A little scatter-brained today are we? For my ease of reading could you re word that? I couldn't understand what was going on there...
Can Podzol look like some sort of mutated glowing moss/ fungi? I have a possible lore for Podzol.
The bombs hit and the cities are all but destroyed, but stubborn forests of Redwoods still live, the trees still continues to grow thick and strong, yet the forest floor is.... different, moss (or fungi) mutated to glow due to the high amounts of radiation, the moss now killed the grass and covered the forest floor, rythmically glowing.
Can Podzol look like some sort of mutated glowing moss/ fungi? I have a possible lore for Podzol.

If you check the customizer there's a glowing fungi mycelium alt texture, would that work?

Not to be boring, but is there some reason why podzol can't just be, podzol? As long as the redwood trees above it are still alive, the forest floor would be podzol, if I understand the ecology here.

But then the possible radiation fallout from the bombs used during the war can affect it (The Redwoods can resist the radiation while the Podzol in my lore has to rapidly mutate to survive the radiation), remember, almost all biomes have strong amounts of radiation in them, except for cold biomes and Mushroom Islands (covered by experimental Fungaplast).
Podzol isn't entirely alive, and would be recognizably podzol as long as the needles were still falling and some acid-tolerant bacteria were around to eat it. The color and texture is more dependent on the fact that it's (low pH) organic materials than on the bacteria present. Lore is fun, I admit, but this particular bit needs about as much explanation as dirt.

My lore version of podzol is actually a mutated moss, moss from the enviroment accumalated on the floor, radiation killed the bacteria eating the pine needles, the moss mutated, it covered the entire forest floor, and replaced the bacteria by eating the falling pine nedlees. So instead of having a thin layer of leaf litter and grass, you get a thick glowing layer of moss.

Doesn't it kinda depend on whether or not it spreads? Moss would make rather less sense if it doesn't grow, wouldn't it? There are other, more significant things in 1.7 that need to be addressed anyhow, like the mountains of what are currently various kinds of machines stacked in layers.

Doesn't it kinda depend on whether or not it spreads? Moss would make rather less sense if it doesn't grow, wouldn't it? There are other, more significant things in 1.7 that need to be addressed anyhow, like the mountains of what are currently various kinds of machines stacked in layers.
The moss spreads kinda like spores, they release microscopic spores that spread by air. The clay canyons can just be Orbital Industries disposal areas (Areas were disfunctional machines and failed experiments are thrown).

That does however sound kind of lazy... I say we wait and see if mojang would just make new blocks. Keep our fingers crossed!

(I would change those certain clays to be normal in a worst case scenario)
Ok now that we settled the podzol stuff what about those pink flowers jeb was talking about hmmm?
You mean Jeb's wedding flower? (Pink Paeonia I think it was) If the flower is rare I think we should let it keep it's color (making it a beatiful sight while playing using the pack). If it's pretty common I think it being a piece of colorful plastic (a candy wrapper perhaps?) stuck in the grass.
But then again if it attains any special properties the texture will depend on it.
