I was one of the ones who didn't say to update textures and said to do new stuff 'cause I thought you'd enjoy that more, lol.
But if you more care about the results of the pole then I'd be happy to give some suggestions as to what textures could use some updates and such.
And of course a few suggestions as to what they could be updated too,I never just say "Fix 'X' plz" without a good suggestion...or at least my best shot at it.
As for the "Updating dated textures" they could be meaning they'd like to see your other packs hit 1.9.
I know I'd love to see your seasons pack hit 1.9, it's one of my favorites!
Though, a quick fix to that would be to just take all the new textures from your classic Wolfhound and put it in the other packs so they're fully textured and work while we wait for the other updates.
As for updating textures?
I'd just suggest updating the recolor textures to something more unique.
I could give suggestions but I'm not going to go through every single one, that'd take a while.
If you desire to update the recolors then if you'd say which ones you're working on I'm sure we'd be happy to give suggestions.
I'm just slow to say what needs updating and such because I don't want to seem like a nit-picky little neaner beaner. lol
Seasons won't take too much to update as it's not a complete redo of Wolfhound. I might try to get that done tonight. It's mostly the wings I want to finish.
You're more than welcome to point out textures that need updates. You don't even need to have a suggestion in hand, just point to one and say it's not as good as the others. This pack is... three years old? My art has improved a LOT since then and I won't be offended by people saying so! You should never feel like you're nit-picking, especially when I'm asking for suggestions. I'll either take 'em or I won't. The only time I get annoyed is when I have people saying 'you need to do x, y, and z.' No. I don't need to do anything. I'ma gonna do what I want.
So, the Prismarine texture in your classic wolfhound pack has repeating texturing problems as well as all the seasons ones, but you use the same Classic Wolfhound texture in all your seasons packs so it's only one texture to update.
So, looking through textures that could be updated I've found a few.
I'm putting each version in a spoiler so I don't send you a well of text.
Classic.
As for Classic
I love the metal bars, I really do, so it saddens me to say this, but they don't work well as a single pole in 1.9 now.
It just looks like two floating toenail clippers when I place it as a single pole.
Endstone I'd like to see as it's own texture instead of a altered color version of regular stone bricks.
Prismarine bricks look awesome, but look a bit odd on their own as a single block, they look odd unless used in a lard amount.
This could easily be fixed if you simply moved the texture down a bit(seeing as it's repeating it should be too hard) so that it could make XXXXX patters...Know what I mean? I'm horrible at explaining things...
Here, have a picture. :3 face included.
The mossy cobblestone doesn't look as "planty" as your other textures and kinda stands out..
Dungeon, Fairy, and Heavenly.
Endstone, Iron bars and Prismarine bricks, same as last time.
Maybe make Iron ingots it's own thing instead of gold recolors? Or vice vesra.
I feel like having the blocks of iron or lapis lazuli or whatever being emblems in cobblestone is a bit limiting to creating.
The Heavenly Prismarine crystals and shards are a bit similar.
The Heavenly glowstone is a bit simple.
And heavenly chiseled stone is great but for heavenly it stands out a bit much, quite dark and such.
For the most part most textures seem fine to me, I didn't check Fantasy or Classic Medieval due to them not being 1.9 and I'm too lazy to start up the game in 1.8, downgrade a game that I backed up and everything to check them out.
All of these are simply my opinion, and means nothing against the quality or work put into the textures.
For the most part I love all the textures, lol.
Though, I am a bit bias. I used these a lot in a very fond time in my life so they always remind me of happy moments! lol
Oh, and one last thing.
End rods and the sword sweep particals could be added, those would be awesome.
If you have any questions as to why I didn't like some of these textures as much then feel free to ask.
Also, yes, I checked items as well as blocks, it's just that most items are flawless.
[EDIT]: I meant to say "Endstone bricks", whoops. lol
uggggggh those metal bars... I see what you mean and I do NOT like the 1.9 change now. I see three options: redo them so they have massively ugly thick bars but look okay as posts, leave them as-is and have terrible posts, or move them around a bit and have posts that don't quite look right and bars that don't quite look right either. If there were a way to submit bug reports on Minecraft, I'd be dropping one on them right now that reads "please put post and bars in different texture files instead of reusing the one file for both."
I'm leaning towards leaving them as-is, because it's going to utterly ruin my handful of asymmetrical bars to get them to work as posts.
Endstone is probably going to get left alone because it's going to be such a rarely occurring block. At least in my texture test game, it is. Unless I managed to find Minecraft's smallest end fortress.
Prismarine - adding to my list
Mossy cobble - adding to my list
Iron ingots - adding to my list, I bet I could get an idea or two for 'em
Fairy blocks - yeah, I wouldn't mind redoing these, adding to list
Prismarine crystal/shard - that... actually looks like a mistake, I'll double-check and fix it if it is
Glowstone - adding to list, I have an idea
Chiseled stone - adding to list
Particles - adding to list
See! Look how many of those suggestions I agree with!
Edit: prismarine WAS a mistake, it's been fixed and is being uploaded
As I said, I love your iron bars.
So I looked into trying to find a way to make them work but it didn't turn out too well... But I made headway.
So, here's a picture of Iron bars in bar form and fence form.
The top is the original, and the bottom is a version I altered.
Looking at the bar on to of the fence it looks...bad...
So I moved the middle bar around a bit and got this.
It doesn't look much better, but at least it's something.
So, if you want the bar to be seen as a pole it'll have to be in the direct center of the texture, and the direct center of the bar is where the bar running on the top of the fences texture is taken.
So I moved the little blue dotty thing to the middle so it'd pop up on the top.
I also needed to take away the little strings connection the bards to the middle bar.
I hope this helped somewhat on knowing what part of the texture will have to be where.
Personally, I know I did a lousy job, but hey. lol I tried.
Oh, I also found that your packs are missing the new 'hit' particals.
Like...if you smack something with a sword you'll see particals depending on how much damage you did, they look like little maroon hearts.
If you use the vanilla resource pack then you'll see what I mean.
Also, is there any way we can get the older textures you've outdated?
Like, I love the old fairy pack tools, the modern ones are great but I like splicing my tools into different packs so I can use whatever whenever, and I miss those old tools from your older packs! lol
[EDIT]: Oh, and another thing... This might be hard to do, but if banners could be done that'd be awesome, 'cause now with shields the banner designs will be used more often.
[EDIT II]: Whoops, I derped something up so banners weren't showing, it's fixed now, I didn't see you did do them! lol

