Oh, I used gimp for years before I got ahold of photoshop. Took a while to get used too, and though Gimp IS good and IS very powerful, there are some things photoshop just works better for. Works better with tablets, for example...however Gimp has the superiority of saving icons and viewing animations as layered images. Basically both programs have their ups and downs.
I would probably work on some new items if I had access to my tablet.. I can't draw with a mouse to save my life. >>;
Amen, even though I suck in the first place I find it way easier to draw with my tablet.
New users are limited in posts per day until... they reach a certain reputation, I guess? Not sure on that, but it's what I assumed "approved posts" meant when I was waiting on the limit to be removed.
Anyway, working on a new GUI, which I feel suits the pack much better:
At the moment there's a misplaced single-pixel-wide line that appears where the language selection icon should be... I'm aware of this and will fix it. For that matter, the language selector thingy is MIA at the moment, but I've got an idea for that. (Any idea what the green button in the top right corner is? I'm not sure if I've ever actually seen it in-game.)
Can't decide what to do with the hotbar selector thingy... another wooden frame? A little wooden arrow thingy? Something else entirely?
Looks pretty good to me! as for the selector goes what about just a simple (wooden) border at the bottom, maybe with a gem embedded into it.
Same here. Although, I like GIMP better than Photoshop. I'm terrible at making new content from scratch. I can do it if I have some form of inspiration or another version of the same thing, but from scratch isn't my thing at all. You might try some items, they seem to be fairly easy to make, being so small.
I actually have made some item edits and plan to share them shorty, however for now I will just post the new and improved Inventory Gui. =)
Thanks to TheAdventureTime for the Boosts.
Please also note that this will be completely done by tomorrow and I will update this post when it is.
Love seeing people contributing to this. Does anyone have any idea when the customizer will but up and running
Trust me, as soon as it's back up and running it won't be long before James gets the Ovo customizer set up. I'm pretty sure he's watching it like a hawk (which is much appreciated, I hope you know). ^^
creeperfighter3, I'm NOT trying to discourage, on the contrary... but your style really doesn't seem to have a rustic feel at all. It makes me think of sort of, softer cartoon-like graphics from what I've seen. Have you considered maybe making your own texture pack? Right now it might be better to practice by doing just that, and it may very well look awesome putting your own textures together in one place.
Going to have a little bit of time today but I'm going to see if I can tackle some of the items that haven't been done yet. Got a really great image in mind for the buckets, if I can get them done like I want too. :3
If you'd rather not wait and aren't feeling particularly picky, here's the terrain.png that I use:
I would share mine but, I have to admit I'm using a mix up pack of Ovo's, Misa's, LB's and my own textures right now...slowly (very slowly) making my own pack, see. ^^;;
I'm not sure what people will think of yet another realistic pack if I ever get it done... but hey.
