I was bored before so I decided to do something I have been thinking about for months. It is super simple but awesome!
This is just the terrain.png file, but I edited Gold, Redstone, Diamond, Iron and Coal to all have the stone texture. It goes directly into the minecraft.jar folder and replace the old .png file making it so that people won't suspect a texture change. This does only work with the vanilla textures though. It can't get used with any pack. However, by replacing the terrain file in the packbeing used, it will change it, but it will alter the entire landscape and not just the ores.
Here is the terrain image. Just save it, stick it on a USB and go to a friends house and get them to get a drink and do the dirty work when they are gone for ultimate trollage.
Oh, I remember a mod from back in early alpha... It actually made any ore in contact with air, stone, in addition to lowering the ore generation by 25%.

Do they mean for diamond and redstone? If I change the gold, coal or iron texture to cobble, it will look like cobble when they see it in the ground. Diamonds and redstone would be easy to do though. I can make it now and see how it turns out :smile.gif:
No, what the people above are trying to tell you not to make a diamond block to drop cobblestone. They mean that you should change the texture for the diamond that drops. That way the diamond you pick up will look like cobblestone in your inventory and when lying on the ground :smile.gif:

Like I said, I am working on it. Also, any other suggestions as to what I should change? I wanted to make pumpkins the Troll face but I couldn't get a picture the right size and if I did, it goes all pixelated.
I cant seem to change the lava texture. If anybody who knows how to, could you PM me, or leave a response here. I assume you need to do it in more than just the PNG?

I think is a clever system and much more realistic and fun. It seems to me that a mod about it already existed but terrain.png file is much simpler to install. Well done.

It's probably hard-coded like the swamp's water.

you need to patch for water and lava to be changed
That defeats the purpose of a fast install. I guess I could upload the thing for people who want it and patch it themselves, if people want it.