Yeah, so, I've been poking at the Modded pack as well as some stuff about 1.9 JSON files now that I'm back from my Austria trip. Found out that there's some peculiar stuff about how they modified the way models work in 1.9 as opposed to 1.8 models, so I'm just gonna have to put messing with it on the side for now. Currently, my plans is to:
do a quick error-pass over the 1.8 files (leaving out doors and trapdoors for now,)
post some links,
do more work on the extra models I have yet to finish.
Once that's off my plate, I'll look at updating to 1.9 and ask what custom models you guys would like to see in the future.
I think it looks quite good!
I loved the old ones look, but it was kinda simple, with all the little sparklies you added it looks a lot more elaborate.
But it also keeps that cool coloring and such that the original had.
Also...wow, your resource pack testing world looks a whole lot better than mine! lol
[EDIT]: If you got multiple notifications for this reply then sorry!
My internet was derping hard and I had to keep trying to re-post this but it kept failing.
I doubt it would keep sending the reply notification without posting the post, but I've seen some forums derp up like that.
I'll upload it once I'm satisfied that no other textures need updating. I went through the fairy pack and redid a LOT of stuff. I'm super happy with the changes.
Oh my gosh. I just went through to update minecraft and my texture packs, and just... oh my gosh. I use a mixture of fairy and fantasy and it all looks so amazing. Thank you so much for putting together this beautiful set.

So this is how I discovered today that I need to texture skeletal horses. My brother is the one I'm talking with.

Just started using the pack on 1.8.9 (still need my mods XD) and I love it
I just want to dig a small hole and stay in it now....

I will honestly cry the day you stop updating this pack. It's my absolute favorite and I hope to see you keep developing it for a long time yet.

I'm home from vacation. Working on whatever I have the energy to. How's this for revamped heavenly glowstone?

I'm going back and redoing some of the original Wolfhound blocks that are just 'meh'. Just did the coal.
Diamond and emerald. I'm 100x happier with the new emerald.
okay, it's 1am, I'll have to finish the last two tomorrow.
And the last two! I got a couple more blocks I want to revise and then I'll upload the new stuff.
New textures are up. I appreciate suggestions for other textures you'd like to see redone.
Wood planks have been redone. They were long overdue, I think.
