I've been making this texture pack on and off for a while now, with some help from Burtsoon. Download it if you want.
it's still a work in progress, but so is minecraft. expect updates whenever
******************************************** Note: There are no "custom animated" portals or fire in this texturepack (yet), so make sure to set all of them to "default" in the MCpatcher's options tab

Some Screenshots
There's two versions of the texture pack: the original purple nether wacky colours and stuff (totallynotavirus.zip) and an alt version which has most of the original minecraft colours (totallynotatrojan.zip)

this is excelent! the biomes don't clash and the blocks have a feel that is not too dark nor light! this is one of the best 64x oacks that i've ever seenthis is excelent! the biomes don't clash and the blocks have a feel that is not too dark nor light! this is one of the best 64x packs that i've ever seen
It wasn't my original intention to release this to the public... and I knew if I did that the alternate nether/chest/'shroom textures wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.
So for now I'm going to blame these on Burtsoon.
As I said I'll make an alternate version that is closer to the vanilla colours to keep people happy!
I don't like the look of Nether. It's too... violet. Same problem with chests and obsidian. Can't say I like it, sorry. But if it's for your use mainly, who cares about my dislikes?
To those who find the nether/shrooms/chests/obsidian too FABULOUS I have updated the pack into an alternate version
It's about time! This has been on and off since July... Pretty glad it is out now, though. But yeah, feedback would be much appreciated, and I'm sure Dave (and myself) would be more than willing to make amendments and changes if people want it.
On a smaller note, I have some of the very, very old verisons of this texture pack sat on my hard drive. If anybody wants a laugh at how bad they are, just give me a shout.
Sure thang... also, the textures you see that are still to be done are probably not going to be updated until 1.2
Nice! Awesome HD textures and 'lil bit of fun :biggrin.gif:
Death note book and Rock Lee and Might Gai (or Guy) paintings?
Ahaha... close, but no cigar! (about the book, that is)
The pictures are often changing to match my preference. I may or may not post the old kz.png to show y'all
the previous version
(But Gai will stay, that I can guarantee)
I did the review on the original pack, I hope you like it, and I'm putting it on my topic.
Minecraft version: [1.1]
Overall rating: [8.8/10]
Quality: [9/10]
I thought the quality of the texturing was very good. All of the blocks looked very detailed, but I have seen slightly better. No texturing is perfect. The colouring and shading worked extremely well.
Colour/color scheme: [7.5/10]
The colours/colors in this texture pack are very well done and filled. The reason they didn't get 8+ is because most of the textures followed the original scheme. I particularly liked the fancy Nether.
Are the blocks recognizable?: [8.5/10]
The blocks were mostly recognizable, but the Nether used different colours/colors and so that was slightly confusing. The texture of them didn't make it too hard though.
Are the items recognizable?: [8.5/10]
I believe that the items in this texture pack are even more recognizable than the actual default items. I would definitely choose these items over the original.
Bonus points:
Originality: [0.5/1]
He came up with his own ideas for the Nether, but he seemed to follow the usual textures but much better for most of the rest.
GUI: [0/1]
No recognizable change.
Do the textures work together? [0.75/1]
They work together, but the Nether throws it off a bit.
Average of 8.4 + Average of bonus points (0.4):
8.8
I especially liked this pack, but it did have some small flaws, it is slightly better in the Legacy version but I used the original. :biggrin.gif:
Wow, thanks very much! I must give credit to burtsoon for contributing with several textures and a boatload of inspiration, though!
I agree with the nether unfamiliarity issue which is why I included LEGACY to please the people who wished to keep a very similar colour scheme. Also, you may or may not have noticed that all of the wool has a colour identical to the original, so all existing pixel art and similar creations retain their designs!
It looks very nice.
However, the gravel, or whatever it is in the nether screenshots, should have... well, something. Right now it just looks like noise over a single color.
Also, the lilypad looks so perfectly circular, which makes it look unnatural.
But as I said, I can see a good deal of effort went in to this, (Unless there's stolen stuff) and it looks very nice. :smile.gif:

Thanks for the constuctive criticism! I shall put that to good use! You're quite right about the lilypads and gravel...
I should really add some more detail to gravel/soulsand.
also, I assure you that none of the textures are stolen, all are made from scratch. I did get inspiration for some textures from other packs that I admire, though none are complete rip-offs.
I have updated the pack (as I said)
there are still a few things that need finishing off but I wanted to make a quick update so it was compatble with 1.2.4
Now with animated water and lava.

currently I have not done endstone...
I'll get right to it after I do lightboxes.
I plan to update the pack soon, or at the latest before 1.2 (so all of those snapshots get out of the way and no more blocks are added)
Thanks for the support/interest!
