I'm not all that knowledgeable in the texture pack department so please go easy on me! Is there a way I can "turn off" a specific texture while keeping the rest of the pack? Oddly enough I'd like to remove the horse textures.

Yes, it's no problem to mix-and-match packs or remove textures (it will just be replaced by the default texture).
Just open up the pack, navigate through the folders and simply delete whichever texture/s you don't want.
'Natta will be sad you didn't like her horses though...

why does the link for the models pack go to a fix for connected textures? shouldnt the fix for connected textures be under the connected textures section not he models section? Also Random mobs dont work with OptiFine 1.8.0 HD U F8 or OptiFine 1.8.8 HD U F5
Edit: copying the link and pasting it in the address bar still allows one to download models, which seem to work with 1.8 and OptiFine 1.8.0 HD U F8
I think the OP needs updating, some of the extra packs might need new versions too.
I have random mobs working fine on F4, haven't tried newer Optifine versions, but reading the Optifine thread there were a lot of reports about CTM not working so this is probably related. Test some other packs with random mobs before reporting on the Optifine thread.

Ok i figured out the problem, the folder layout on the models pack is wrong. even though its packaged as a complete separate pack, the mobs folder isnt inside a mcpatcher folder which breaks everything.
also, are there any alternate textures for netherrack and nether quartz blocks? i really dont like how it looks like intestines.
Mr. Apachey, I want you to know that this is the only texture pack my three friends and I use. It's fan-flipping-tastic, and we would be very sad if it stopped getting updates. I was already sad when the original Ovo's bit the dust.
There are lots of texture packs out there. I find a lot of them to be ugly or over the top in some way. ORR is like an enhancement to the original Minecraft graphics in my estimation. It's not over the top, and it's great to relieve the blandness found in Vanilla. I love it.
I don't post here much, nor do I browse the forums often, and I certainly almost never log in, but I periodically visit just to grab the latest version of this pack, and eagerly await continued support for the snapshots and whatever latest version Mojang puts out. My game feels incomplete when I see the vanilla textures in my ORR'd world.
I really want to thank you for what you've done here. The texture pack is greeaaaat.
So...I just realized I've been gone from here for FAR, far too long. I apologize for this guys. I'm so happy to see this pack still chugging along with its updates. Its been slow, as life has gotten to the most of us I'm sure (Me especially...I haven't had time to even open up photoshop or anything the past year almost :'( I hate it), but I hope to see more from all of you guys.
Schlutt: Thank you so much for keeping us going, and providing updates, feedback, and for putting everything together in the OP. I appreciate everything you've done to help keep things together here.
Serrinatta: I love the textures you've been adding in! And for all of the small changes you've made to some of mine to help enhance the look. I know I'm not specialist when it comes to providing an amazing looking texture that fits the pack top notch, but everything you've done to help (and others too), I know have been making this process enjoyable for me, as its helped me learn a lot. I hope to see more of your work, and as soon as I start working on files again, I hope to get your feedback and wrist slaps on everything I do wrong
Apachey: I'm sorry lately you feel like you haven't been getting alot of feedback or that your work hasn't been "noticed". I will say after reading through the past few pages, I'm still excited about seeing your work. I still remember the first time you showed up here with a bunch of work on the different mobs that today we still use. Your work is amazing Apachey! I haven't had the chance to review everything in-game yet, but whenever I get the chance, I will be sure to let you know of anything that seems off/needs work or just generally looks awesome as-is.
To anyone else: I want to thank you for coming and keeping this pack alive. It has by far been my favorite texture that I've used for many, many years now, since before the redemption started (back during the original ovo's). I, just like Kestilla was sad when I found out that Ovo's wouldn't be getting any further updates. I tried on my own to just start doing some textures and such that needed updating, but was frustrated when nothing turned out. As soon as I found this redemption, I found myself wanting to work on it again more and more as time went by, seeing everyone's work and contribution. Everyone, who has come here to either provide feedback, look for help, make requests, or even contribute themselves....I thank you, so much!
Everyone: I promise I will start finding some time to work on the pack again whenever I can. I've had the mods/plugin textures on the back-burner for far too long now...and I think its time they start getting finished. I won't promise perfect work or stuff that will be utterly stunning right away, but with time, and help from others, I know they'll improve in quality and work until its something that this pack can be proud to show. It may not be soon....just because of Work, bills, and life all piling ontop of me, but I will do my best to satisfy you guys with what I can. Hope to see you all around again!
It's good to see this thread finally spring back to life!
With 1.9 just about to drop I'm sure we'll get renewed interest.
And now that the shaders mod has been picked up by Optifine, I'm confident that it will be continued (so I'll be able to add new textures to the shaders file pack).
Anyone looking to contribute textures - see my post further up the page and have a look for anything that interests you in the list. All contributions will gladly be considered!

I just wanted to say thank you for keeping this pack updated. If I was any good with textures, I'd offer something, but about the best I can do is build ;o
hello i am posting this to inform you i have some fixes for v1.3 redstone (few things) and the hopper gui all the info and fixes are located in this rar file i recommend reading the info.text as it explains all you will need to know about what i did it also has 2 screen shots showing the fixes and the fixes them selfs
The trapdoors and fence gates are messed up in our models pack/s, any modeling experts still around?
Just had a go at fixing those models. Merge this pack with yours and it should fix the issues. Most of them were caused by the culling directions not being in quotes. I guess the model maker you used didn't quote them because it was not required in the old version
Should fix:
Trap doors
----block
----GUI rotation
Fences
----GUI rotation
Fence Gates
----block
----GUI rotation
edit: it is really difficult to do good text formatting on this website. I can see why people complain

Awesome, thankyou.
Small prob with the hinge edge of the trapdoors (open), I don't know what I'm looking at in the file to fix it though.
what is wrong with the bars? I don't see anything wrong with them.
I see the issue with the trapdoors. The down face did not have a texture coordinate assigned so it was automatically generating it from the element position so it was choosing the texture designed to go in the centre rather than outside. This should fix it

Hmm. I see this project's still going. I haven't been here in a while. I feel nostalgia, but it also reminds me of all of my broken promises.
Edit: How many textures still need to be done? I'd like to try my hand at them, but I don't know if I'll ever get them to you guys. I never do.
