Feels kind of good to be back. It's not under the best circumstances though. I'm too ill to do much else because some jackasses think it's a-okay to not vaccinate their children. Which caused a mumps outbreak in my area. And now I've got mumps and I'm in too much pain to eat anything solid and have been surviving on smoothies for two days now.

Nothing wrong with smoothies, especially with whey protein powder in them.
That being said, get better. I'll put up a shortlist of what missing soon. (Too much Borderlands2 last night. Was satisfying to improve Jack's smug face with a corrosive bullet, though.)
omgggg I love Borderlands so much. So. Very. Much. Mordecai is my favorite. And yes, I must admit I found it disturbingly satisfying to put a bullet through Jack's skull.

Unnf. I decide to go ahead and toss out this preliminary 1.8 version of the Wolfhound Modded pack I've been bashing away at for some time. Been doing doors and trapdoors today, and checking for corrections here and there--I'd like to continue working on it later, but you look like you could use it right now. I'm not terribly happy with the textures for the new basic stones right now, so that may get changed in the future.
That being said, easiest way to see what's new is to make a copy of the default assets, and slap your current Wolfhound over on that, overwriting it. Then browse through it--since all the new stuff is in 16x, you'll catch most of easily. The only modification to the regular files that I know of is the default avatar one; I already put up the altered one I made earlier. (I'll still do that request you made, I'm just getting what I see need to be done as done.

If Thistle comes out with other doors that can fit better, I'll replace them. All I've been doing is re-appropriating her assets to fit.
As for what I use? Photoshop CS2. Adobe already released some older versions of their software into the wild, along with keys to install them. No support, though, so Adobe Updater needs to be disabled.
Lovely additions, especially the sea-lantern. So beautiful. And I really like the sandstone, and the rabbits are adorable. The doors, however... birch looks lovely, acacia has too much empty space, even though the ornaments are very pretty. But I was very disappointed in the spruce and dark-oak doors - I had hoped you'd keep the medieval and heavy, elaborate, dark wood, manor house door feel intact. But maybe they aren't final versions? *looks hopeful* Same goes for the Prismarine brick - I actually liked the unconventional brick-shape of the vanilla texture; something a bit otherworldly and different. So I went a bit *meh* when I saw the common brick-shape.
Anyway, these are just suggestions, it's your texture pack, and you decide what's best. I really love your work.
Question, which program do you use to paint the textures? I'm playing with the idea of making a whimsical Art Noveau texture pack, but I only have MyPaint and gimp, which both don't really lend themselves to the job. Do you have any recommendations?
So if you can find a super-awesome photo of a super-cool door that I fall in love with, I'll probably redo them. The best way to get me to do anything is to make me excited about it. I've used pinterest photos as inspiration for textures before.
The prismarine... so the problem with prismarine is I spend less time on textures I won't see. And I have this crippling deep water phobia, and yes, it's present in Minecraft too. I had a different idea than the bricks with the prismarine but it didn't tile well on a mass scale and I scrapped it and was like eh... bricks are easy. If I don't hate everything by the time I finish updating the other Wolfhound variations, I'll go back and revisit them.
Out of curiosity, what paintings do you guys favor? Ones that look like objects (like the water fountain in the Heavenly pack), ones of scenery, ones of animals, or the ones of people?

I love the ones it came with. they are very pretty and well done. But if it is a matter of what type um i don't know but I do know I just love the one with the fairys at the river. It is a really beautiful one. But all of them are still really amazing. Sorry if what i am saying is no help.

Well, why not aim in the general direction of the Variant packs? Like, prehistoric smears for the Prehistoric pack, woodblock prints for Asian, and so on. Again, content itself isn't important, so go for style.

Well, i don't really like object like paintings, but they canbe good if properly used. i think there should be a different style for each, like the deafult ones are drawings, the heavenly could be drawings in fancy frame, the dungeon ones could be ramdon stuff people prisioners drew on the wall, the medieval ones could be medieval paintings, and stuff.
or somethig like it.

I love the fancy frame idea. Doing it.
I'm still trying to get an idea of the actual content though. I personally enjoy drawing people.
I'v been following your resource packs ever sense I found out what a resource pack was, just signed up now so that's why it took a while for me to comment, heh...
Aaannyyycase...I'd just like to say all your resource packs are truly amazing and stand out SO much more then the others!
My personal favorite of your recourse packs was your Fairy one, though I liked the armor from Heavenly and your classic one better though...
I see you're updating for 1.8 content, which is amazing! Also, will there each pack be updating with it's own unique textures for the new doors and and enemies?
Your resource packs always seem to stand out among all other ones I have seen, I know I seem like just another random commenter...but I mean it, they're amazing!
I'd love to make my own as well, but I could never rival yours, and I don't know how truth be told...heh...
One last question, is it possible to every perhaps see your packs include their own sound effects and 3D models? (Thank you 1.8 for that!)
I know textures are far different from sounds and 3D modeling though...so...sorry if this is a derp question...

It takes time to do the 3D stuff--the basic flat ones for all the doors took me half a day to do (as I've had to doublecheck my work to ensure it's correct, it's easy to mess up the UV direction.) opl's Model Editor helps greatly, but it's all largely down to stylistic choices. On top of that, she has to reconfigure the page to include models/blockstates as well if they're not a "standard" form for all of that particular block. (This includes multi-model blocks, like fences.)
Do feel free to look at the Modded version; I've done doors, trapdoors, brewing stand, and one slab (stone brick) to begin with; I won't do more until she puts out her updates so I can fill in the holes and make some better choices. (I do have carpets ready, though. They're based off the 1.7 Optifine CTM ones I made already; I have to wait and see what happens in the 1.8 version.)

As Lethosos said, it does take a lot of work and a different skill set to do the 3d stuff. And I've got no experience with music whatsoever. Since I still have a lot of textures to update, and since making textures is really what I enjoy doing, I probably won't be branching out into 3d models. I do encourage you to take a look at what other people have done with my packs though, as there's been some good work. I might need to start linking to fan variants here.
And yes, each pack will have their own unique 1.8 textures as appropriate. Doors especially.
Thank you for answering my question so quickly! Most places I'm in the post author takes about a week to answer it...heh
Now sorry for all these questions, but I do have one more...
How can I tell once your packs have been updated to 1.8? I know classic and dungeon have been updated, I looked at some of the others and they didn't seem updated just yet, but this was a few weeks ago...
is there a little indicator or do you state it here?
Oh, also forgot
@Lethosos: How can I find your 3D model work? I'd like to see that...
I love the new 3D models and I basically only use WolfHound resource packs, getting a mix of both would be amazing!

well, you can try to draw people related to the pack theme, like, the heavenly could be angels, fairy could be.... fairies, and stuff like that.
