**The below versions come with a warning. I have not tested these and re-sizing images can be tricky There may be more issues with the lower resolution packs that with the 256x version. Also, I feel that the 64x pack take away from the feel that I am attempting to portray. However, I am aware that people have limitation on the resolution that they can run so I will keep it up as well.**
Recently I have been trying to find my style. Something that is intrinsically me. This is why I have been starting so many packs. I believe one of the most important things to do on your journy as an artist is to find your comfort zone, your style; something you can get excited about and keep working with.
I've been a doodler all my life and sometime around 7th grade I discovered that I prefer how pens feel in my hand. Now, 13 or so years later I still find myself drawn to pen and ink drawings. Thus I decided to make a texture pack with this method.
Unlike many of the other handdrawn packs I do not draw on graph paper. Instead I draw on art paper laid over a grid drawn in black sharpie. The textures are drawn as an outline first with a ballpoint pen and then colored and shaded with sharpies. After that I scan them and put them in photoshop in order to edit for tiling.

Here are the actual sheets that the textures are drawn on. This comes with a warning. The images are extreamly high resolution which is why I put them in a spoiler. If you open the spoiler expect a wait of a few seconds while the images resize
:biggrin.gif: Great job on this pack, definitely sets a new standard for hand drawn texture packs! I'm sure you realize the tiling issues, and i'm hoping you can get those fixed very soon :wink.gif:

I had started a colored pencil-based texture pack but never published it because it was taking wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long to draw each texture. I did like the textures I had though.
I like this, but I can see some room for improvement, mostly on the tiling. Keep it up though!
Thanks for all the comments guys. This will help get me through sessions like I had yesterday. 8 Hours of editing in photoshop for tiling and removing backgrounds. YAY!

Very nice, certainly unique. Will you be sticking to this one, 42?
Criticisms:
Blue-green shine on stone is a bit off-looking.
Stone is also too diamondy.
Cobble is overly blue.
Birch wood is too simple. Is it a 'final' texture?
Sugarcane has a small bit of black on the side.
Water looks like it's been embossed.
Mycelium reminds me of water.
I left tiling out of the criticisms, but those too.
I'd love to see this as a full pack, though I doubt I could use it.
What is the block on the right side of the last picture?

As for the resolution, is it, perhaps, 256x?
EDIT: All your page 2 is belong to me.
1 and 3) Since I am working with sharpie I have a bit of a limited palette. I may end up redoing those textures and seeing what I can come up with. However, since I only have two greys there will most likely be some odd coloring.
2) Yea, I have been thinking that as well.
4) Originally, yes, however, I was considering revisiting it. Though I am not sure exactly what I will do
5,6 and 7) None of those textures are from this pack. The water and sugar cane are from Impressions and for some reason when I re=sized them this time some oddities popped up. I'm not to concerned about fixing them since they are placeholders.
The native resolution is 256x however I plan on doing a 128x and 64x eventually as well.
As for the block in the last picture, I'm not sure which one you are talking about.

The iron isn't too bad, but the coal is nearly invisible. I may have to either redraw the smooth stone or the coal. Not sure.
Yes.

That is all.
Let me know if you'd like some help getting them to tile up a little better, I'd be happy to help! :biggrin.gif:

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to point that out. I am probably going to have to redraw that texture.
I don't caaaare! I just want it. XD

5,6 and 7) Oh, I thought they seemed a bit high-detail.
Sorry, the block I was referring to was actually in the second to last picture. I feel like it may be a placeholder, as I felt before.
