I really don't like wood TNT crates, I much prefer the red TNT crates. Is there a chance anyone can make a red version of the TNT crate that looks a bit more like the original TNt but better of course.
Also the coal, and powders/dusts all look kinda cartooky like a 5yo drew them to me, they don't match the overall look of the pack to me.
Oh also I really like the round egg shaped diamond better then a gem shaped one, I don't know about you but I don't get raw diamonds from the ground pre-cut.

Well, we're trying our best. And yes, you're right, the first diamond I made was way too cartoony.
Hello guys, I'm back. its been awhile. I've been away from my computer for the last few days, so I havn't been making any textures. I do have a couple of new slimeball textures, though. They are mostly the same, one just has faint lines on it, in an attempt to make it look slightly rougher. What do you think?

I like the powders and dusts, though I think they need to be a bit more substantial really (bigger piles), and the "sparks" on the redstone dust look slightly strange ingame, not too bad, you get used to it, but still. As for the diamond, I was thinking that a rough rectangular shape would fit, using the diamond ore as a basis for shape and color.

Really? They are in the same basic style as my other one, just with a different shading. I didn't copy them if that's what your insinuating, and I've never seen the sphax slimeball. I'll be right back, while I go check it out.
EDIT: Are you sure your talking about the right pack? These look nothing like Sphax's.

I didn't say it looks similar, I said it REMINDED me of sphax. They're both cartoon-based, so that's probably the similarity I see.Remember, that's just me. Maybe adding a sort of dusty layer to the slimeballs? Say, is ovo just ovo, or ovoecean?

Oh. Uh. Well then, I apologize for that.
Making the slimeballs appear dusty may take awhile, though I think I know what I would have to do: Wash the base texture out some, make the "shine" more diffuse and less pinpointy, and possibly change the shadow a little. I'll look into it.
Alright so, I'm fairly new (okay pretty damn new) to the whole editing thing, especially with the higher resolutions. This is actually my first edit at this level, and its not much of a full edit.
Anyway, I really wanted to go for the endstone and see what I could do with it, and i'm still working on the portal pieces. If I could get any help it would be much appreciated! I just took the sponge texture and colored it more to the "endstone" color and smoothed it out a bit. Might not quite be what you guys are looking for but I thought I'd show you non-the less and get a bit of input from you guys. I've looked through all your stuff and its AMAZING! I'm really jealous of alot of your guy's skills, but I'm hoping to reach that level one day. So input on this? (I have 3 diff ones that I played around with. Personally I like the 2nd one best)

AmbigramMan, that second one kind of looks like it's cracking. o_o
I also noticed that about the redstone though... the problem is that the images, regardless of resolution, just shouldn't have alpha transparencies. They flatten out, usually to a lighter colour, and end up looking chunky like badly cut out gifs from ages past. Take the edges of my own slime ball for example...looks rather sharp as a graphic but they work great in game because of the clean pixel edge. The redstone just needs to be cleaned up a bit.
deadlypixel69, great idea with the endstone.. have you tried softening the contrast and turning the thing on it's side? Might help give the right feel. :3
Those slime balls are really shaping up nicely along with most all of the other textures. Glad I put my input in it really helped a lot. I think a smidge more noise wouldn't hurt :tongue.gif:
Also Pinky is is a fierce texturing animal. Wish I had the initiative like him :tongue.gif:

I will most definitely try that! Which one in particular did you like? Just so I know which one to mess with. I'll do all 3 for the moment, just to see how each looks, but having one to work on would be a bit easier :wink.gif:
And Thanks TheAdventureTime. :smile.gif: I really like that solid iron door you did. The design ones are nice, but after awhile sometimes they get a little overwhelming, and that plain one is really well done. I'm adding that one in to my Ovo's pack :smile.gif:

Yup I have you want to see them? Have been busy with school exams so thats why i haven;t posted them
Have you done anything since you talked about them? Show it when your finished. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between an unfinshed and one that has changes and additions but still not quite finished. :smile.gif: Or did you finish them already?

What paint program do you use? Z-Brush, Photoshop, Pain.net, Gimp, etc.

I use Gimp. I find it easy to use, with all of the cool features one would want in a paint program. Only annoying part is the lack of an autosave feature, but I can live with that (most of the time, at least).

You know, I find it interesting to know what people use to make the textures. Some have advantages and disadvantages. The different techniques people use also interest me.
*sigh* Sadly no. I am really starting to think that the developers have lost interest altogether.

uummm... your slimeballs remind me of sphax.

The current leaves and the old leaves don't really have a jungle leaf feel :tongue.gif:
The main goal here is to get a rustic feel for the pack, not a jungle feel. But if you insist, then someone could try it. :smile.gif:
Man, those alternitives are awesome! What is alternitives anyway?
LOL :biggrin.gif:

You mean to get a 64x64 resolution?
It would be for the new jungle biome from the latest snapshot, not to change the feel :tongue.gif:
Oh. I misread. Sorry about that.
