I'm going to be removing support for the Mystic Mods in Junk Jack 1.8, as they will be replaced by (optional) Redpower 2 Support. Just a heads up.
In addition to taking stuff away, I made some changes to Ores and Stone today. Because Redpower has a copper ore, Iron is now the same color as Iron in the iOS game. Also, Lapis and Redstone no longer use Gem-styled ores. I think it's much more fitting, considering what they do.
Do you want me to post screenshots of the what I have done on the RedPower support sean? Like I said, I'll give you what I've got after I fix the flax. It's pretty basic stuff, but I figure some may want to see what I have.

Yeah, sure. You caught me at a good time to suggest Redpower, because now I'm really interested. I made my own terrain support, because of the new stone texture, but I'm interested to see what you have. Especially for Rubber trees and Tungsten Ore, because I don't know how to not make it look like coal.
Unless I'm mistaken, that should be everything, but if there is anything else you want to see, tell me. Sorry, I was going to put images in spoilers, but that doesn't work with the host I'm using, so I had to just use links, negating the need for spoilers. Feedback much appreciated.
That's what I have done now. If anyone has suggestions, now would be the time to voice them. I should probably make tin lighter. The fact that I can't(?) animate the ores from redpower will help to differentiate from the other ores that look similar.
I might also do something else for the regular Basalt texture.
They look nice, but I'm not sure I like the basalt textures. I would have gone with something different, maybe recolored dirt like PureBDCraft's redpower or dulled out obsidian like dokucraft's? The bedrock looks nice as bedrock, but I'm not sure I like it as a building material, and it seems like it could look a little ugly on a volcano. I would have just gone for black cobble for the cobble, as that's what the original was really. Bricks are alright, I prefer my basalt bricks to have a different texture then my marble ones, but that's more a thing of preference. New marble texture looks much cleaner than the mysticores one. Aside from that, the Nikolite looks frustratingly close to diamond, which is also true in vanilla, but we need not replicate. Not sure I like the change in the redstone and lapis, they looked more valuable before. Now they look like a common ore, despite both being very valuable. Maybe a bit of work on the lapis and redstone textures will improve them.

The difference in the two sets of ores are just what is a Gem (what you see for Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Diamond) and what is not. I don't think they look any less valuable than they should. I will concede that lapis and redstone still need work, though. I agree with you on regular Basalt, but we'll see about the other two.
This time around was noticeably better, I really like the Tungsten. Nikolite is pretty close to gray, even though it's supposed to be very blue, judging by the fact that you make "Blue alloy ingots" and it conducts "Bluetricity". I would make it much bluer, but more cyan than sapphire. I like the basalt, though when it's released I'll probably replace the basalt cobble with my own basalt cobble, actually based on the standard cobble.
The email notification spoiled it, gmail can't handle that little trick.
/technic are getting forestry back soon, and it's one of the coolest mods out there (in my opinion, ofc). I don't actually use Technic or Tekkit, I base my modset off of DW20's configs, but I do use many of the same mods, so this is an exciting development. I think that all the mods in tekkit are also in my pack. I have a uranium texture you can use, if you like. Not much real IC2 support, but at least the ores are out of the way.' class='bbc'>Nothing to see here. Move along.
Also, do you know of any good tutorial on Connected Textures support? I'm working on my own homemade pack, 100% my own textures, and I'd like to make use of it.

Not really, I just used the "Information for Texture Pack Authors" section in the MC Patcher OP.

Yes, but I haven't done that yet. Also, how has 1.2 not come out yet?

After taking this screenshot, I lowered the contrast on the Basalt and Basalt cobblestone a little.
