Hey, I have some free time on my hands for awhile, anyone care if I start on some Tekkit textures?

Hey guys, I posted last night on Ghost's texture pack and shortly afterword learned about what is going on. I hate the theft of hard work (I've done game modding for 6 years now and can relate.) I have pulled back my post on his forums to bring what should have been posted here. Thank you all so much for your hard work on this texture pack. I've actually found most of what Ghost changed and decided it was the textures I was a little more iffy about (Iron door for example). I was wondering however if there was a wool texture for more decorative purposes. I love the current one but the tiling is a bit too noticable in what I'm trying to do.

Lastly, I have never made Minecraft textures before but I am actually quite good at pixel art. I wouldn't mind giving a contribution a shot, but I understand it's totally up to you guys what is used and not used. Regardless, I think it could be interesting to give it a shot.

Oh and quick question, for the fence does it just use the planks texture or can you choose what is bound to each side? I noticed some minor inconsistancies on some of the sides. Kind of like with stairs and halfslabs, it would be nice to not have them cutoff like they do, but I kind of get the impression that can't be avoided.

Thanks again for Ovo and everyone's hard work on this project. It's refreshing to see a texture pack I actually love. It has an overall consistancy and quality. Without forcing itself to be real it makes everything believable and still artistic.

Started on some IC2 machines. I'll try to post some examples tomorrow!

Personally I welcome any new talent, and I'm sure everyone else would agree with me. Post what you make on the thread and, like you say, we can accept the work of our choice.

Finally you can choose what texture's bound to the fences with the CTM mod that comes with MCPatcher. Search for fence CTM in the search bar at the top right, I know they exist (however implementing them's the hard part.)

Thanks for the response, I actually love the iron door as is. As far as the fences I guess I meant as far as what part of the texture is bound to which side not just the texture itself, so basically the UV Coordinates / Mapping. I honestly don't know anything about how minecraft does its textures and I plan to read up on it. My modding was focused around Battlefield 2 (and still sort of is).

I was hoping to use this texture pack for a server mod project that me and a few people have been working on called Nights of Haven. I'm the lead focus of construction and city design. When I credit the texture pack used for screenshots and videos do I link here or is there somewhere else you guys would prefer?

when i use this Amazing pack beacon won't work. the beacon is probably located somewhere else.

I'd suggest you and everyone else who has had work stolen by this guy report him. He is a major repeat offender whose been reported in the past at least 4 times by myself, every time he's been allowed to repost it. Sometimes he temporarily disables the adf.ly links on his off-site distribution site to trick the moderators. I just caught him doing it this week and just now reported his submission again bringing this all to their attention.

Is it baked? Where was I getting golden then O.O I'll have to fix that, mistake on my part sorry xP And I saw yours yes. I should have separated my sentence better. What I meant to say is we were missing the golden potato (misprint on my part as its a BAKED potato not gold sorry so we do have it then) and as for the poisoned potato I just meant it was too similar to the original on yours in my eyes. So I took it and made it a little more green, added some purple "spoil" spots which I might change later, just to give it more of a poisoned look. But thats just how I see it in my eyes. Other people will have different opinions of course, and I accept that. I am in no way a great artist when it comes to digital artistry hah. I mostly stick to sketching in my notepad. Nonetheless, I will attempt to fix the "golden" potato and make it a baked potato and fix the rest of it. Thank you for pointing that out

That was a lesson, i think, now our pack (Misa, i think yours too) should be fully authentic and no more full-texture-pack using, maybe only few textures.

Also I spent a bit of time commenting/messaging/reporting on Ghost's stolen textures. I'm making a collection of links and screenshots of proof against him, I can post it if anyone wants it.

When through the image vault looking for smooth wool alternatives. The only one there looked like it had been either stretched, jpeged or possibly both. So I figured I may as well take the opportunity to experiment and see if I could come up with my own wool texture. Feel free to comment on it. I tried to take the same looking style of Ovo's original wool block with just the removed stitching. My only personal issue with it right now is the pink is a bit dull. I'll probably keep fiddling with the colors until I get something more that I like, but at the same time I didn't want to make the colors overwhelming, I kept most of them as close to the originals color as possible.

This is a fairly simple texture, but regardless let me know what you guys think. Good or bad criticism can only help me improve.

Edit: it is not allowing me to shrink the image sizes to make the post not so darn big. My apologies for that. Also note I love the original wool texture still feel free to add this to the image vault for those that could use it. I don't expect this to be added to the texturepack. Which let me know what does need working on that I could try and help with.

Fixed the pink wool I'll see what I can do about making the white less like snow. Off the top of my head I guess reduce saturation if there is any left and fiddle with the contrast brightness settings to make detail more prominent.
