I think I'm addicted to texturing. Or else I'm in a serious rut. Because my dog died yesterday, and all I could think to do was go to photoshop. :sad.gif:
EDIT: **** my life. That's two pets in two months. Somebody up there is screwing with me.

Sorry to hear that man. But it's normal to do something you love while in a moment of despair. If texturing makes you happy then go for it!

Sorry for your loss :sad.gif:
On a happier note, I am loving the new update. The GUIs look nice and I really like the bread hunger bar.
Here's a little update on my little build too:
There's glowstone under the diagonal walkways (partially hidden) that give them sort of a glow at nighttime. I took a daytime pic just so you can clearly see the structure and such.
The center bit (with the stone bricks) is going to be a tall tower, and at the top will sit a nether portal which will take you to a nether-ified version of this place. Stone bricks -> Nether brick, fences -> nether brick fence, water -> lava, etc.

The build's looking good (even better with the HD patch, haha), and I really like the concept. I really want to make my own parallel real/nether world now!
Hey steel, sorry ho hear about your loss. :c I wish I had a dog sometimes, they seem really awesome!
Anyways, I noticed your bottom cacti piece was missing/not finished, so I made one myself (feel free to use it or make one yourself), I also tried to give the ores some more depth while also making a diamond alt. In the furnace I simply added a brighter shade for the fire, it makes it look hotter. The obsidian is the one I showed you earlier. For the mossy cobble/bricks I changed the hue a little with some more shading underneath, while I also fixed a pixel in the bottom right that looked unintentional.
I hope you like these, and as I said before, feel free to use them for whatever you want, and credit is not necessary either. :smile.gif:
Excellent as always. :3
I'm not sure why you felt compelled to make a texture for the bottom of the cactus, though, since you can't see it...
I'll have to test out the ores and the mossy cobble, but I can tell that I already like your brighter furnace fire. Although I must say, that diamond blob ore looks a lot like the one from your RPG pack-- I tend to prefer faceted diamonds, myself. ^^
Still not reviewing cause I'm that much of a ****...
One of these days I'm going to make an easter egg just for you. Wait and see.
In other news, I'm making an adventure map for this pack, so hopefully you guys will get to try that out soon!
It won't be like most other adventure maps, however- no bizarre redstone puzzles, no frustrating (and often pointless) jumping courses, just plot and problem solving using the mysterious clues scattered throughout the town....
It's probably going to end up being short and rather small, but I hope it will be fun all the same, even if it isn't some big adventure like all those maps that scream EPIC MAP IS EPIC. WITH GIGANTIC BUILDINGS.

What a coincidence, just yesterday I was thinking that you should make an adventure map and an accompanying texture pack. GET OUT OF MY HEAD! :laugh.gif:

Awesome! I love adventure maps! I'm really excited for this!
Thank you. :smile.gif: You can see the cacti bottom if it's a dropped block, but I suppose that's a rare occasion, but better something than nothing. :laugh.gif:
Edit: How do you make that line to divide your post into different parts?
Actually the bottom cactus is used for the particles on the breaking animation. It's been bugging me sense you never texture them, so there's always ugly green/white pixels when I punch them.

I've been thinking of making a map as well, though not an adventure map. Instead, it will be normal minecraft generation, no plot or stuff like that, but I will be creating large dungeons/temples/building/formations/whatever/sixth variation to explore/loot/gain from/keep from boredom. There will also be smaller ruins and dungeons scattered around, of course. So you can play normally the entire time if you want, but there will be dungeons and such to give you interesting things to explore and loot. I'll probably use MC Edit to do large yet basic formations, (Such as making a void-bottomed ravine or very large lake/hole in the ground to put a dungeon above/under.) and then detail them in normal creative.
I'm waiting for the official release of the next update to start this, though.

I was thinking something similar... *watches suspicously*
Well, actually, mine was more along the lines of the hunger games, limited resources, traps, treasure, etc.
Lovely texture pack, I particularly like the pumpkin and wheat.
My only criticisms would be that side grass looks very smooth and signs are hard to read.
But other than that I really like it, and am looking forward to what you do with the items. : )
Would like to say that the hud so far for chests, inventory etc..it's a little colour blending, makes it harder to see items and some icons overlap, just saying it's not very clear sort of a eye sore since you need to focus more, wood behind wood textured background etc.
As well as some of the hud just not having boxes making things look weird. If you look at your other texture pack, it's a good example of how the colours blend to make it look easier on the eyes.
There are blocks and items of pretty much every color you care to name, so unless I made the background of the screens invisible there would always be a little bit of 'blending'. I myself have had no trouble picking out the wooden blocks/items while playing with this pack.
As for the HUD-- not having a box is a stylistic choice. I'm not a fan of the default square selector, so I chose to just have corner markers instead. :smile.gif:

Yeah, the signs are a bit hard to read. But I tend to use them more for making decorative items (such as chair armrests) so I wanted them to match the wood. I can, however, make an alternate that has a more visible writing surface, if you wish.
I've been searching for ages for a good 16x texture pack and registered to say your work, my friend, is it. Absolutely wonderful artwork you've been doing. Please keep it up and add your magic touch to as much as you can!
I also have a few humble suggestions for you:
-You can add some color to the tips of the netherwart (red, perhaps) to show they're ripe.
-Of course, my personal preference, but adding a splash of brown or yellow to the biome colors really help diversify the land.
-A sign that has a white or cream paper background really helps to see text.
Also, really love the GUI, but mainly what I was focusing on was that cute little house.

Side note: Huzzah! 100 posts!
Can't wait to see it!
And sorry to hear about your dog, I've been through that before, some time ago. Not fun.
Just insert this into the post where you want the line (more specifically a horizontal rule, hence the "hr"):

Retired Staffum...okay? Thanks, I guess.
You know, you really don't have to download if you don't want to. I'm not holding a gun to your head. :smile.gif:

Keep up the amazing work!
I would appreciate that. : )
Although I could probably just install a bukkit plugin and turn the text white. :tongue.gif:
