This is a great pack, my 2nd favorite pack! The only thing I really don't like is the chest. It would be great if you (steelfeathers) could make an alt. I could do it myself but I really like your style and I just don't think I can make a good-looking chest with it. Thanks.
Edit: Forgot to add that the alt would be plank colored and look more default-ish. I would really appreciate it, and I'm sure someone else out there dislikes the chest like I do, cause it is pretty different.
It's on my to-do list. I just added an alternate ladder that doesn't look quite so much like rails (since some people complained about that too) so a new chest should be coming up.
Good to hear an update, love this texture pack. Is truly quite amazing and well done. Cannot wait to see how the current undone items turn out, and excited to see how you treat the blocks and items for the new update.
Good luck with the new GUI as well.
Oh boy is the new allitem GUI a doozy! It's got it's own folder and everything. Although I'm relieved the tabs aren't hardcoded anymore, I just about had a stroke when I saw the 4 separate pngs that go into it. Guh.
Hm, yeah looking through the texture files, quite a bit of work. Plus the villager trading textures. I'd say don't worry about the snapshot just yet. Simply for your own piece of mind finish any work you have on 1.2.6, then worry about 1.3 when there is a solid release coming.

Probably a good idea. Because who knows what may or may not be added before 1.3 comes out.
New stuff! Finally finished the allitems GUI, and I've also polished off the emerald ore, emerald block, tripwire, and the icons for the emerald, book & quill, and written book. (Yay for actually doing items on time \o/). I wanted to do a more exciting design for the emerald block, but I really couldn't come up with one... meh.

Theevilpplz is so fabulous, hetrosexual men turn bi when he passes by.
Awesome, looking forward to more of the updates Steel Feathers! As always, your work is quality and spiffin'.
I know I had misgivings about the jungle wood texture and posted my complaints to you about the shading before (that's supposed to make make the big jungle trees look like they have grooves) to which you replied that you'd be happy to give me an unshaded version. Then I replied back that I was once more fine with the jungle wood texture, understanding your reasoning behind why the texture looked how it did.
Now, with risk of looking like a complete flake and silly noobynooby, I'd like to ask again that you please provide me the unshaded version of the jungle log, thank you! I'm trying stuff out with the new extended connected textures and, to no avail, I've attempted to unshade the jungle log myself. But I am awful at it and botched it up, making it look like a terrible mess and I cried myself to sleep afterwards because of how sad it was.
(As if it'd mean anything) you'd have my thanks and appreciation and pictures of two cutie things I've made:
'Course, I'd completely understand if you didn't have the time or something, what with all the new things coming out in Minecraft that need textures and your many texture packs to maintain. =)

Very nice job. Supposed the emeralds could be small crystalline sort of patten if you wanted, but I kinda of like it as it is. Will have to wait until a release to test how is feels in game. Don't like using snapshots too much, often too many redstone bugs and terrain generation changes. Keep up the good work.

I normally don't like using snapshots either, but jungle/desert temples were just too cool to pass up. I've always been more of an explorer than a builder, you see, so it's perfect for me.
Anyway, hopefully 1.3 will be out soon so you can examine the new textures for yourself.

YOU SILLY N00b HOW DARE YOU ASK FOR CUSTOM TEXTURES! I WILL NEVER--
Oh reminds me. What work do you have for the other miscellaneous items? Like blaze rod or spider eyes or potions. Not looking for finished work, but curious what your developmental process looks like.
Also excited to see what you visions of villagers and iron golems will be.

What do I have for the other items? Nothing. If it hasn't been added yet, or I didn't mention it within the last few posts, then it hasn't been worked on. Me and icons don't get along so well-- mostly because I hate doing them, and they don't like cooperating with my artistic efforts. >.<
As for villagers and golems, I too am excited to work on them. Here are the bases for both:
As for the golem, I'm going for a look similar to the iron block. All the flat dark gray areas will eventually be covered with silver designs.
Your progress in artistic style as you made your texture packs has been great fun to watch over the past... year? two years? It's so long ago now... Great job!

It's been about a year and and half since I started working on Assassini.
.........................man, I'm such a NERD. Although I have greatly improved my ability to make backgrounds. <3

Absolutely love the idea for the golem. The Iron Block texture is very intricate, and glad to see you using it again. Believe there is a artistic word for that, Symmetry possibly. Helps to create a greater flow throughout the work.
The villagers seem quite neat so far. To me they resemble scholars and traders, which of course will fit them perfectly.
How did you come up with icons you have now? Where do you run into troubles? Selfishly curious, as when working on my personal pieces I find it easier to work in detail, but loose track of the overall look. Seems as though you work oppositely, you work well with the overall look and idea, but when it comes to being restrained by the art of those tiny little icons, trouble issues. Could be mistaken of course.

How do I come up with icons? I don't know, I just....do them. Sometimes I do have issues with not enough space/pixels to get the shading just right, but there are a lot of optical tricks that can be used to circumvent those problems. Sorry if that's not very helpful, but for the most part I do more making of art than thinking about art.
Pretty nice work although some items could use abit more work to them. Sugar Cane could use my coloring to it. some of the stone could use more style. But i like it.
