Sorry to tell you this but unless you have full permission for this people will complain and this will be reported and probably removed. It's against forum rules.
legality would disagree, read the bottem of my post. by posting on the forum, you agree to the terms, that. anything may be done to what you post. Its opensource.
"Any material that is the work of another individual but is being represented as original. Permission must be obtained from the original creator, and due credit must be given, before including any element of that creator's work."
this is an ongoing thing with remixed packs and such on this forum.
lordofsax is right, with or without the clause, this is against the rules unless you have proof that they let you do this. YOU BROKE THE RULES, Everyone's gonna be mad!

don't think an uncanny resemblance falls under that category though. so, should a problem arise? I will attempt to contact the original creators, but until then. lets assume that its just uncannily resembling their work.

That isn't even slightly funny, you know that it is stolen and so do we. If you had any respect for the artists you would own up and back down.
I Deeply. Respect anyone who has the balls to post their work here. Be it good or bad. I respect everyone who posts their work. putting themselves up for judgement in such a public manner.
Don't try to tell me I don't respect someone. You don't even know me.
Well, technically none of us own the rights to these so making it so that WE don't have the rights to sue you means absolutely nothing. The owners of the original textures can still report without posting. Secondly sony is currently under lawsuit for a clause of a very similar nature. Therefore there are SOME lawyers who think that this sort of thing doesn't work.
You seem to know something about copyright laws, which means that you should know that the DMCA copyright is an all rights reserved copyright. This means that the CREATOR of the works has the rights to the work. Unless you have been given permission to the distribution right you have no claim in any legal system because you are distributing their work without their permission which is a violation of their rights regardless of what your legal section may say. In most instances were a licences has contradicted a law courts rule in favor of the law.

No, I don't but I do know that showing respect to someone isn't flipping them the proverbial bird and walking away with their stuff laughing. That's what your doing to these three artists. Or rather that is how you are presenting yourself.
In your mind. In my mind? I'm showing off my favorite parts of each. Em not taking credit for what they did. And how I present myself, is merely how you interpret it.
And you are apparently. One of those people that wants to be insulted, and have a reason to argue with someone, for any reason. Do us all a favor, grow up, quit being such a mad child. and do something better with your time, then argue with someone who is just showing her favorite parts of something, and sharing it with others. Grow up. and get off my thread.

Wheres the patent? You could patent this work. But realize something. DMCA copyrights, dont mean anything unless the person has a patent. the share of data is very specific when it comes to copyright laws. This. I assure you. Is completelly legal. (majored law, have double masters.)
There is no patent needed under the current U.S. and U.N. copyright laws; as soon as artwork is published in a form of media (i.e posting online and packaged in the form of a texture pack) it is copyrighted. The only reason to register a patent is to strengthen your copyright. A patent give a time stamp to the creation of artwork which tends to stand up in court better than someone's claim that they painted something on canvas first. However, in the case of the forums there is a time stamp on all posts. Which would strengthen a copyright.
Honestly at this point I am arguing for the sake of argument. You clearly state that this is not your work and you are not profiting off the distribution of it. If it were my packs I would be flattered. However, the rules of this forum are a tad stringent and this thread may be locked anyway regardless of how I feel.

I have full permissions now anyways.
And im not going for profit. and that was my point. It wouldnt exactlly stand up in court.
Congratulations, one step closer to being a legitimate pack by the forum rules.
EDIT: only the icons, the armour itself is a different one of mine, so is the diamond and so is the gold (including icons for these two).
The Icons are from doku, just checked, but the continuation is allowed because doku released the right to anyone who wanted to continue it.
This is a legitimate pack. Now seriouslly lol... Step off. okay?
I am not arguing for nothing, I am arguing for acknowledgement of my work and a request for permission for use of my work.
Ok, Seriouslly. Your work is a make off of dokus anyways, but fine. If it will make you happy.
May I continue to leave your work within the pack? The Armor Icons, and the leather armor itself.

Just go ahead and report the thread. You're a creator, and you're objecting. That falls very squarely into the forum rules for when threads can be removed for copyright infringement.
or delete please.
Thanks, Do you like it?
