Uh... you forgot the back of the paintings. They look invisible from the back. And something feels missing looking from the front. (by the way, I stole your lamps :biggrin.gif:)
I didn't forget the back of the paintings. I removed it on purpose so that I could have the mounted sword. With a visible painting back, the sword would have strange floating lines bisecting it.
Besides, paintings pop off when you remove the blocks behind them... *scratches head*
I'm loving the update. At first I didn't think I would like the new cobble, but it has grown on me, just like the chests. I especially like the randomized mob textures. It breaks up the monotony of a herd of sheep that are exactly alike.
Keep up the great work as always!
Excellent. My plan for world domination via cobble and chests is taking effect...
I have a very big problem, guys, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I used to be able to play minecraft for hours on end without a problem, but now my computer freaks out and locks up after about an hour, sometimes less. The freak-out usually coincides with my computer overheating, but I don't know whether that's causing it. Anyone know what's going on, or how I can prevent minecraft from using up so much processing power? I currently have optifine installed, and I'm running it on short view distance.
The problem with this issue (besides the obvious) is that I have no real reason to make textures if I can't actually play minecraft. I want to continue making textures, but there's no point if I can't play the game.

Need system specs yo.
Also get realtemp to see how hot your processor is getting. Make sure the heat sink is working properly.

Windows Vista, 32 bit.
I don't have a thermometer on me, but even if I did, I wouldn't know anything about checking the heat sink (I didn't even know there was a heat sink). How does one do this? /noobfail

Is it a laptop?
Realtemp is free software you can download to monitor core temperatures.
Steel; I joined just to let you know that this has been my texture pack since you released it and I like it more and more with every update. Can't wait to see what you have in store for the next update.
As for your computer, you may want to remove Optifine and just go back to HDpatcher (or use it if you never have). When I tried Optifine, even the very basic one, my Minecraft started to run horribly, I switched back to HDP and haven't had a problem since. Minecraft is a JAVA game and runs computers pretty hard because it's not the best programming language to use for games.
What processor and how much RAM do you have also? You can also try opening up System monitor (I think that's what it's called if I remember correctly it's been a while since I've had windows comp) and that will show you how much CPU usage Mincraft is using. Just make sure you have Minecraft open and running when you do it :smile.gif: Then get back to us.
I'm no computer expert, so I can't help you there. However, I strongly recommend you make back-ups of all your artwork now, if you haven't done so already.
It sounds like you may have a hardware problem, so I wouldn't take any risks. It would be awful if you lost all your hard work due to a computer meltdown! :blink.gif:
I'm back from London.
Reeeeeeeaaaaaaally tired.
It's 1 o'clock.
"New FeatherSong update??"
And then I stay up 'till 4 testing it out.
Then I realize I have to go to school in 4 hours.
F*CK.
And then I try to sleep, but I can't.
Then I fail my math test.
But it's all worth it cause the sheepies are soooo cute.
4 hours? hehe. Hehe. I'm running on about 1.3 right now. I stayed up all night reading Harry Potter fanfiction. I am such a dumbass.
In other news, I'm delighted that my pack ranked higher than sleep on your to-do list.

I shall take your advice, oh great wayuki. *kowtows*

Isn't optifine supposed to improve performance....? Nvm, you might be right. I'll try taking it out. :smile.gif:

I thought so too but I tried every version there is and for some reason after an hour or so Minecraft would crash. I even tried a new Minecraft.jar and that still didn't help.
Did your problems start around when you installed it or not? If not it may be a more serious problem, so hopefully it's not. Did you install or change anything around the time the problem started up?
And always keep keep back ups of anything important to you. Computers, hard drives especially, can just die and take everything you had with them.

We'll get this figured out.
Hm...well I've been using optifine for a while, but only really to work on my adventure map, which exists in an already generated world. I think the problem might lie in trying to create a new world/generate new terrain while using optifine. It already gives me those see-through chunk errors sometimes. :\

Well, a problem causing lag might be that you need to clear some space on your computer, cause thats what happened to me and when i cleared space on my pc, my frames almost doubled...
might not work but that worked for me.
Also, are you Australian? cuz i noticed one of your textures are VICTORIAN mansion or whatever.

I did a disk defragment and hard drive clean-up just a few days ago. That should have covered it.
Although I'm curious....why in the world would you think I'm Australian because I made a Victorian-styled texture pack? As far as I know, the two aren't deeply related. :tongue.gif:

Why thank you, good sir!
*sigh* There's always a 'but', isn't there?
Just for future reference, I actually have a **** load of this pack done.

"Victorian" refers to the style of the Victorian Era.
