to just open up the resource pack folder in your .minecraft directory and stick Last Days in there. If this is what you're doing and it doesn't work, I don't rightly know what the solution is. The whole installation process for resource packs is almost identical to that of installing regular texture packs. Just a differently named folder.
(Be sure you're not EXTRACTING the Last Days file, too. Again... these are just the basic 'help I'm having trouble' answers, so sorry if it seems like I'm treating you'd make every idiot mistake in the book. And hey, even if you are... we all gotta start somewhere.)

Showing My Support! Great Work Deserves Great Appreciation!
I'm not trying to be mean here but its a post apocalyptic scenario what do you expect
Actually I see his point, sure Orbital Industries decided to make irregular, underground complexes made from brittle metal plates, but that doesn't mean that OI planted metal plates everywere, so everytime I go creative and make something wasteland worthy, I use the "Redstone Ready" preset, the sandstone is perfect for surface and undeground rock.
There was a natural stone texture on the pre-1.5 customizer (you could copy it from the sprite sheet and create a new stone texture file from it for the 1.5/1.6 format). No such luck with the ores, though. If you have needs like that, you're better off ripping textures from another pack for private use. Of course, then you'll also have to change the ores, and it just gets messy from there as things stop fitting in with the lore properly. Nah, I think it's fine as-is. If you use the 'Subtle Dark' texture for stone, you can hardly tell it's there when looking at a distant cliffside! That's why I brightened the 'Dark' texture in the first place.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a sad story to tell.
I will not have internet for the forseeable future.
I have a monument and potential war for power on my server.
To arms, gentlemen!

I saw it and I subed because you have the potential of making the resource pack more popular.
I cry when a texture pack gets taken down, Anyway the resource pack on mediafire (the one with sounds for 1.6.2 too) keeps on saying permission denied. Please fix or upload a mirror :3
So, i was thinkig (a dangerous pastime i know) and i though, seince we're having problems with things working with vanilla, (i'm looking at you hardened clay). why don't we just make our own Last Days mod? where we combine things from the lore to make things fit us better, and to fully complete the "total overhaul" that this pack is supposed to create. we could change crafting recipies to fit our objects better, make world gen more wasteland-y, tweak the nether to make more sense, and various other things?

And possibly add things that were once in the old world that with the right know how can be rebuilt like the mining equipment for the mining rigs/desert pyrimids.

well, there's the ruins mod that lets you take schematics made with MCEdit, and have the custom structures generate randomly in biome specified areas including the nether.

Yay this plus that gives us things from abandoned warehouses to vaults the only problem is that as far as I know there is not a way to spawn random loot except in the form of blocks.

Maby not random loot, but if you make multiples of the same building, with different loot in the chests, the building will randomize, makeing the building look the same but, the loot will be different.
